Chapter Four: Aiden Swan
Colin and I sat under a tree, holding hands and smiling at people walking pass us. I don't know how I am suppose to feel after my meeting with Riley. I wonder how stupid she thinks I am. It's not like I haven't heard. I know Riley is in love with me. I'm not in love with her though. When I close my eyes, it's Colin I think about. Not Riley. I can't let her in. Not like that. Not like I can with Colin. Besides, when you start dating your best friend. Things change, shit happens. I can't risk losing Riley. Just like I need Colin and my razor. I need her too.
"Hey, so? What are we doing tomorrow? A little laser party?"
"Yeah, kinda a double date with other people." Colin chuckles.
"Who's all going?"
"Well, Oliver and Riley are going together. Not to mention. Max and Callum." Colin starts laughing.
"Max? Edwards? Doesn't he hate you?"
"I'm going for Riley." He lets go of my hand and groans.
"Riley. Riley. Riley. RILEY! Seriously, what makes her so special Aiden?" I chuckle.
"Funny, she asked the same thing about you."
"She has no right to question you. I'm your boyfriend. Who does she think she is? That fucking bitch." I turn to look at him.
"Do not call her that. Do you fucking understand me?" I practically shouted at him. Colin glared at me.
"Since when did she start meaning more to you than me? Like what the hell is this?"
"It's not even like that." Colin shook his head.
"Yes it is. I want you to choose, right now. It is going to be Riley or me?" I roll my eyes.
"You can't be serious."
Colin gets up. "If you can't choose then I suppose we are done." I felt my heart sank. I can't lose you. You can't fucking leave me.
"No, I can't. I choose you Colin. I love you." Colin stops and comes back and sits by me.
"Then I want you to stop talking to her. Do you understand me?"
"Okay," I whispered. We share a kiss. JUst what did I just agree to?
Meanwhile.....
"Come on in Riley, the water is great." Oliver shouted. Riley looked around, the building smelled like pool water. The room was hot. LIke a sansa. Oliver looked great in the water. His green eyes sparkling under his wet eyelids. She felt half naked, wearing her two piece panda suit. He told her she looked stunning in it. She felt awkward.
"That's alright, I like watching you swim anyway." He chuckled.
"Don't tell me, you can't swim." Riley laughed.
"I can swim." She whispered. The water went platter platter as he swam towards the edge and climbed out. Riley had to catch her breath as he walked over to her. Dripping water and looking at her with her killer green eyes.
"Come swim with me," He whispered. She couldn't find her voice. He grabbed her hand and without warning, he pushed her into the water. She screamed.
"Oliver!" She shouted. He laughed. She shook her head back and forth. "I'm going to get you back."
"If you say so." He smiled and jumped in. Riley turned around and dunked him under the water.
"There, we are even." She said as she watched Oliver jump up and splutter.
"Is that how you wanna play baby?" He teased. He ducked back under the water and grabbed her foot, pulling her under. She couldn't yelp so she kicked, almost hitting Oliver in the face. They both came up for air, laughing and smiling. "You almost kicked me in the face."
"Yeah, I know." Riley says giggling. They float there, smiling and looking at each other. "So,"
"Are you hungry?" She's trying not to stare at his lips but God. He makes it hard. He smiles. "Riley, are you hungry?" He asks again. Shre snaps her head out of her daydream.
"Yeah, what are we having?' He swam towards the edge of the pool and got out. Riley followed after him.
"I thinkyour a girl who likes suprises more than anything. So, let's go."
Back with Aiden...
I sat upstairs in my room, staring at my phone. Colin kept telling me that I had to choose. Why did I pick so quickly? I didn't even fucking thnk. I just chose Colin. And why? Because I was scared to lose him. I got up and started pacing back and forth. Why was this so fucking hard? My door opens and my mother walks in. I stop. "What are you doing in here?" I asked.
"Someone is here to see you." I watch as Max walks in my room and makes a face.
"Oh God, what's the dead odor?" I glare at him.
"What do you want?" I groan. Max glances at my mother.
