Upon the lover’s parting,
With their eyes facing the endless sea
The Mrs. Of His Chambers
Pulled a promise from her lips…
“Dear Lover, do not shed a tear,
The universe would cease it’s magic,
If we are apart more than a year.”
Her words echoing through his head,
The Husband embraced his wife,
And with teeth of a demon that bit into his flourishing heart,
He mumbled lies of assurance to the one he would surely die without.
“Faith, my love, has swollen my heart tender,
For nor God nor Hades owns my selfish soul,
You are not half to my entirety; you are my whole.”
The seas navigated the winds,
And the Husband took sail on his rotting ship,
The image of his wife vanishing,
As the hurricane framed him with its eager mouth.
Extracting the tattered picture from his breast pocket,
The Husband Sailor crumbled apart,
Discarding all anger at this God,
He prayed feverishly to return to the one he loved.
As if to answer the mortal man’s question,
The sky gave out a forgiving cry,
And before the tsunami swallowed him whole,
Rain parted from the clouds to cleanse the sinners immortal soul.
