As Connor, a regular NYPD Detective, walked down the path, the tall poles with leaves looming over him, the bird singing in the background up in the leaves, and the twigs and stones crunching under his boots, he felt at peace as he walked down the path, his hands deep in the pockets of his coat, the wind blowing through his face and hair, he saw squirrels climb up the brown poles as fast as they could, the woodland animals peacefully living their life in the woods, the place full of beauty. Yet, it held some mysterious secrets and lies.

He walked down the narrow walkway the twists and turns taking him in different directions, as he walked he could see something in the distance, he couldn't make it out at all as the thing or object he was looking at was too far away for him to get a better look at, he saw it was covered in leaves and branches so he implied that it looked abandoned from as far as he could see, he heard something ripple softly as he walked the path, he saw a little river flowing peacefully down the stream, the trees reflecting off the little sunlight piercing the trees, he took in the fresh air and smiled as he carried on his journey walking peacefully, he saw a fish jump out the river, its pale scales sparkling in the light, he marveled at the shine of the scales as the fish dived back into the cool river once more, he then carried on walking without a care in the world, the sound of the river soothing his mind over how hard his job as a detective was, he deserved some peace and quiet as this day was his part of his day off after solving an endless amount of cases.

As he walked, he tripped over something, "what the hell..." he muttered as he picked up the object; it was gold with a beautiful design on the handle of it, "Why is this on the floor?" he said to himself, he shrugged and put it in his pocket and continued his walk, he didn't know why he picked up the object, it piqued his curiosity as to what it would open or lead him to, he was determined to find out what it would lead him too, he was nervous as he didn't know if what he would find would be a good thing or a bad thing, but he trusted his instinct and went to find out what he was going to find, maybe it was a treasure, maybe it would lead him to another world, or an abandoned mansion who knows but he was excited to find out what, he could have thought of the object as a bad thing, but still he wanted to find out.

As he walked, he saw a tall building; it looked like a cabin, its walls old and worn as if it had been there for years, all alone and sad, like a lost soul wandering all alone. "Woah, this place is old", he said to himself as he walked up the wooden steps; he took out the key and thought 'Let's see if this fits' he slowly put the key in and turned the lock; it opened with a silent click, he took the key out and put it in his pocket to keep it safe so he wouldn't lose it, he opened the door as it groaned as if was awakened from its sleep.

He felt scared to the brim, but he took a deep breath and said, "Here we go, Cabin, let's see what's inside" he walked inside, and the door slammed shut; he winced as he took out a flashlight and shined it everywhere "welp let's get started" he muttered as he started his search around the cabin, to see what it held and if there was more to it than meets the eye.

He went inside the dilapidated building, the door's hinges groaning as he opened the weary door; a cloud of dust smacked him in the face. "Oh goddamn, this place reeks of death," he said, coughing, shooing the dust away. He went inside and saw the dilapidated inside of the cabin, the foggy windows letting in little light; he walked inside, shining his torch around the place; the floorboards groaned as he walked around, each step, a groan echoed inside the little cabin.

He sighed, and as he searched the place, he heard footsteps outside; his heart paced as he swung round and had his gun out pointed at the figure. "Woah, dude, calm down" It was his partner Alex with his hands in the air; Connor sighed as he put his gun back in his holster. "Alex, you scared me!" he grumbled, taking a deep breath. "Sorry, It's just Arnold who told me you were checking out the place, and he said I should help you" Connor smiled a little. "It's okay, but I'm glad I've got help; I cannot search this place by myself" Alex put his arms back down and smiled. "I know it's super freaky, right?" He looked at Connor who nodded back at him. "I know, right, so freaky" Connor said as they looked around; they found old books, papers, photos and more which stayed in their places.

"Woah, these pictures are so freaky," Alex said as he picked up a dusty frame with a young woman and her parents. "This might be the family that used to live here, " he suggested, putting the frame back onto the desk. Connor nodded. "Apparently, it was her parents; I saw in the case file White gave us earlier", Alex sighed. "They looked so normal...I wonder what happened to them," he commented, feeling a sense of sadness and fear over this old sorrowful cabin.

Connor shook his head. "Yeah, I have no idea" he shrugged as they looked around; a dark feeling rose in his stomach as if something or someone was watching them, but he thought of it as nothing until it got worse.

He groaned and gasped in pain as Alex turned around and looked at his friend "Connor?!" he shouted as he ran towards him, gripping his shoulders. "You okay? What's wrong?!" Connor couldn't think; his mind was filling with cotton; he took a deep breath and sighed. "I-I don't know what happened..." he muttered as he rubbed his head; Alex hugged him and said, "Don't worry, you'll be fine" Connor hugged back, sighing softly.

