While everyone else is jumping up, and Abby is smirking because, surprise, surprise, her little plan worked, my ass is still planted firmly in my seat. "And, on Friday, both casts are invited to a congratulatory party!" She claps her hands together excitedly while throwing me a little glance. "Michael, I thought you of all people would be the most excited, after all, you were so desperate to win, right?" She grins, fuck what have I done, and turns away to talk to Harry.
"We need to talk, now." Louis yanks my arm and pulls me to a little desolate corner. "What's with all the flirtiness on her part?" I explain to him everything I did, including the kiss, and his mouth goes into a perfect little o. "Yikes. Well, you're not going to exactly like what I have to tell you."
"What?"
"You know the you and Abby pictures? Yeah, they got leaked, and Calum and Abby broke up. Everyone is shunning you, and, um, you're being called as a whore all over the internet." He explains, and then hands me his phone to show me all the hate. "We don't know who leaked them."
"Well, Abby, duh." He shakes his head , "what do you mean?"
"We checked Abby's phone, the pictures aren't anywhere to be seen, before the leak. Someone else must've leaked it." I bit my lip, hard. "You don't think . . ." We both glance at Adeline, who's walking gracefully in black heels.
"No fucking way."
"Maybe."
"What if she teamed up with Abby? Damn, I need an aspirin. . . and a drink."
"If she teamed up with Abby, she could play the part as the heartbroken girl to the media! Since the media wasn't all caught up on Abby and Calum, and the pictures look like you initiated the kiss, you have no way out of this."
I pause, "Do you think I could apologize to her?" Stupid idea, I know, but I already find my feet walking me towards her back. I tap her on the shoulder, "Adeline?" She turns around.
Fuck.
She looks radiant.
"Hmm?" She hums, looking up at me through her lashes.
"I'm really, really, really, really sorry." This sounds so desperate I want to cry blood. "Seriously." To my surprise, she wraps me in a hug.
"It's okay." She whispers in my ear harshly, "it's oh-fucking-kay, darling."
