Chapter 6 - There's No Way I'm gonna be the Woman Here!
I am terribly sorry I haven't updated for over a month! I was so busy and I got writer's block. Plus, I had love problems. :'( Anyways, please enjoy!

All the best! This is a really boring chapter, a filler, I must say. Take time to read it though, I'm trying to build up Vince's and Dimitri's , ummmm, relationship or whatever.

Vince POV
Awwww.
My head hurts.
My nape hurts.
My back hurts.
My legs hurt.
My everything hurts!
I feel like I got wasted last night.
Great Vince! That's what you get for strolling around on your first day instead of resting.
I stared at the window with extreme anger. Dang! The sun hasn't risen yet. Dang! Dang! Dang! I need to sleep some more. I twisted and turned from side to side. I laid on my back and on my tummy but I can't get myself to dose off.
I hate this part of me. I sleep like a log but once I'm awake, I can't go back to sleep even if I still need to. I glanced at the clock on the bedside table and saw that it is 4 am. 7 hours of sleep is not so bad, but I still need some more.
Since I can't go back to sleep, I decided to go downstairs and head to the kitchen. A cup of hot coffee should make my mood better. Mmmmhmmm! The kitchen is my Aunt Ellie's heaven. For uncle Nestor, though the kitchen is a torture chamber since there is not a single instant food here. If you wanna eat something, you gotta make it from scratch. Nestor said that he had never cooked in the kitchen or else he'll go crazy.
I scoured the kitchen cabinets and found the good all coffee beans!
"Good morning, Vince!" Ellie greeted.
"Morning! Would you like a cup of coffee, too?"
"I would prefer orange juice. I'll pick some oranges from the garden. Is it ok if you will make some pancakes?"
"I'd be happy to."

"So, do you have plans today?" Ellie asked.
"Err..."
"I already told you last night, Vince will have a date!" Nestor interrupted. He gave me a funny look while wiggling his eyebrows.
I choked on my pancakes and now coughing and wheezing for my life.
"Dear! Look what you've done to him. Mind your manners!"
"I was just teasing him a little. Besides, I'm sure you will like this Dimitri guy."
"Nope! We are not going on a date." I cried.
"It's ok Vince dear. Growing up all by yourself might have affected your... ummm... preference. I personally don't mind. And I'm sure your uncle won't either." She shot a knowing look on Nestor.
"Stop staring Ellie. I already told you I won't mind. It's a really shame though, no one will continue my bloodline."
"Wait, what?!" I must have said that louder than wanted. "We are getting ahead of ourselves. Let me make thing clear. Yes?" They nodded. "First, WE are NOT going out on a date. Second, I AM NOT gay."
They looked at each other and nodded then sighed at the same time. "In denial." They said in chorus.
"I heard from Nestor that you were dancing like crazy after this Dimitri kissed your hands."
"And don't forget that I suspect that he was the one who bought him those phones."
"I-" sigh.... "I was just happy, the way he treated me is not like how others did." I admit in defeat. "Regardless, let's not talk about this topic, okay?"
"Whatever you say." Again they said in chorus.
I can't help but giggle. "You always do that."
"Do what?" again in unison.
"THAT. Answering the same thing at the same time, doing things together like perfectly matched gears... I can't wait to see what will happen once you have a kid! You guys will be a great trio." I laughed a bit then I noticed that the atmosphere changed. I think I stepped on a land mine.
"Yeah. That would be very nice. I want to get pregnant soon but..." Her eyes started to become watery "maybe it's not the right time yet."
"I'm sorry. I don't mean to upset you, Aunt Ellie."
"I'm fine.
"It's my fault. Our family's fault." Nestor confessed.
"Nestor, quit blaming yourself and your family. We both know that none of us is sterile and there is no such thing as 'your family is cursed'."
"Ok! We should stop right here!" I interrupted. "I can't take this drama. We should go on with our lives and be happy! I mean, you guys are thinking that I'm gay right? I might be since Dimitri is unlike anyone I have met before. If I can't continue the bloodline, then uncle will. I just know that you will bear a child in due time!" I said in the most comical manner I could.
"I knew it! I won Ellie! That's cash for me!"
"Damn! I'm happy that I can have a child in time but I can't believe I lost!" Ellie exclaimed.
"Wait, you guys are betting on... MY sexuality?" I asked in confusion.
"Not really dear." Elvie beamed a smile. "We were betting if you would go gay for Dimitri."
"They're the same!"
"No. They are NOT the same. But the main issue is that my handsome nephew would go gay for a guy who he just met! I demand to meet this Dimitri." Ellie pointed out.
"I can't believe you did this to me." -puppy face- "I feel I'm being bullied."
"At least you know we are cool with you being gay -"
"I am not gay, ok?" I cut Nestor off.
"At least not yet my dear." Elvie said. "If ever, I know you will go gay for Dimitri."
"Fine! Think of whatever you guys want."
"Since our bet has been settled, what are your plans now Vince?" Nestor asked.
"Get a job maybe."
"Where dear?"
"I don't know yet Aunt Ellie."
"You can work in a hospital. Or maybe you can be a school nurse again." Nestor suggested. I'm sure you'll have no problems getting a job here."
"Yes dear. Since you passed the NCLEX a few months back, you just have to have a social security number to have your license activated." Elvie instructed.
"Or you can continue your dreams to be a doctor."
"I don't know."
"I want you to know that Ellie and I are here to support you... Well, as if you would need us financially since your folks left you a great sum of money and properties, but still, we are here for you. You know... Moral support?" Nestor expressed with a tinge on laughter.
"Thanks a bunch uncle."
"In the meantime dear, you can help at my dental clinic. Not as an official employee yet but you can still earn money." Ellie offered.
"I don't really need money. I-"
"Yeah he doesn't need money. He's rich for crying out loud!" Nestor mocked.
"Uncle, I've never touched my inheritance, except for my allocated allowance. As I was saying, I just want to have something to do."
"Maybe you can be our butler."
"Very funny uncle. If I'll be your butler, I would demand a high salary. So high you'll go bankrupt. Going back, I'll help in the clinic in the meantime. I'm also planning on being a volunteer at the animal shelter."
"My dear nephew. Not only is he handsome, but also kind!" my aunt cooed.

