V Storm an honor student transferring to Ouran Acadamy was currently on a search for a quiet library.
"Hmph, this place has four library's you'd think at least one would be quiet."
"How are things in heaven Mom? I can't believe it's been ten years already. I'm beginning to think that rich kids only come to school to enjoy themselves."
V soon makes it to a door labeled 'Music room 3'
"I guess this is the only place I'll be able to study in peace."
As V opens the door rose petals drift around and a group of boys greet them
"Welcome!"
V looks confused
"This is a host club?"
A pair of identical twins speak up
"Oh wow, it's a boy!"
A tall man wearing glasses starts speaking as well
"Janus, Remus, I believe this young man is in the same class as you, isn't he?"
"Yeah, but he's shy. He doesn't act very sociably, so we don't know much about him."
"Hm. Well, that wasn't very polite. Welcome to the Ouran Host Club, Mr. honor student."
An attractive ginger speaks up
"What? You must be V Storm! You're the extraordinary honor student we've heard about."
V sweatdrops
"How did you know my name?"
The ravenette speaks again
"Why, you're notorious. It's not every day that a commoner gains entrance into our academy. You must have an audacious nerve to work hard enough to fight your way into this school as an honor student Mr. Storm."
"Well uh, thanks I guess."
The ginger from before suddenly buts in
"You're welcome. You're a hero to other poor people, Storm. You've shown the world that even a poor person can excel at an elite private academy. It must be hard for you to constantly be looked down upon by others."
"I think you're taking this 'poor' thing a bit too far."
"Spurned. Neglected. But that doesn't matter now. Long live the poor! We welcome you poor man, to our world of beauty."
"I'm outta here."
A small blond boy speaks up before V turns to leave
"Hey! Come back here V-chan! You must be like a superhero or something. That's so cool!"
"I'm not a hero. I'm an honor student. And who are you calling "V-chan"!?"
The ginger suddenly speaks yet again
"I never would've imagined the famous academic would be so openly gay."
V looks amazed and dumbfounded at this guy
"Openly what?"
The ginger leans closer to V's face
"So tell me what kind of guys you're into. Do you like the boy Lolita? How about the mischievous type, or the cool type?"
"Uh... I, uh... It's not like that. I was just looking for a peaceful place to study."
"Or maybe... You're into a guy like me. What do you say?"
V backs away extremely uncomfortable and accidentally backs into a vase
She tries to grab it but it's too late and it shatters
The twins groan and one of them speaks up
"We were going to feature that Renaissance vase in an upcoming school auction."
The other twin speaks
"Oh, now you've done it, commoner. The bidding on that vase was supposed to start at ¥8,000,000!"
"What? ¥8,000,000!? How many thousand yen is that? How many thousands are in a million?"
V starts the calculations and mutters
"Uh, I'm gonna have to pay you back."
The twins speak again
"With what money? You don't even have the money for a school uniform."
One of them asks V
"What's with that grubby outfit you've got on anyway?"
The black-haired boy speaks again
"Well, what do you think we should do Roman?"
"There's a famous saying you may have heard Storm, "When in Rome, you should do as the Romans do." Since you have no money, you can pay us with your body. That means starting today, you're the Host Club's dog."
V's eyes go wide at that
"I don't know if I can handle this Mom. I've been captured by a squad of boys that are calling themselves a host club."
The small boy pokes at V bringing them back to reality

A bit later Roman was wooing the ladies around him when one of them asks about V
"May I have a word with you Roman?"
"Yes?"
"I've recently heard the Host Club is keeping a little kitten without a pedigree."
"Well, I don't know if I would call him that. Speak of the devil! Thanks for doing the shopping little piglet. Did you get everything on our list?"
V walks up
"What? Piglet?"
Roman starts sorting through the bag picking an item out
"Hey, wait a minute, what is this?"
"Just what it looks like. It's coffee."
"I've never seen this brand before. Is this the kind that's already ground?"
"What do you mean? It's instant coffee."
The girls around mutter
"It's instant?"
Roman speaks again
"Whoa. I've heard of this before. It's commoners' coffee. You just add hot water."
The girls murmur amongst themselves and the black-haired boy speaks again
"Commoners are pretty smart."
One of the twins starts to speak again
"100 grams for ¥300?"
The other twin buds in
"That's a lot less than we normally pay."
V looks annoyed
"I'll go back and get something else. Excuse me for not buying you guys luxurious coffee."
Roman speaks again
"No, I'll keep it."
The crowd gasps
"I'm going to give it a try."
"I will drink this coffee!"
The crowd applauds and Roman asks V to make some
"I hate all these damn rich people."
The girl from before mutters into her tea
"Oh Roman, now you're taking the joke too far. Your palate won't be able to stomach that crap. You don't have to drink it just because he got it."
V looks over at her questioningly
"I'm sorry. I was talking to myself."
V is then called by Roman and the tasting commences

