CHAPTER ONE:
Routine

Tw// Gore, anything typically mentioned in an episode of Criminal Minds. The beginning of this chapter holds an original case!

First Day Of My Life by Bright Eyes
"But I realized I needed you
And I wondered if I could come home"

"FBI!" Blair shouted as Derek kicked down the door to the unsub's home. It was their routine; the acts they would execute on every case. "Darrell Fogle, show yourself!"

The rest of the team followed them into the empty house. They each took a room, shouting the occasional 'clear' when they couldn't find Fogle.

"We know you're here, Darrell. Might as well come out now," Morgan taunted.

As Blair entered the final bedroom, she found the unsub awaiting her arrival. Her teammates, Cooper, Morgan, Hotch, and Prentiss quickly filled in around her. Each one of them had their gun at the ready. Standing closest to Fogle, Blair pointed the gun directly at him, making sure to aim away from the woman in his arms.

"Drop the gun, Darrell. It's over," Blair demanded. He tightened his grip around the victims body while pressing his gun to her temple, causing her to scream. The team wanted to just reach over and help the woman, but they knew Fogle had other plans.

"No! She get's what she deserved! Just like the rest of them!" He roared as he moved his finger to the trigger of his gun. Blair saw his advances,

BANG!

Fogle's body collapsed to the ground. Hotch and Morgan exited the bedroom and made their way to inform SWAT they weren't needed any longer. Prentiss ran over to the victim, comforting her and making sure she was alright. Blair walked over to the body now lying in front of her. She quickly checked for a pulse, noticing it was absent. She had killed the unsub. Normally she would feel slight remorse, but in this case, all she felt was satisfaction. Satisfaction that the serial rapist and murderer was gone. Dead.

Cooper approached her from behind, putting a hand on her shoulder, "You okay?"

"Surprisingly, I feel nothing," she shrugged.

He nodded, "Good, because you deserve this."

She cocked her head to the side, furrowing her dark eyebrows, before Cooper could throw a playful punch against her forearm.

"What was that for?" Blair jokingly whined as she pretended to be in pain, rubbing her perfectly fine arm.

"That was my shot!" He complained.

Blair scoffed, "In your dreams, Coop!" The two friends laughed as they made their way out of the bedroom. Forensics would be in soon to clean up their mess.

"Hey, nice shot, Addams," Prentiss gave a congratulatory high five as they joined the rest of their team in the living room.

"You shot him?" Rossi asked, not surprised.

Blair nodded, "Yup," she spoke, popping the 'p'.

"No fair! She's winning by a long shot!" Reid whined.

The team had a long standing game, you could say. Each time they shot or disarmed an unsub, they would get a tally. Whoever had the most tallies by the end of the year, won. Blair had been winning all year, with Riley quickly behind, and Morgan and Prentiss going back and forth for third. JJ and Reid were always in last. Rossi and Hotch refused to participate, saying it was against their 'moral code' as agents, but they didn't stop the young ones from playing along.

As they made their way outside to the chilly, night sky, Blair found herself looking around for their boss. She stood in the doorway of the house, glancing each way, not seeing him. Shrugging it off, she made her way over to the rest of her team.

"Alright everyone, let's wrap this up and head back to the bureau," a familiar deep and stern voice interrupted their conversation. They all dispersed, heading off to their respected SUVs.

"Oh! I left my badge inside, I'll be right back," Reid exclaimed as he scurried off to the house.

"Addams, a moment please," Hotch spoke as the two of them made their way to the SUV.

"What's up, Hotch?" She asked.

"Nice work today with Fogle. There was no other outcome, and you saved the victim," he praised her.

"Why thank you, sir," Blair was taken aback by his compliment, especially because they were in public.

He opened the front door for her and she slid into the passenger seat, giggling at his gestures. He closed her door and sped-walked around the front of the car to get into his side. As soon as his butt hit the seat, Blair's lips hit his. She cupped the sides of his face, him mimicking. They got lost in each other, their mouths fitting against one another, ever so perfectly. Before they could pull apart, the backdoor was opened to the car, and Reid quickly took his spot in the middle seat. He buckled his seat belt before finally looking up, seeing Blair and Hotch staring his way.

"What?" Reid asked, confused as to why they were staring at him.

Blair let out a loud laugh when it finally hit him, "Oh, gross! You two are disgusting, you couldn't have waited till you got home?" Blair continued to laugh through his complaints.

It's not that the couple was trying to hide their relationship from the team, no, everyone knew. It's just they weren't fond in showing any signs of PDA, even in front of their closest friends. Maybe if they went out to get drinks, but never at work.

Everyone was glad it was a local case, no long jet ride home. When they returned to the bureau, Hotch declared since it had been a long day, their paperwork could wait till Monday. He allowed them to pack up and head home for the weekend.

