Draco
Draco was sitting on the bed playing with the watch that Hermione had given him when Blaise walked in, and sat beside him
"Draco..."
"How is she?" Draco asked
"Draco—" Blaise began
"How is she?"
Blaise sighed, he couldn't tell the complete plan because he couldn't risk it, he pulled the newspaper and gave it to Draco
Draco read the article and shot out of bed
"Draco—"
"I should have protected her! I never should have left her!" Draco yelled
Blaise stood up and stopped him
"Draco...stop, you can't" Blaise whispered
"My fiancée is in the hospital! I am not going to stand here discussing this with you while she's over there alone!"
"Draco! You try to go see her and your mother will drag you out of there and marry you off before you can say your full name!"
Draco began pacing, all he wanted to do was go find his fiancée but he knew that his mother would drag him away
"Then...you have to tell her Blaise, you have to tell her what happened, tell her I love her, that I would never hurt her like that" Draco ordered him
Blaise nodded
"I will, don't worry I will" Blaise promised
Draco sighed in defeat and sat down
"All I wanted was to marry her..."
Blaise sat beside him
"Let's go into the muggle world...get your head out of all this"
Draco shook his head but Blaise was determined, he pulled him up and dragged him out of the room
"Put on your shoes" Blaise ordered
Draco swore under his breath but listened, they walked out of the house and dissaperated, they arrived to an alleyway and walked to the Main Street
They walked past a jewelry store and Draco stopped, he looked at an engagement ring that he knew Hermione would have loved, he walked away and Blaise followed
"Had I just stayed with her..." Draco mumbled
"It wasn't your fault Draco, your mother abused her power and magic"
Blaise pulled him down an alleyway that heads to the hospital
"Did you know...my father was in love with a muggle born witch when he was younger" Draco confessed "he was going to run away with her when my mother told my grandfather...before my father died he told me to never let my love slip" Draco whispered
"Draco..."
"I failed him Blaise...the one thing my father asked of me I failed"
They arrived in front of the hospital, Blaise turned Draco around
"We only have a few moments, this is where Hermione had been in, once we get in we don't know how long Theo will be able to hold your mother off, you can say goodbye and explain what happened" Blaise said and dragged him in, they quickly walked to the ICU and walked to Hermione's room
They entered and Draco saw Hermione, she turned to him and glared
"Go away" she ordered
"Hermione..." Draco whispered and walked to her "Hermione..."
"If you didn't want to marry me you could have just said so, you didn't need to humi—"
Draco interrupted her by kissing her, he pulled back and connected their foreheads
"I love you, I want to marry you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you" Draco told her, cupping her cheek as she started to cry
"But you can't...you're marrying Astoria..." she cried and tired to pull away from him, he kissed her again and shook his head
"I'm marrying you, I swear I'll marry you" he promised her
"Draco..." Hermione cried
"Marry me..." he whispered
"I can't, your mother won't allow you to marry me"
"Actually...he can"
Draco and Hermione looked up and saw Harry walking in with a wedding official
"Doing my research and I found out that since Draco proposed to you first and you accepted, the second proposal is still annulled, you can choose to marry Draco right now if you wish, the bond will go through" Harry explained
"But my mother—" Draco began
"Is at St. Mungo's, Hannah and Luna are still stalling her but it be for long" Harry said
Draco looked at Hermione and waited for her answer
"But..." she said
"Hermione...I understand that this isn't how you wanted to get married, but I guarantee you that if you don't do this, you will regret it, no one will ever make you as happy as Draco does" Harry said and walked up to her "I know you need to do your research, which is why I did it, I know everything you will need to know, Hermione...you deserve happiness and Malfoy is it for you...you deserve happiness Hermione..."
Draco watched the turmoil in her eyes, she looked at Harry then at the officiant and then to Draco, she took his hand and pulled him close
"Marry me" she whispered
Draco exhaled and nodded, she turned to the officiant and nodded, the officiant began and Draco looked at Hermione, this wasn't ideal, he never imagined marrying Hermione while she was in a hospital bed and was wearing a hospital gown, Draco wasn't better off, he was wearing a pair of jeans and sweater that he stole from Blaise
"Draco Malfoy do you take Hermione Granger as your lawfully wedded wife, to care and love her through thickness and health till death do you part?"
"I do" Draco answered without hesitation
"Hermione Granger do you take Draco Malfoy as your lawfully wedded husband to care and love through thickness and health till death do you part?"
"I do" Hermione answered
"Please crossed your wands" the officiant said, Hermione turned to Harry and he handed her his wand, Draco pulled out his and they crossed their wands, the officiant tapped their wands three times and a golden string wrapped itself around and burned itself onto the wands
"By the power vested in me I pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride"
Draco kissed her and felt his magic connect with hers
There was a loud noise outside the room, they pulled away and Draco saw his mother storming towards the room
"Draco Malfoy!" She yelled
Hermione gripped Draco's hand and he pulled her in, Harry led the wedding officiant away as the furious witch stormed into the room
"How dare you disobey me!?" She yelled "how dare you taint the lines with a mudblood!?"
"Do not disrespect my wife!" Draco yelled at her
"I will fix this, I will annul this marriage and you will marry Astoria!" She yelled
"No I will not! I will be damned if you tamper with my marriage!"
"Draco..." Hermione whispered
His mother opened her mouth to retort again but Hermione spoke up
"Mrs. Malfoy, your son is a grown man, he chose to marry me...a mother's job is to love their child no matter how much it may hurt, and it may be possible that this is how you protect him but I love Draco, I don't care about his money or anything else, I just love him and I promise to love and protect him, I understand that you will probably never accept me but don't disown your son" she pleaded
Draco saw his mother glare at Hermione
"Miss Granger anyone who says that they don't care about my sons money is lying, now I understand that you have your ow—"
"Draco likes to read" Hermione interrupted
"I beg your pardon?" His mother asked
"Draco likes to read, and he loves to read the same books I do, and he's the only person who can keep a conversation with me, I don't care about his money, he could have been the poorest of the the poor but I would still love him, because he'll never let me get bored" Hermione told his mother "so you can hate me and try to tamper with my marriage but I will never stop loving Draco, he is the better half of me" she said and looked at Draco
Draco looked at her before looking at his mother
"Mother, you can disown me, strip me off my inheritance but I won't let you ruin my marriage"
His mother looked at him and then at Hermione before storming away, Hermione sighed and leaned into her husband
"Well...perfect way to start our married life" Hermione mumbled, Draco chuckled and nodded
