When you were a young child and growing into your early teen years you had always dreamed of the perfect wedding. Having the big venue, inviting all your friends, having bridesmaids, the white dress. Eloping had never crossed your mind. Until Spencer Reid asked you to be his wife and not waste another day. Everything went by so fast but you knew it wasn't a mistake.
You walked into the bar, Spencer had already gone in a couple of minutes ahead of you. Telling everyone that you were married to Spencer was something you and Spencer had decided to take slow. Considering the timeline between Spencer breaking things off with Max and the both of you eloping, it didn't look so... rational. So you were trying to find a way to let everyone know.
"Y/n hey" Garcia announced handing you a shot
"Actually I'm not drinking tonight" you glanced over to Spencer's seat and gave him a look "I'm going go get some water, I'll be back"
You walked away and heard Spencer say he was going to the bathroom. You walked away from the booths and over to a spot of the bar where the team wouldn't see you. You leaned against a wall and waited.
"What's up" he walked over to you and rested his hand on your forearm
"Max is here"
"What" his eyes widened
"She's over there" you pointed over to the girl drinking and flirting with the guy next to her, you felt awful
"Should we leave?" he dragged his hand down to hold your hand
"No, I-I don't know I feel like apologizing" you looked up at him, frowning
He just looked down at you, confused. "Well if your boyfriend left you for another woman and got married in that same week, you would be pissed too. Probably drinking away the pain as well." you pushed yourself off the wall
"Well she doesn't know that"
"Trust me, she knows" you chewed on your bottom lip "She probably doesn't know about us getting eloped but she definitely knows that you left her for me. I'm going over there"
"Is that really a good idea" Spencer didn't let you go
"Probably not but I don't know, it feels like I made my life better by ruining hers" you shrugged
"Fine but I'm staying close" he let go of your hand and leaned against the wall
You nodded and slowly made your way over to her and stood next to her. She looked at you and rolled her eyes. "What do you want"
"I just wanted to talk"
"Fine" she agreed quickly "Let's go outside I can barely hear"
"Okay," you grinned and followed her out the doors. You didn't understand why she agreed so quickly, you assumed she was probably going to yell at you and didn't want to cause a scene inside. Honestly, you felt like you deserved being yelled at
Before you exited the building Spencer had followed behind, he was far enough not to interfere. The cool breeze hit your face and you shivered a little. It was getting colder. Max stopped in her tracks and turned around to face you. The both of you were down the block face to face
"I just wanted to apologize, I know he was going to propose to you, and instead he-" she cut you off
"He left me for the person he told me not to worry about" her tone was filled with sadness but her eyes showed her true rage
"And I feel horrible about it I-" you stopped talking when you were met with a slap across the face, you drooped your head to the side and removed the hair that had fallen on your face "I probably deserve that" you groaned
"Yeah you do" and she did it again
You understood where her anger was coming from but you weren't going to let yourself get slapped around, especially not punched which was what she was about to do until you grabbed her hand "I don't want to fight"
The alcohol in her system definitely gave her some liquid courage. She attempted to use her free hand to hit you but you grabbed it and pushed her into the concrete wall "Stop it"
She ended up kicking you back causing you to let go and once she was out of your grip she pushed you onto the floor. You didn't want to fight her, there was no need. But she was drunk and she wouldn't back up. You got to your feet and ducked when she tried to hit you again, punches were being thrown left and right. Somehow you ended up towering over her with your fist in the air until you felt someone wrap their arms around your waist, lifting you up and pulling you back. You looked ahead of you and saw Luke lifting max from the floor and holding her back as she attempted to reach you. Her eye was bruised and her nose was bleeding, your eyes traveled down to her hand to find her knuckles red and had a little bit of blood.
When you saw the blood you wiped your mouth with the back of your hand and blood was smeared on your skin when you looked down. It must have been your lip since you didn't taste any blood in your mouth. You shrugged the person holding you back and realized it was Spencer. You could already see the regret on his face.
