Chapter 1 - Anything Could Happen.
*Beep Beep Beep*
My eyes shot open at the sound of my alarm clock. Looking over, the blue numbers told me it was 5:00 am, time for my run. Sighing, I got out of bed and went over to my walk in closet to change into spandex shorts and a t-shirt and put my hair up into a ponytail. As I walked out of my room I grabbed my IPod off the charger before heading out the door. I walk out the door and the smell of the woods near my house filled my lungs. I walked to the path leading into the forest and started my morning run through the woods.
By the time I got home it was 6:00 am. As I walked through the door, the small of bacon and eggs wafted from the kitchen, and as I got closer to the source of the smell, I could hear my parents laughing. Pushing the door open I entered the large kitchen. My mom was standing in front of the stove with a pan of bacon on the left and a pan of eggs on the right. My dad was standing behind her, his arms around her waist, and he was whispering in her ear. They looked so happy, and they had yet to notice me.
"If you don't mind, I like my eggs without anything gross in them thanks" I said. They both looked up at me before giving me an evil grin. Before I realize what was happening, my mom turned around and they started into a heated make out session, "Okay that is so gross! I think I am going to eat an apple instead. Ew!" I yelled before turning around and running out of the kitchen. The mental image of my parents burned into my brain.
I made my way up to my bedroom, and walked into my bathroom. I turned the water on as cold as I could before taking off my sweat drenched cloths, and hopping under the cold stream. As soon as the water hit my skin, it started to soothe my sore muscles. I washed my hair with my vanilla shampoo and conditioner, and washed my body with the soy and almond body wash. Once I felt clean I got out and wrapped a towel around my body and one around my hair before walking out of the bathroom and into my closet.
I looked around before deciding on black skinny jeans, a fuzzy gray sweater with a black heart on it, and a gray knit beanie. After changing I walked back into my bathroom and put my curling iron on before pulling out my make-up bag. I applied a minimal amount of eyeliner and mascara before turning my attention on curling my long brown hair. After I finished I unplugged my curling iron, grabbed a pair of gray shoes and headed downstairs.
I walked into the kitchen and saw that my parents had left, most likely for work. They also left no food for me. Jerks! I walk over to the counter, and saw a yellow sticky note.
Elane, you said you didn't want any so we decided to eat it all, no hard feelings... :) grab an apple from the fridge. Have a good day and see you after school! Love Mom and Dad.
I love them but I hate them. I walked to the fridge and grabbed an apple before walking to the front door, grabbing my bag, and my car keys, and walking out to my yellow punch buggy.

I pulled up to school and got out of my car. My boyfriend Daniel came up to me and gave me a kiss before taking my hand and walking me to my locker. My best friend Jessica was waiting for me. When she saw me she squealed before running up to me and throwing her arms around me.
"Elane! You are the top candidate for prom queen! You are so going to win it!!!" She screamed in my ear. I laughed before replying, "You are so funny! Who cares if I win? Its prom! It is going to be a blast!"
The bell rang signalling time for class. Jessica ran off without responding, and Daniel started pulling me towards our first period class, English. As we walked through the halls, we got a mix of stares. Guys ogling at me and girls giving me death glares. We just ignored them and soon enough we got to class. Ms. Roque came in and when the second bell went to signal class started, she began her lesson.
I went through English class, reading Lord of the Flies, and then I had Hospitality. I walked in the class and saw my favourite teacher, Ms. Allen. When class started, she handed out the recipes to the group that was cooking. I was handed the recipe for cheesecake. My favourite snack! My group decided on making multiple small ones, and by the time we were finished, we had made 20 cheesecakes, and since we were a group of 3, and we had to give some to the principal to bribe him so he didn't cut our budget, we each got to take 5.
When the bell went signalling lunch, I had eaten 2 cheesecakes, and was in line waiting to buy a chicken caesar wrap from the cafe. After paying for my lunch, I walked over to my friends. They were sitting at our usual table in the corner by the window. As I walked closer to the table, Daniel looked up at me and smiled.
"There is my pretty girl." He gushed, making me blush slightly. I smiled at him and sat down next to him.
"Hey babe, are you coming over after school today?" I asked him, opening the plastic container keeping my wrap hostage.
"Of course I am! Hey, what's in the box?" He asked reaching for the box with my cheesecakes in them. I slapped his hand away before he could touch the box.
"My. Cheesecake. Do. Not. Touch." I said in a serious tone. He put his hands up in surrender before turning to talk to his friend.
I picked my wrap up and took a bite. The flavours hit my tongue and I moaned in pleasure. My friends all looked at me and Daniel laughed.
"What? Have you tried this? It is amazing!!! Foodgasm!!" I said to them all. They just shook their heads.
"Foodgasm? That is not a real word! You just made that up!" Jess said. I picked up a piece of chicken that had fallen out of my wrap and threw it at her. It hit her right between the eyes. "Okay okay it is a word! Don't throw more food!" She yelled throwing her arms up for protection.
I laughed before devouring the rest of the wrap and diving into my box of cheesecake, eating another one. "How do you eat like you eat and look like you look?" Daniels friend James asked me.
I looked at him and laughed, "I run every morning. That's how smart one." I said with a smile and a little sarcasm. Before he could respond the bell rang. Great, more class. I was off to Biology.

It was the end of the day. Finally I was free! I walked outside to find Daniel and Jessica talking by my car. They looked like they were in a heated argument. Jessica had her back to me, and she was waving her arms around wildly. Before I got close enough to hear what they were saying, Daniel saw me over Jess's shoulder and must have said something because Jess left without looking back and saying anything to me. As I approached my car, Daniel came over and gave me a kiss.
"How was your day beautiful?" He said with his charming smile. I stared into his bright green eyes and smiled. Instead of answering him I pulled him close to me and kissed him deep and hard. We spent the next five minutes in a heated make-out session before we finally broke apart, panting, our lips swollen.
"That good eh?" I just smiled at him, "Okay let's go. I know you, and I know that you are going to want to stop and get cheese balls and pop from the store before we go to your house." He said, giving me a quick peck before opening my door and walking to the passenger side door and getting in.
We stopped at the Wal-mart and I walked through the aisles putting any type of junk I could find into the cart. Daniel stopped me before I reached the cash and pulled out most of the snacks. All he left was the cheese balls, the bag of mini eggs, and the 2L Dr. Pepper. I groaned but didn't argue as we got to the checkout. I reached into my bag to grab the money, but Daniel beat me and paid for it himself. He was so amazing to me!
We pulled into the driveway, and my Moms car was there. She must have gotten off early today. We walked into the house and I called for her. "Mom? Hello? Anyone home?" I yelled.
"Maybe she went out?" Daniel asked. I shook my head.
"She would have taken the car, or left a note. Come search the house. I will look upstairs you look downstairs. Holler if you find her. I'm sure she either fell asleep or she can't hear us. Go!" I said to him before walking up the spiral staircase.
Something was wrong. I could feel it in my gut. The house was to quiet. She wasn't in my room, or her room, or the guest room. She wasn't anywhere upstairs. I had to think. Where did I not check? Maybe she was in her closet. She did listen to her phone when she organized. I walked in the direction of her room, and opened the closet door. Suddenly a scream filled the house, and it took me a second to realize that it was coming from me. Daniel was behind me in seconds, and I put my face in his chest as sobs ripped through my body.
