Later that evening
The loud ringing in room rocked Áine out of her sleep. She stirred in the bed, wincing from the soft bed she was laying on. She moved around in the bed, looking for her phone.
"Get your phone". She heard a grumble above her. She leaned up from her position. She slowly rubbed her eyes, squinting to see the bright light from hurting her eyes
She lazily swiped across the screen, accepting her call. She laid back on the bed, briefly closing her eyes.
"Hello?". She said.
"Bitch where are you?". Tanya loudly asked over the phone.
"Yeah where you at? We've been waiting for you". She heard India's voice say to her as well.
"What do y'all me- oh shit,", she cursed, realization rushing to her. They were supposed to meet up after work at their parents house.
"Hmm I hope you ain't at your bitch ass boyfriend's house". Tanya loudly said.
"No, why would think that of me". Áine sadly asked. She hated how her sisters thought the worse of her.
"You better get your ass back here right now!". India interjected.
"I didn't bring my car with me dumbass". Áine told her, smacking her lips
"We coming to fetch you, get ready ". Tanya said and she could hear her shuffling in the background.
"Wait for me Teetee!". She heard India in the background too.
"You still at that man's house right?". Tanya questioned her.
"Hmmm".
"Okay be out in thirty". Tanya said and dropped the call. A yawn escaped Áine's lips and squeezing her butt in
"Who was that?". Amaru groggily asked, startling her. She had forgotten all about him being in the room.
"Uhmm... my sister ". She lowly said.
"She's loud as hell". He chuckled.
"Yeah she is". She hoped he doesn't hear the conversation between the two. She leaned up back and rubbed her eyes removing the crust from the corner of her eyes.
She threw her legs over the side of the bed and stood up. She smoothened her hair that was currently messed up. Amaru switch the light on the side of his bed.
"I have to go and I'm sorry about earlier". She said to him. The little light illuminating his bare chest and the tattoos plastered across his chest
"I'm sorry for going off at you". He said to her.
"No, it's all my fault". She told him. He said nothing, staring at her. Áine felt uncomfortable from his intense gaze.
She averted her gaze and looked to the side. A knock sounded on the door. Noonie peeked in.
"Y'all up?". She said with a smirk on her face.
"Come in". Amaru invited her in. She gladly walked in and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Dinner is ready. Are you staying for dinner, Ney?". Noonie asked, directing the question at Áine.
"No, I'm going home but maybe next time?".
"Aww man, I really wanted you to have a taste of my food". Noonie sadly stated.
"And I will, you can make a to go plate for me". She sweetly told her cause a smile to grace Noonie's face.
"Alright, lemme do that before you go". She stood from the bed, walking to the door.
"And he needs to come as well. No more eating in your room". She pointed at her brother.
"Yeah yeah". Amaru said, playfully waving her off. Noonie walked out. Áine walked over to his side of the bed as he pulled the covers off his legs.
She grabbed his wheelchair and placed it near the bed. She first moved his legs over the bed so they were dangling.
"I can do it on my own". He stopped her from helping him. She stepped back and patiently watch as he tried his best.
A grunt escaped his lips as he tried lifting his body up. His hands tightly gripping the bar of the chair.
"Amaru, let me-".
"I can do it!". He cut her off. Áine could see how hard he was trying but they hadn't reached that level yet. She was glad he was trying but it was too soon.
He grunted once more, a sharp pain shooting up his back and knuckles. He let himself plop down back on the bed. A few stray tears rolled down his cheeks, but he quickly wiped them off.
Áine saw and couldn't help but feel bad for him. She couldn't help but think the pain he had to go through every day not knowing when he will walk.
"I-i can do this". He stuttered, wiping the tears.
"I know you can but just- just let me help you". Áine softly reassured him. Her heart goes out to him. She walked up to him and gently placed his arms around her neck.
"You okay?". She asked him, while looking down at him. Amaru nodded his head.