I went with Ellie so she could show me her dental clinic. I met her staff and her fellow dentists and they are all nice, especially to me since I have this ability.
Margaret, my aunt's dental aid, showed me how things work here. When the clock stroke 10 am, clients came in rushing. I never thought that there are a lot of people wanted to have their teeth checked and all.
A few minutes after 12, my aunt and I drove to the nearest mall to set up a cell service for me after which, we ate at a Japanese restaurant, my favorite! The next few hours flew by fast and I was dead tired in assisting in the clinic.
"Wow! Today was really busy, isn't it? We had over 30 clients on a Monday!" Margaret announced.
"Seems Vince here is a lucky charm. All he have to do is to stand by the door and more people would come in. He's like a maneki-neko!" Dr. Takahashi told.
"A what?" some of his colleagues asked in unison.
"Remember that cute cat figurine on my table? It is in sitting position with his left hand raised. That's a maneki-neko. We Japanese believe it to bring good fortune to business by attracting customers and luck." Dr. Takahashi explained.
"He is not a manikin whatever dear. He doesn't even like cats to begin with. My nephew is just charming." My aunt clarified.
"Whatever it is, don't you think it's kinda odd that most of our clients today have perfect teeth? Especially the young ones who look like models." Margaret asked.
"I noticed that too. But nevertheless a customer is a customer, and more customers mean more income." Dr. Smith concluded.
"You are giving Vince too much credit that he is beet-red. We will leave early; I need to drive him back home. I believe he has a date and I have to meet this date of his. Right dear?" Ellie winked at me.
I almost forgot that Dimitri will stop by. All I could respond is a nod and we left the clinic. He said he will be there by 4. It is almost 4! Wait, why am I getting so anxious about it? Let him wait for all I care.
"So what time will he be arriving to pick you up?"
"Around 4, I guess?"
"Why didn't tell me earlier?"
"You never asked. Besides, he won't die if he will wait for a few minutes."
"I'm guessing that you will be the woman in your relationship. Hmmmm"
"What made you say that?"
"Well for beginners, women make men wait." Ellie stared to drive slower.
"Why are you slowing down? Drive faster! There is no way I'm gonna be the woman."
With that Ellie chuckled and floored the gas all the way home. I'm glad that we made it home alive. We made it 5 minutes before 4. I scanned the area and not a trace of Dimitri's car. There's enough time for me to take a shower and change fresh clothes. I won't make him wait. I will wait for him. I got out of the car and rushed to the bathroom. In a few moments I'm drying my hair with my towel while putting on a new pair of pants then a shirt. I know I was faster than The Flash. Next thing I knew I was in sitting on the couch in the living room trying hard to compose myself so no one will notice that I needed to catch my breath and pretending to watch the TV. Yes! 1 minute to spare.
At exactly 4, I heard someone parked outside. A few moments later a knock on the door.
"Coming dear!" Ellie called with such excitement. On her way to the front door, she was humming and glance at me with a wink on her eye.
"Hello dear! Who might you be?" Ellie asked the person on the door. The living room is a bit far from the living room so I can't confirm if it really is Dimitri. If it is Dimitri, I don't want to rush to the front door, he might think I'm so excited to see him. I need to keep it cool. Yeah. Just keep it cool Vince. You have embarrassed yourself enough this breakfast and your rush-to-the-bathroom act earlier.
"Vince dear? Your date is here!" Ellie called shouting. I turned my head to the living room entrance and saw my aunt with Dimitri. He is the same as yesterday, cool and handsome wearing a blue-white stripes V-neck shirt and a dark blue jacket-hoodie with its sleeves pulled to his elbows. His light brown pants and black Nike shoes goes well with his top. Yup! He's really cool. The moment our eyes met, a sweet smiled formed on his lips.
"Auntie, we are not going on a date." I corrected Elvie.
"We are not?" Dimitri asked innocently.
"Sure you guys are! I've already gave Dimitri my permission dear. And don't call me Auntie, it makes me feel old. Just call me Ellie."
"Dimitri just wanted to visit me today. He is the first friend I made since I arrived so we are gonna hang out Ellie."
"Oh dear. You never told me that you want to spend time with Dimitri here. You two must never lock yourselves alone in a room."
"Gosh Ellie! Why would we do that?"
"Well Vince dear, I heard perfectly clear this breakfast that you will go ghaaymmpppp foormmmp-" I rushed to Elvie to cover her mouth.
"You live in a happy household Vince." Dimitri giggled. "Worry not Ellie. I give you my word that we will not lock ourselves in one room... today."
Ellie struggled for a bit and managed to get my hands off of her mouth. "Such a sexy accent and use of words Dimitri dear. I'll fix you something to eat since you will be hanging out here. What you would you like me to cook?"
"Why thank you Elvie. I do not mean to sound rude but I am not hungry, though Vince looks like he needs something to eat."
"If it is Vince, I know he would prefer something sweet to eat and something bitter to drink. I'll be back in a bit!"
"Take your time! Don't rush!" I shouted. Slowly, I faced Dimitri. "So... you wanna watch Thor?"
"I would be delighted to."
We started to watch the film. At first, Dimitri was really focused on the movie. He kinda laughed and he was really amazed that Thor sounds just like him though his voice sounded younger. Through the rest of the movie, his eyes are no longer fixed on the screen. Ok, so from time to time I glance at him and I can see that he is staring at me. He is not even shy to pretend that he was looking at something else. I'm used to people's stares at me but his is oddly different.
"Are you bored?" I asked.
"No."
"Then, why aren't you watching?"
"I found someone better to watch." He smirked and sat closer to me.
"Do you want to do something else?"
"Looking at you is fine. Does it bother you?" There is cuteness overload! It was not because of the cheesiness of his words. I know I'm blushing I can't help it. Dimitri's expression looks like a really cute and handsome puppy. Must hold it in, I can't... I'm giving in... I'm... I'm...
"I don't mind you dears displaying your affection. I just want you guys to know that here's your cookies and your coffee Vince. I'll be back in the kitchen to make some dinner." I heard Elvie left the tray on the table. As her words sank into my head, I realized that I was hugging Dimitri and my head buried on the curve of his neck.
I can feel my cheeks blushing like crazy but I can't seem to figure a cool way to get myself out of this situation