A bit later V got to see the hosts in action. Over by the twins, one of them was laughing and telling a story
"So he had this nightmare that made him dart up right out of bed."
"Remus! Don't tell them that story. I asked you not to tell anyone that. Why are you so mean to me?"
"I'm sorry Janus. I didn't mean to upset you, but you were so adorable when it happened I'm sorry."
"I forgive you."
The ladies squeal
"I've never seen brotherly love quite like that!"
V looks confused and agitated
"What are they so excited about? I just don't get it."
Over with the small boy
"Sorry, I'm running late."
"Hello, Patton."
"We've been waiting here for you hi."
"I'm sorry I was waiting for my brother to finish his kendo meeting and I fell asleep. And I'm still not completely awake."
(the style of writing kinda changes here)
"So cute!" The girls chorused blushing, Patton giggles and smiles at them.
V looks over at them "Is that boy really a third-year student?"
From behind her the ravenette from before, Logan, speaks "Patton-Senpai may seem young and childlike but he's a prodigy."
Just then Patton rushes over "V-Chan! Hey, V-Chan do you wanna go have some cake with me?"
V smiles slightly and politely says "Thanks but I don't really like cake"
Patton smiles and asks instead "Then how about you watch my bunny Usa-Chan instead?"
"I don't really like bunnies either-" V starts but looking at the plush bunny she couldn't help it
"I guess he is kinda cute , huh?" V says
Patton's eyes widen a bit but he immediately recovers and beams again "Take good care of him, okay?" He then giggles and runs off
The ravenette speaks again "You'll notice that our club utilizes each man's unique characteristics to cater to the desires of our guests. Just so you know, Tamaki is number one around here. He's the king. His request rate is 70%."
V sweatdrops and mutters "What's this world coming to?"
"And in order for you to pay off your ¥8,000,000 debt with us, you will act as the Ouran Host Club's dog until you graduate. I'm sorry, I meant our errand boy. You can try to run away if you want to Haruhi, but just so you know, my family employs a priavte police force of 100 officers. By the way, do you have a passport?"
V simply says "huh?"
The ginger, Roman, walks up speaking "You're going to have to work hard to pay off that debt, my little nerd. You need a makeover or no girls going to look twice at you."
"Yeah well I'm not trying to get girls to look at me."
"Are you kidding me? That's the most important thing. You have to learn to be a gentleman and please the ladies, like me."
V sighs "I just don't think it's all that important."
Roman hums and V starts talking again
"Why should I care about appearances and labels anyway? I mean, all that really matters is what's on the inside right? I don't understand why you even have a host club like this."
Roman chuckles a bit and retorts
"It's a cruel reality isn't it? It's not often God creates a perfect person like moi, beautiful inside and out."
"Say what?"
"I understand how you feel since not everyone is blessed as I am, but you must console yourself. Otherwise how would you go on living? (~Huh.~) And think about this V. Why do you think they put works of art in museums? Because beauty should be shared with the world, and those born beautiful should (~There's a word to describe people like him.~) promote other beautiful things. That's why I started this club in the first place. I did it for those who are (~Hmm. What is it?~) starved for beauty. For those working day and night, pursuing beauty. And although (~Aw man, I wish I could remember that word. Hmmm~) your looks may be average, and you have a few negative characteristics, I've chosen to share my expertise with you. Here's a tip. When setting down your glass, extend your pinky finger as a cushion, and that way when you set it down you won't be (~Uhh~) making a lot of noise. Gentlemen do not (~maybe...~) make loud sounds. Besides, (~"a pain in the neck"?~) a gentleman looks much more refined (~No, there's something that fits him perfectly~) that way. I like to check my reflection.., but above all else V, you must remember, how effective a glance to the side can be. (Huh. I got it!) Oh, did I strike a chord? (Obnoxious!)"

The twins, Janus and Remus, start laughing and Janus says
"You're a hero alright."
His other twin says uh-huh
And V looks back at poor Roman saying "I'm sorry senpai, but your lesson did strike a small chord with me."