"Are you sure you wanna talk with your mother here?" My mother heads towards the door.
"I won't be a bother. Rememeber son? I'm dead to you." The door closes and Max whistles.
"Wow, what a family you have here Aiden."
"What are you doing here?"
"What the hell are you doing?" He asked, glaring at me. I sigh and sit on my bed. I don't have time for this. "Colin said something about everyone leaving you alone. New question. Explain to me what I ever did to you." I ignore him. He grabbed my wrist.
"Let me go." I said.
"I asked you a question Aiden. Why are you doing this? Does Riley mean anything to you?"
I glare at him. "You don't know anything about us."
"She fucking loves you, I know that."
"And you don't think I don't know that?"
"I didn't ask if you know. I asked if you cared. Do you? Do you think I like listening to her cry about you? No. Not ehen I know she can do so much better than trash like yourself." I sigh. I can't even get mad because I know that's true. I also didn't want to talk about this right now. I love Riley too much to try and get with her. Can't you see that? "Don't come running back to her when he treats you like ass." He storms out my room and my door slams. My brain hurts. I don't even know what's right and wrong anymore. I'm confused as fuck. My razor plays a bloody picture. It reminds me of my happy place. Pain and blood. I walk to the bathroom. I think you guys kmow what's happening next.
Meanwhile...
"Do you always take pretty girls to the beach after swimming?" Oliver chuckled.
"Oh, only the really pretty girls." Riley blushes and Oliver pops a grape in his mouth.
"Let me try," She teased.
"What if you fail?' He teased, raising an eyebrow. She laughs.
"I'll let you bury me." Oliver shook his head.
"How about a kiss?" Riley blushes super red. She wasn't expecting this. Oliver does a slight blush too as he smiles. "So?"
So what?" She teased.
"Ready?" She blushed but nodded. Oliver tossed the grape and as Riley gussed, she missed. Oliver smirked. "You failed," Riley laid back on her towel.
"And my lips still haven't been kissed yet." Oliver chuckled.
He came over her, hoovering over her face. Riley was squinting, looking at Oliver. His right hand went to her face. He touched her forehead and then her nose. Then slowly, he brushed his index finger down her lips. He leaned close to her face. Riley could smell the minty flavor jump from his lips to her nose. She feels her face get hot. "You look so beautiful." He whispered. She nodded. What the hell are you doing? KIss me already. You already have my scared shitless.
"Okay," She said. He lets out the most cutest laugh and he brushes his lips aganist hers. Riley thinks about Aiden for five seconds until Oliver kisses her. Riley lets her lips slip and Oliver doesn't hesitate to put his tonuge in her mouth. They kiss for what seems like forever.
"WHOA THERE!" Callum shouts. Oliver pulls away and Riley sits up, hitting Oliver in the face. Callum walks up to them, wearing brown khakis and a button up white shirt with a black tie. He has a camera in his hand.
"Geez," They groan. Callum starts laughing and snaps a photo.
"Damn, why don't you just swallow her Oliver?" They both turn red. "So, are you guys dating?" Oliver and Riley kiss again.
"Well, I was gonna ask her out. What are you doing here Callum?"
"Just, ya know? Poking around." Oliver looks back at Riley and smiles.
"Do you wanna go out with me?" Riley giggles and nods. He smiles. "So, a yes?" Callum blushes as they kiss again.
"Oh my goodness," He whispered.
Back with Aiden...
I dialed Riley's number. It went straight to voicemail. "Hey, it's Ril. I'm busy. Forever alone with my cats. Leave me a message and possibly let's go on a date?" The phone beeped and I smiled. It felt great, hearing her voice. I couldn't find the words to say what was needed to be said. "Hey Riley, uh. I can't come to the laser tag that you invited me too. I um... I have to go visit my grandmother." I hung up. I couldn't even say I love you. I start to cry. I hated Colin. If he loved me, why would he make me choose? Did he have doubt? Did he know? I'm too sad to figure things out. My wrists hurt and it's not in a good way. Just what the fuck is wrong with me?