DIMITRI POV
"By the way, Dimitri, Vince is really fond of cute things. Great job on those cheesy lines and THE puppy face! I'm gonna go now." Ellie stated. I am not certain on what she meant. 'Ch-cheesy lines? Puppy face?' I thought to myself.
Awkwardly, Vince unwrapped his arms off of my body. "Err, yeah. Ummm... Let's eat!" He invited me. "I would rather eat you." I murmured.
"You said something?" His left eyebrow rose as he asked me innocently.
"So you like sweets?" I probed with honest curiosity.
"Yeah."
"Why is your drink smells really bitter?"
"That's how I like it. Want some?" he offered.
I shook my head to refuse and I giggled. "Though you look really adorable, you should not speak while your mouth is full."
He immediately swallowed the food in his mouth "I was chewing a huge chunk of cookie and you asked so I answered." Then he gulped a mouthful of the strange drink.
"You like sweets and yet you are drinking a bitter liquid?" I asked again.
"This liquid is called coffee, and I call it 'the drink of the gods'. You should try it."
"I am neither hungry nor thirsty," I declined "but thank you so much for the offer." I can sense that he is beginning to feel awkward because of my stares so I averted my eyes and focused on the window. I inhaled to seem normal but that made things worse.
I was so preoccupied with Vince's presence that I failed to notice my surroundings. His overly bitter coffee and generously sweet cookies topped with his own addictive scent masked the odor of the approaching enemies.
I know that I was followed the moment I entered their territory but I never expected that once I settled here with Vince, more mongrels would pile up. If I stay here too long, they those pests would think that I have ill intentions.
"The sun has come down, would you like to go outside?" I suggested. If we would be in the open, those mutts would stop speculating.
"Sure!" he answered with so much glee, as he realized he blushed.
I chuckled as we walked outside.

I really can not stand the stench of those wolves, instead of walking around town, we are sealed inside my car as we drive around town. The mutts are still following us and that is very irritating.
"Are you okay?" Vince asked.
"I am sorry, I feel so agitated. There is , er, something here in this county that bothers me." I explained.
His eyebrows knit and his lips curved with curiosity. "What exactly bothers you, if I may ask."
"The weather is one. Let us not talk about it, yes?" I suggested. "Do you have anywhere in mind you would like to go to?"
"Surprise me!" Vince answered.
I glanced at the rear view mirror and saw that we are still being followed. The best place we can go is anywhere outside of this county.
"Very well. Be certain that you inform your Aunt that you will be back home late." I declared and grinned as I drive.