Blair collected her things off her desk located across from Cooper's.

"We on for tomorrow?" Riley asked, a grin on his face.

"Of course! I wouldn't miss it," Blair responded.

"Great, see you then!" He then made his way over to the last agent remaining that night, JJ. The two left the building together, leaving just Blair and her things on the floor.

Noticing the light still on in Hotch's office, she grabbed her brown messenger bag and made her way up the mini flight of stairs. She gently knocked before allowing herself in.

He glanced up from the file on his desk, "You're still here?"

"Aaron, when have I left without you?"

He shook his head with a sigh, knowing she was right. They always waited for each other.

"Come on, let's go. You said it yourself, paperwork can wait."

He closed the file, "Fine. Are you coming back to my place?" He asked while packing up the file along with his other belongings. Knowing their team members had left, he grabbed Blair's hand with his free one.

She gladly accepted his hand, "Is that even a question?" The two left Aaron's office and headed home.

It was like clockwork for them. They would go to work together, wait for one another to leave, then go to one of their houses for the night. Most of the time they would end up at his home. Aaron had thrown the idea of moving in together, but Blair refused, saying she needed her own private space. He didn't fully understand, knowing she was at his house 90% of the time, but he honored her wishes.

The two drove back together, due to Blair's car already being at Aaron's from the previous night. He kept one hand on the wheel, with the other settled on Blair's thigh the entire ride; the same as always. Every once in a while they would glance at each other at the same time.

The team always said they were in their 'honeymoon phase,' meaning everything seemed happy and carefree. They always thought the whole relationship was odd, especially in the beginning. Blair and Aaron were both the headstrong, take charge type. No one messed with them. No one bothered to get in their way. Rossi, on the other hand, disagreed. He claimed they were way past the honeymoon phase, for they had been dating for a little over a year. No matter what the team thought, deep down Rossi knew the two were meant to be.

Although at work they present their tough exteriors, behind closed doors was a completely different story. They were in love, there was no denying that.

The next morning Blair awoke first. She slid herself out of bed, carefully untangling her body from her boyfriend's without waking him up. She exited the bedroom and walked across the hall to Jack, Aaron's son's, bedroom. Seeing he was still tucked under the blankets asleep, she discreetly shut his door and made her way downstairs.

Once in the kitchen, she tied Aaron's white apron around her body. She threw her blonde, wavy hair into a loose pony, just like she always kept it, even at work. She hated the feeling of it against her neck. One time she tried cutting it shorter, almost to her shoulder blades, but she immediately regretted it. It looked horrible.

She began making breakfast for the boys, mixing water and pancake mix in a glass bowl to create the batter. As Blair poured the batter onto the pan, a pair of large arms snaked around her body. Giggling, she continued to make the pancakes.

Aaron wrapped his arms around her, hunching over to nuzzle his face into the crook of her neck, "Good morning, love," his low morning voice rang through her ears, sending chills over her body. He sent a kiss to her cheek before detaching himself and walking towards the coffee pot.

He poured himself a mug and turned to lean on the counter, watching Blair's hips sway as she glided across the kitchen and continued to make breakfast.

A tiny yawn interrupted his trance. Aaron turned his direction to the kitchen entrance, seeing a sleepy Jack.

"Hey, bud! How'd you sleep?" Blair asked energetically, setting the stack of pancakes in the center of the table.

Jack and Aaron both sat down at the table, "Good! I had a really good dream!" Jack responded eagerly.

"Really, what was it about?" Aaron asked. Blair joined them at the table and they each began to make their own plates.

"I was an Avenger! And I was best friends with Hulk and Spider-Man!"

The couple couldn't help but smile at the excited boy. It was no surprise he was dying to share his dream; Jack was obsessed with the Marvel series.

They continued to eat breakfast, full of small, family talk. It was normal, almost domestic.

"Jack, why don't you go get dressed for today?" Aaron requested once they were done eating. The six year old nodded and scurried off to his bedroom.

Blair began to collect the plates, but Aaron stopped her, "You made breakfast, at least let me clean up."

She huffed, "Fine, but only because I gotta run. I'm meeting Riley later."

He nodded, knowing she spent almost every Saturday with her best friend. She untied the apron and threw it over the pantry door before slipping on her shoes and grabbing her bag and coat from the rack.

"I'll see you later, love you!" Aaron called before she had a chance to exit his house.

"Yeah, yeah, love you too"

A/N

Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed chapter one:)

This was kind of just to introduce the dynamics in relationships, but of course we will dive into everything more soon!

I'm always open for feedback, so let me know what you think so far!

BTW- if you are confused: Riley Cooper is an original character I created. He is an agent among the team, along with Blair's best friend. More will be explained between the two next chapter:)
