A wound
Scarlet filling the room
Of a dress once white as dove
The hands hold me
For the first twirl in the waltz

Another wound
The floor turns red with life
With waltz to dance in the cold
While the piano keys are played
By a hand of no stranger

Last wound
Shadows tainted with the essence
Slipping farther away
But closer to the waltz
Never to part again

For it is the beginning
Of an end.
