I put my phone down and see my parents looking at me. I look back at them then mind my own business and keep eating.

"Who are you speaking to?" My dad asks. Yohhh. Can't they mind they're own damn business.

"No one." I say.

"Aviwe ndizokuqwaba. You are never gonna speak to me like that." He says. Mx.
(ndizokuqwaba - I'm gonna slap you)

"Sorry." I say.

"Ina. Go wash the dishes." He says giving me the plates.
(Ina - take)

"Kodwa I cooked." I say.
(Kodwa - but)

"Kodwa I'm telling you to wash the dishes." He says then I stand up and put the dishes in the sink. I roll up my sleeves to wash the dishes.
(Kodwa - but)

I finish then go upstairs, as I'm halfway through the stairs my dad calls me. At this point I'm gotdamn frustrated. Like I respect my parents and all, but at this point I'm shit annoyed.

I turn around and look at him. He tells me to come down the stairs then I do that.

I wait for him to talk. "Tonight you are not going anywhere." He says.

"What you mean." I ask confused.

"That you are gonna sleep in this house and wake up here tomorrow." He says. He fooling himself.

"Sure." I say then turn around to walk away then he pulls me back.

"Aviwe if you wanna be disrespectful leave my house, I will not have a child who can't follow my rules in my house!" He shouts then I just stay quiet and look at him.

"What will it be?" He asks then I move his hand from my arm.

"First, you know I respect you guys more than anything or anyone else in the world, but Tata you will not manhandle me. Secondly it's not like I'd have anywhere to go." I say. I'm sick of this shit.

I go upstairs to my room then message Miss Motaung.

Motaung😘😍🔥🔥

Would you be able to fetch me?

Oh, yah I don't mind

Yeah, please come. Even now is fine. Just need to leave this place.

What's happening?

I'll tell you later.

I put my phone down then go to my closet and pack my blue jeans, white sweatshirt, bucket hat and off-white sneakers. I pack my toiletries and everything I'll be using tomorrow.

As I'm packing my door opens. I carry on with what I'm doing. At this point I've stopped caring.

"Aviwe uyaphi?" My mother asks.
(Aviwe where are you going?)

"To a friend." I say then she looks at me. I let out a sigh then went to sit on my bed.

"What's really going on with you?" She asks then I shake my head.

"Aviwe." She says again.

"Nothing. It's just sometimes I feel like I'm treated too much like a child. I get good grades, I'm respectful, I listen to you guys, I do everything I'm supposed to. I'm not a rebellious child, buy today I deadass felt like one. But it's fine, Imma just dip cause clearly after today, just one day of not going to school I've become the most untrustworthy child." I say.

"Kodwa Aviwe when we asked you, the story was not making sense. And it felt like you were lying to us." She says.
(Kodwa - but)

"And I said you can call abazali baka Kamva. I'm sure they wouldn't mind." I say.
(And I said you can call Kamva's parents. I'm sure they wouldn't mind)

"Okay, mina I came to reason with you, and you know your father, so what you do now is up to you." She says then stands up.
(Mina - me)

"And I feel you should express what you told me to him." She adds then leaves my room.

I receive a message from Motaung telling me she's arrived. I go downstairs then leave the house.

"Watsup?" She asks once I get in the car.

"We'll talk." I say then she drives off.
