This fanfiction is based on the manga and Netflix series "Alice in Borderland". My story will be a combination of the two: it will partly follow the manga, but it also follows the events of the Netflix series.
Explanation of the Borderlands:
In the Borderlands, people are forced to participate in games that may result in their own death and/or the deaths of other participants. They have to, because they otherwise end up dying when their visas end. The duration of their visas will be determined by the level of the games they clear. The games are categorised by symbol and difficulty. A full set of poker cards is used for this. A stands for 1, then there's 2, 3 and so on. The J, Q and K are the highest of value.
The symbols of the cards stand for a certain specialty of the game.
Clubs ♣️: cooperation
Spades ♠️: physical
Diamonds ♦️: intelligence/mental
Hearts ♥️: psychological/treachery, playing with emotions
When a player cleared the game, he/she/they will receive a visa that equals the difficulty level of the game. When this visa ends, the player will have to participate in another game or he/she/they will be killed by a laser in the head. The players will be forced to keep playing if they want to survive.
Fanfiction
The (observant) reader already saw one particular person on the cover: Shuntarō Chishiya. Chishiya is sly, cunning and very observative. He knows how to make good use of his wits and often keeps a calm face. Chishiya is a manipulative player, who uses people for his own advantage. Despite being on the background for most of the time, he can have a sharp tongue.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's intrigued by this character. He will play an important part in my story.
