daniella's mother came back when she turned seventeen. but it didn't change anything. her parents would argue all the time. her mother even cheated on her father with another pogue, right under their roof. daniella's mother wasn't the sweet nor caring mother she once was. instead she was just like her father; an alcoholic and a drug attic. whenever her mother was drunk or high she'd call daniella "worthless", "a mistake", "an abomination" and the list goes on
it wasn't until daniella found herself a handsome young man, leonardo walker. daniella, finally thought things were getting better for her. but that phase came crumbling down on her twentieth birthday when she found out she was pregnant. sadly for her, leonardo bailed, according to him the baby she was expecting was not his, that she most likely cheated on him with some other dirty pogue
eventually, her parents found out when word got around that she was expecting a baby. at that moment she wish the ground beneath her could just swallow her whole. her mother began to recite a whole list of insults, while her father slapped her and grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out the door. he kicked her out, not letting her take anything but the clothes she was wearing
thanks to her best friend luke maybanks, she had a roof over her head. the maybanks we're like her second family. for a few days, the maybanks let the new expecting mother stay with them. but luke's father did not like the idea of daniella's sharing a room with luke, he felt that luke would want to take responsibility for a baby that is not his. so he had to speak with luke about daniella leaving. luke made it his mission to help her find a small one bedroom home. daniella had to work two or three jobs, just to keep that roof over her head. truth be told, daniella thought about ending her baby's life, but luke would always talk her out of it
after giving birth she still struggled, but once again thanks to the maybanks she survived by a thread. luke and his wife offered to take care of baby rosie, while daniella worked. luke and his wife also had a two month year old baby boy named jj. his wife didn't mind taking care of another child. when luke and his wife couldn't take care of rosie, her other friend big john would offer to take care of her. he also had a three month year old baby, named john b. anna carrera was her only kook friend she had on the island. she gladly accepted taking care of daniella's daughter. mainly because she had a whole nanny taking care of her one month year old, so what was another baby, that the nanny could help take care of?
even with all the support daniella had, she couldn't help to feel a little hatred towards her daughter. because of her she had to fight tooth and nail to survive in the cut. because of her, leonardo left her. because of her she never enjoyed her twenties
which is why sixteen years later, now being thirty six, she's living the life she never could. she's basically always high on drugs, drunk out of her mind, having a different guy over everyday and giving her daughter such a hard life; always calling her names, telling her she's always been a mistake and hitting her a few times. i guess you could say "like mother like daughter"
AS FOR ROSIE BLAKE, SHE'S A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL WHO'S BEEN THROUGH so much all her life. she lives in the cut with her mother, whose an alcoholic and drug addict. but even with her damaged house hold, she still manages to see the positive in things, she's sweet, innocent but mostly a rebel at times, and she's big hearted. she has four best friends, who she cares for so much, always putting them first before herself. the only good thing her mother has done for her is give rosie her best friends, the ones who help her forget all her problems. but apart of her always wondered what if her father hadn't left? would she still be living this life where she gets beaten by her mother, where she cries herself to sleep whenever she's alone? a huge part of her always wanted to go find her father
whenever things got too hard at home, rosie would go to the one place where she felt; in the arms of jj maybanks. due to both jj and rosie living in such a horrible life at home, they both comfort one another. whenever luke gives jj a horrible beating, jj makes his way to his real home, to his safe arms, to his anchor; rosie blake. both always manage to cheer the other up, either by making flirtatious comments, going surfing, or just holding each other in their arms while watching their favorite films
truth be told, jj and rosie have a thing for each other. but thanks to kiara's rule "no pogue on pogue macking" both push away their feelings for one another. then again rosie feels like she would never be enough for jj. nor that he would want anything serious, since he sleeps with any girl that has a beating heart, which fills her up with jealousy, not that she'd ever let him know. but to keep her feelings distracted she goes to her casual hookup, rafe cameron. despite the pogue vs kook dilemma, both rosie and rafe push it aside for their own pleasure. i guess their your frienemies with benefits
jj of course knew the girl was hooking up with the kook prince, not because rosie told him, but because he caught them making out on the beach one night when he went surfing to clear his mind after his father did a number on him. he had went to find rosie, but she was nowhere to be found. so for him to find them making out was a punch to his gut. his only thoughts were may she deserves to be with someone like rafe, he could give her anything she desires. he also never told the brunette about what he saw that night. when it comes to jj's feelings about the brunette, he feels that the only thing keeping him sane is rosie. he's had feelings for the girl since third grade. but he never tried anything, not because of the stupid rule, but because he knows she deserves better, she deserves someone who can truly give her the world and make her the happiest girl alive. so what does he do? he sleeps with any girl wishing it was rosie
john booker routledge is her other best friend. john b always allows the girl to stay at his home whenever she doesn't want to go home. mainly, because he enjoys her company, and also because of her good cooking. when john b's dad went missing rosie stayed with john b every night for a whole four months, just so the boy wouldn't feel alone. it's not like her mother would even notice. but whenever she would hear the boy cry she would go into his room and hold him telling him that it would be okay and the he wasn't alone. truth be told, john b had a crush on rosie but once he told jj and pope, jj immediately told him to back off because he called dibs back in third grade
kiara carrera was her only kook friend. kie was like the sister rosie never had and same goes for kie. the carrera's even offered rosie a job at the wreck. they absolutely loved and adored her. they would also give her little gift here and there. although, at first rosie was a bit hesitant on accepting them. but they reassured her that they gave her the gifts with all their love, gratitude, and also because they see her as another daughter
last but not least is pope heyward. pope is always so caring about the brunette. rosie is the only friend of pope that the heywards actually like and love. whenever pope notices something off about the girl he always tries cheering her up with either multiple jokes or buying her food. rosie has always enjoyed pope's company mainly because he never fails to make her laugh