"Yeah, I guess so" They kept looking around the house as its curiosity took over their minds as they wandered inside the place, They looked through the draws, but there wasn't anything of importance; they did find old papers and other trinkets which interested them, "Woah these are very comprehensive," Connor said as Alex agreed in a nod "Yeah I mean there are so many diagrams and things, was the dad a doctor? Scientist?" he said as Connor gave a grave laugh " I have no idea, but I have neither idea that it was good or bad" Alex smirked "Yep I bet it was bad" the boys smiled and looked around more trying to see if they could find anything.

The putrid air was filling the shrieking sorrows of the dead spirits that wafted through Granny Crow's crumbling cabin as Connor and his partner Alex kept trying to uncover the secrets of the cabin to figure out the sickening truth of Granny Crow and her seemingly normal cabin, both boys knew that they might not survive, but they took that chance no matter the cost of their fates which would soon be sealed as these secrets were polluted in the saddest of times.

As the boys looked around, they kept looking at the old, worn photos, which looked unnerving, "Damn, I wonder what went wrong with this family", Alex said as Connor nodded slowly. "Yeah, it must have been awful" Alex nodded as he walked off to look at another section of the run-down cabin. Connor walked to another part of the cabin and found the basement; since he was smart and didn't want to die, he'd go to the basement later with Alex so he could have a backup in case something bad happened.

As they looked around, they had some suspicions about the cabin. When they looked at the photo, they saw that the mother looked like a Victorian woman, The husband looked like a doctor or a lawyer, but they weren't sure. Then they saw Agnes as a young girl who looked like one of the twins from the game Fran Bow.

"God, this cabin looks like it was from Resident Evil 7," Alex said, trying to cut the silence as Connor nodded. "Yeah, it does, but at least we aren't Ethan Winters trying to find his wife Mia and also stopping an insane family," he said.

Sheridan nodded with a laugh. "Yeah, still, we need to find out what truly happened to this one," he said as they looked through old pictures, letters and other memorabilia.

Connor looked through a drawer and saw the most disgusting thing ever; it was a dead rat. "Ugh, gross! A rat, seriously, why would people put it into a draw" he said as Alex shrugged. "I have no idea, but I'm guessing these people are just demented," he said, sighing deeply.

"This is nuts," Alex said, looking through the documents in the old desk draws. "I mean, who in the world would do this," he said as Connor replied, "Just very crazy people who are, well, insane, really. I'm not sure" he looked through a cupboard and grumbled, "Ugh, spider webs" he then closed the door as the contents of what was inside were scarce.

"Nothing in the cupboards," Connor said, "only spider webs", he muttered as Alex sighed. "This house is way too old. There's nothing here," he said as Connor started to feel weird again; he dismissed it as nothing at first, but it got worse and worse over time as he groaned, and then something strange happened. He started seeing the house before it was abandoned as if all the memories of the place started to spill into his mind "Uh, Connor? You okay, you're staring into space; it's kinda creepy."

Alex said worriedly as Connor started seeing the memories of the house and how Agnes was treated, which wasn't good since he saw the mother as overly Christian and believed in the spiritual kingdom of heaven and saw everything as God's will including punishing the wicked which she thought was her own daughter, he felt tears flow down his face as he muttered: "D-don't hurt me...please..." Alex shook Connor.  "H-huh, what's going on.." Connor muttered, snapping out of his trance and wiping the sudden tears that flowed down his face. "W-was I crying?" he muttered as Alex explained. "Dude, you just stared into space, and I heard you mutter, 'Don't hurt me please' Then you started crying," He said as Connor looked confused. "I have no idea what you're talking about," he said.

"Wait, really, that's odd," Alex said, raising an eyebrow in worry.  Connor started to rub his head in confusion as Alex put a hand on his shoulder. "Are you sure you okay" Connor nodded. "I'm okay...I think," he muttered slowly as Alex sighed. "I'm really worried about you, man..." Connor sighed deeply. "Me too...I'm worried about me, too," he muttered as he sniffled and looked around again. He still felt strange, but he had to hide it so it wouldn't affect him.

They kept looking around, but they found nothing. Hence, they decided to check upstairs, the wooden steps groaning each time they stepped on them, "This is honestly giving me the creeps", Connor muttered, looking around as Alex nodded. "Yeah, this is freaky, but let's just try to survive and not die here" Connor nodded as both detectives kept looking around each room; inside each room was a dark secret it had held for so long.