"1,2,3". She lowly counted and then lifted him up when she had enough strength. She gently placed him in his chair and helped him till he was comfortable.
Amaru sniffled and couldn't help but feel embarrassed from the little breakdown he had. He couldn't let her see him in that weak state and he was beating himself up for that.
A horn outside the hooted, startling the two. Áine walked to the blinds and peeked through, seeing her sister's car outside.
"That's just my sister ". She informed him, walking back to him. He blankly stared at her making her feel uncomfortable. She cleared her throat, feeling the intense glare.
"Uhm... I gotta go. See you tomorrow?". She told him, walking towards the door. He nodded his head and she let herself out.
Walking towards the hallways and passing by the kitchen, Noonie appeared in front of her with her plate of food, wrapped in foil.
"Here you go and enjoy!". Noonie happy said with a grin on her face.
"Thank you so much, ". Áine smiled small and loving the smell of the food already.
"This smells good and I know I'm not going to eat this alone. Can you quickly make another one and bring it outside?". She politely asked.
"Sure!". Noonie happily turned back to the kitchen.
1st POV
As I walked out the house, I saw Tanya's car down the driveway. I walked towards the car and saw India in the front seat. I opened the back door and slipped in my plate, but I was still outside.
"Hey sisters ". I said to India and Tanya.
"Get in and let's go". Tanya looked at me from the front.
"What you bring that smells so good?". India's hungry ass asked. She's always hungry though and she never gets fat. Lucky bitch.
I saw Noonie walking towards the car with two plates in her hand. I was happy because I didn't have to share my food anymore.
"Here you go and hey". She walked over to me and handed the food. She then greeted my sisters.
"You are so pretty". India complimented Noonie while sticking her big head out the window.
"You pretty as well". Noonie said to India, and she started grinning.
"Not you gassing her ugly ass up".
"Don't be jealous because she ain't say nothing to you". They started going back and forth causing me to roll my eyes. This was an everyday thing.
I said my goodbyes to Noonie and climbed in the car. I sat in the middle and waited for them to finish.
"Are y'all done because I want to go home". I said to the two after they have quietened down.
"You ain't going home. We going back to papa's place". Tanya said to me. I shook my head because I didn't want to. I was tired and just needed my bed and a hot shower.
"Can we do this Saturday, when Amara is available too? Cause I want just go home and sleep."
"Were you not just asleep just now?" India turned around and looked at me.
"Yes and I'm still tired". I said back to her. She hummed and Tanya said nothing.
"Is that fine with you Tee?". I said, leaning forward.
"Whatever you want". She said, nodding her head. I leaned back in the seats and pulled out my phone as a text came through.
we can meet tonight.
My brows furrowed in confusion. It has been weeks or even months since the last time I sent that text. I was shocked to even get a text back.

"Who you texting?". Tanya's nosy self asked me. I looked up from my phone. I didn't notice I was buried deep in it. I was certainly caught by surprise.
"Nobody". I quickly said, seeing we were pulling up at my apartment. I saw his car parked further down from my duplex building. I just hope Tanya did not see it and start causing a scene because I certainly wasn't in the mood.
"I will see y'all tomorrow my beautiful sisters. I love you". I said to them as I opened the door and got out the car. I grabbed one of my plates and I was about to reach for the second one and India stopped me.
"And where you taking that?". She questioned me. I looked at her, weirdly.
"What do you mean?".
"That's not yours". She pointed towards the two plates in my hand.
"Excuse me, you don't know how hard I hustled for this, now bye". I said, closing the door with my butt. I didn't know what India thought this was, but I wasn't sharing my food with nobody.
I knew I wasn't going to finish all but I needed something to get my weight back on track.
"Bye Ney and call me as soon as you make it in". Tanya said to me. I nodded my head and walked up the little pathway I had leading to my door. I was glad to have gotten the house at the end because it was much bigger, and I didn't have noisy neighbours.