When you turned back around Luke was next to you and Spencer. His eyebrows raised and Max walking back into the bar. you groaned in frustration.
"I'm going home" you sucked your teeth and began walking down the street
"Wait" Luke grabbed your wrist and spun you around "What the hell was that?"
You glanced over at Spencer and sighed "I promise I will explain everything soon, but right now I want to go home, tell the team the truth, I got into a fight but don't say with who, and Spencer took me home"
"But-"
"Don't worry" Spencer whispered something into Luke's ear and he smiled, he nodded and walked away
...
"Ow" you smacked Spencer's hand away
"Sorry" he whispered as he cleaned your bottom lip
You were sitting on his kitchen counter, well soon to be your counter as well, you hadn't moved all your things out of your apartment yet.
"She was good I'm not going to lie" you whimpered as he cleaned the cut under your eye
"Yeah she took self-defense classes after Cat took her family" he threw the wipes into the trash behind him and walked over to the freezer to grab an ice pack
"Cat the woman that framed you?" you asked as he walked back over to you
"Yep" he gently placed the ice pack over your knuckles and kissed your temple
You placed your head into the crook of his neck and mumbled into his chest "I feel like crap"
"Me too" he stroked your hair
"Why do you feel like crap"
"I didn't want to hurt her in the process of us finally being able to be together but it was inevitable" he whispered and kissed the top of your head
"Do you regret marrying me?"
"No" he gently pushed off his chest and cradled your face "All I meant is that I wanted to skip the whole hurt someone else in order to be happy, you are the light of my life I could never regret marrying you, marrying you was the best decision I have ever made"
You smiled and leaned into him, kissing his lips. "Ow" you mumbled into his mouth
"Sorry" he pulled away and kissed your forehead "Now where is your ring"
"On the dresser" you watched him run into the room you now shared and run back with a ring in hand. Luckily your left hand was fine and he placed the ring on your ring finger. You smiled and admired the small wedding band while Spencer put on his. The both of you ran over to Macy's and got the first rings you could find. Eventually, an update would be made but for now, this was perfect
"Look at us" you giggled "Mr. and Mrs. Reid" you loved repeating those words to yourself over and over again
"It just has such an amazing ring to it" he hummed
"It really does" you interlocked your hand with his and admired the site. You had never felt such warmth in your heart and such happiness. There were some kinks that needed to be worked out but this was just perfect

You looked around the office and realized no one was around, it was a lunch break. Spencer was at his desk and noticed his attempt to help his pain, he was still sore sometimes from the gunshot wound. He had refused painkillers and you were proud but felt bad at the same time. You crept up behind him and placed your hands on his shoulders and bent down to whisper in his ear
"Do you need a little help" you giggled and slowly kissed down his neck, sucking on the soft skin
"Well now that you offered" he let his head fall back and his eyes traveled to your lips
"When we get home" you poked his nose and he scrunched his face, it was adorable. This beautiful adorable man was your husband, you could repeat it a hundred times and never get tired. He was your husband
You stood up straight and turned around to find JJ standing in front of you, your smile quickly faded away "JJ h-hey h-hi" you stood a step back and bumped into Spencer's leg, he had turned around and looked up "What's up"
She crossed her arms over her chest and glanced between you and Spencer "Just a quick question, what happened the other night, I got to the bar and you just left"
"Oh I ran into some drunk girl and it got a little out of hand" you nervously laughed
"Damn" she shook her head "By the way did you ever hook up with Luke again"
Your jaw dropped and you took a quick glance down at Spencer who pretended to be intrigued. "You did what with Luke"
You looked back up to JJ who was slowly walking away, her phone rang "I have to take this"
You swallowed the lump in your throat and looked back down to Spencer who wiped the fake smile off his face and raised his eyebrows "Let me ask again, you did what with Luke"
