Planting crops is one of THE MOST important things to do first in the valley.
When you start the game, the first thing you should do is plant the 15 parsnip seeds you receive in the box ⬇️you find in your house.⬇️
Make sure to water you plants every day so they can grow. Crafting or buying a scarecrow is very helpful as well when planting, it will scare crows away from destroying your crops.
You can find seeds for crops in many different areas including: Pierres General Store, Joja Mart, and the Traveling Cart. I highly suggest to go to Pierres, because unlike him; Joja Corp is evil, but lets not get to that right now. You can buy seeds in other places, like the Winter Market or Oasis Store, but the first stated

When crops/animal products are received, they will either have no icon, a silver icon, a gold icon, or a purple icon, which will determine how much you will sell it for and how high quality it is. No star is regular quality, to purple which is best quality. (icon=star)⬇️

Now let's just learn about giant crops real quick..
To make a giant crop, you should be planting a 3x3 grid of crops that are the same seeds (Cauliflower, Melon, or Pumpkin) and grow them. When all your crops are fully grown, you have a 1% chance of getting a giant crop. But, no worries! If you don't get a giant crop on the first batch, you're just fine! You'll have almost all year to try again.