I got in and walked to the kitchen, and immediately switching the lights on even though the light from the hallway was illuminating throughout the downstairs area.
I removed my shoes and pulled my hair out of my messy bun and ran my fingers through my scalp. I badly needed a protective style because I was one person who couldn't maintain my own hair natural.
A knock sounded through the door, and I took a deep breath because I knew shit was going left once, I opened that door. Opening the door and seeing my bitch ass ex, I felt all my feelings rushing back to me.
I couldn't understand why I was still feeling love for him after all he had done to me. Taking a step back, l let him in, why? Because I never got the chance to actually hear him out. I needed to. For my sake.
Not hear him out to give him another chance but to just get an understanding of how he could do that to me after all I've done for him.
I walked towards the living room and took a seat on my couch. I stared at him as he took one a little further away from me. Silence settled in the space we were in, and it was suffocating me.
"What do you want Kobi?". I blurted out. He looked at me, I guess stunned by my question.
"I-I came to apologize ".
"Apologize for what?". I needed to know for what exactly. He owed me so many apologies and I couldn't count them on my single hand.
"For everything ". He told me.
"Okay now that you have apologized, you can leave". I told him and I saw the hurt flash into his eyes. I mean, he did come to apologize and that's all I wanted but it could never take away my pain.
"Damn you're just going to do me like that?". This nigga had the audacity to act like I've hurt him when it's been the other way around.
"Do you like how? And do you really wanna go there because we can go there right now. I have the time and the energy." I could feel myself getting worked up because if this nigga wanted to play victim with me, I could really take it there with him.
"Why you gotta be so bland about it, like you don't care about me no more?". He asked me and I could really hear the hurt in his voice.
"Because I am really done with your motherfucking cheating ass. You really gonna sit here and try to be the victim?". A laugh escaped my lips. I was really in disbelief.
How could I be so blind, all these years?
"Well, it's your fault I cheated anyways. You were really never there emotionally so I did what I had to do". He shrugged and that really ticked me off.
"I MADE YOU CHEAT? ARE YOU REALLY FUCKING DUMB?". I yelled as numbness graced my body as soon as I heard those words leave his dirty ass mouth.
"YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT HOW I WASN'T EMOTIONALLY AVAILABLE FOR YOU WHEN YOU CHEATED WITH MY BEST FRIEND COUNTLESS TIMES? DO YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT THE ABORTIONS I DID TOO, HUH? DO YOU ALSO WANNA TALK ABOUT THE CHILD I LOST AND HOW YOU WEREN'T THERE FOR ME, HUH? DO YOU REALLY WANNA DO THAT RIGHT NOW?". I questioned him. I hadn't noticed the tears rolling down my face until I felt them on my neck.
I really wanted to go over at him and slap him across his face, but I didn't know what he was capable of in this moment.
He stared at me as I looked back at him. He had his jaw clenched and I could feel I had ticked him off. I couldn't believe this was someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and have kids with.
"Y-you were never there f-for me when I lost our child because you were so busy caught up in Shayla's ass. I supported your ass, financially, emotionally, mentally and all you did was be a dirty, bum ass nigga. You will never find someone else like me again". I spat at him, and I hoped my words made him feel shittier and if they didn't now, later on they will.
"And you can leave. I don't want to ever see you again. I hope you die".
"Well after you". Kobi said to me but that didn't faze me because I was so used to him saying such things.
"Hell has a special place for people like you". Kobi smacked his lips and stood up, walking towards the door but stopped and turned around.
"At least Shayla is good in bed".
"Or you just have a small dick". I shrugged. Bruising his ego was as easy as that. On his way out, I heard him grabbed one of my vases and smashed it on the wall.
"FUCK YOU ÁINE". He yelled towards me. I couldn't believe I was with him for ten years and loved him very much. To think I knew him like the back of my hand, clearly, I lied to myself.
