"Hugh!" Malakas kong tawag ni Hugh which made him suddenly push her away, causing her to lose her balance and fall on the ground, butt on.
Mabilis akong nilingon ako ni Hugh at may kung anong emosyon ang dumaan sa kanyang mga mata. Lumapit siya sa akin at magsasalita sana when I raised my left hand, as a reaction. I saw how his adam's apple moved. 'Di ko na lang siya pinansin at umupo sa upuan ko.
I don't need your explanation.
I mean why would I?
Panandalian namang nawala ang poise ni 'Dollyuh' girl, but she gracefully stood up after she recovered from her 'epic' fall. I scoffed at her. Karma's a bitch.
Naiirita niya naman akong tiningnan, but when she saw Katalina beside me, ay mabilis na tumaas ang kanyang kanang kilay. Parang nakahanap ng kaaway.
Ang bilis makalimot. Kanina ako yung target, ngayon iba na man.
"Oh, look who's here." Mataray niyang lintya, at nilapitan si Katalina.
She touched Katalina's hair and slightly teased her by actually saying the word 'Rawr'.
Oh, what's with the sudden 'Rawr'? Parang naglalion-lionan lang, ganon?
"I should be the one saying that, Dalya. Sabon ng mga artista." Nang-iinis na sagot ni Katalina, with the cebuano 'bisdak' accent
She even dramatically whispered the 'artista' word. Natawa naman sina Carter at Kreia.
Ako lang ba ang walang alam? What's with that soap thing?
What she said made Dahlia slightly pissed off, but she immediately recovered though. Suddenly, Dahlia rudely pushed the left shoulder of Katalina with her left index, gulat namang napaatras si Katalina. What a bitch!
"You piece of sh-"
"Piece of what, bitch?" Naputol ang sasabihin ni Dahlia, nang ang nananahimik na si Mika ay malakas na tinulak si Dahlia gamit din ang kanyang hintuturo.
May tinatago palang fighting spirit si Mika.
"You're just new here, know your place." Arms crossed and with the intimidating stance, Mika said with threat laced on her voice.
She then went to her chair and continued reading her manga, akala ko ba may tatapusin pa siyang homework?
But anyways, she's so cool!
Nawalan ng masasabi si Dahlia, but with poise she flipped her hair and went to sat on her chair, at the same time the bell rang.
I need that confidence, sa'n ba pwede bumili niyan?
While the discussion went on, I felt Hugh gently poke the side of my waist, mabilis akong napaiwas. Alam ng gago, kung saan ang kiliti ko. Don't even touch me.
"Okay class, next month will be our 2020 Intramurals. So, some of you will join the athletic competitions and some will just enjoy those 3 days. Also about your T-shirts, makukuha niyo ito next week. And all that I need to say is 'Be careful and stay safe!', that's all, class dismissed." Maam Castillo announced. Intramurals? That would be fun.
Nagkita-kita kami sa cafe ng school, to talk about the upcoming intramurals. Tumabi ako kay Mika, the opposite side of where Hugh is at.
Titig na titig naman si Hugh sa akin, he obviously can't do anything if I want to sit here.
It's my choice. Lady's choice.
"What time and where will we meet?" Pagbubukas ni Karsyn sa topic.
Kreia and Nicholette then suggested something and the conversation went on.
"By the way, sasali pala ako ng Mister and Miss Intramurals 2020. Mom insisted about it, wala naman akong nagawa." Shocked kaming napatingin kay Karsyn.
She'll joined? That would be great!
"That's nice pero pano yan eh, parehong sa third day ang competition niyo ni Dana, Mika, at Katalina?" Karsyn pouted as she thinks about it.
They talked about possible ways. Di naman ako makasabay, cause I just don't feel like talking.
"What's with you and Vaughn? Is it about what happened?" Mika whispered to my right ear.
'Di siguro nakatiis si Mika, because she exactly saw what happened. Di naman ako nakasagot sa tanong niya, at nahihiyang napaiwas ng tingin.
"You know you can't avoid him, you lived in the same house and went to the same school." Banayad na sabi ni Mika, confronting me in her own way.
Alam ko naman 'yan. I-It's just that.
"You clearly saw how he pushed her right?"
Tumango naman ako, kahit wala akong sinasabi ay alam kong alam ni Mika that, everything's not what it was.
Wait, when I think about it, what did 'he' even did wrong? Andz why am I acting like this?
"You're not yet ready for anything, kaya ang masasabi ko lang is, don't avoid him and understand where this is going." As she said those napunta ang aking tingin sa mga abong mata na kanina pang nakatingin sa akin, sinusuri ang aking ekspresyon.
I apologetically smiled at him, and when he saw it, his eyes then twinkled with happiness.
"Hi, Guys! Did you know that I will also be with you on Intramurals?" Someone then interrupted, naputol ang tinginan namin ni Hugh, at natigil naman ang mga kaibigan ko sa pagpaplano.
Sabay kaming napalingon, it was no other than 'Dollyuh' the great.
"Oh. Hi there, Babe." Flirty nitong sabi, ng nabaling ang tingin nito kay Hugh, pabebe pa nitong nilagay ang takas na buhok sa likod ng tenga.
B-Babe? What a fli-.
She then suddenly turned her back on us, at parang nasa pageant na lumabas sa pintuan ng cafe.
Yun lang? Akala ko pa naman bakbakan na. Nagtaka naman sina Karsyn at Nicholette kung sino 'yon, but we just shrugged our shoulders.
Sino ba yun? No one knows.
Today is the first day of intramurals. I wore the red intrams shirt, high waisted black jeans, Vans shoes, and a black Chanel chain sling bag.
I styled my hair in a high curled ponytail and put on some light makeup. While Hugh, he wore the red t-shirt, a black jeans, and Nike Airmax black shoes. Pareho na naman po kami ng OOTD.
As planned, we meet at the cafe at 7:00 am. Pagkarating namin sa cafe ay nandoon na si Carter, Kreia, Mika, and Katalina. Such early birds.
"Where's Karsyn and Nicholette? Malapit naba sila?" I asked as soon as I sat down.
"Malapit na daw si Karsyn, pero si Nicholette? Knowing her? I don't know what to say," Kreia as she sipped on her coffee, while checking her wrist watch.
"You want coffee?" Napalingon ako kay Hugh when he asks me.
I nodded, he then went to the counter without asking me what I want. Alam naman niya kung anong gusto ko.
Kreia, Katalina, and I then talked about random things, while Mika as always, reading her manga. Dala niya pa rin yan?
"Friends! I'm sorry I'm late, I woke up late kasi." Dahlia appeared out of nowhere, she even takes the initiative to invite herself to sat on the chair on my left side.
Nakasuot siya ng intrams shirt, black plaid high-waist bodycon mini skirt, at naka-3 inch heels pa.
Teka, so tutuo yung sinabi niyang sasama siya? Sa amin?
I looked at Kreia na tinitingnan ang lahat ng galaw ni Dahlia. While Katalina didn't even bother to raise her eyes at the unknown visitor.
Hugh then arrives bringing our coffee. Umupo siya sa kanang upuan na nasa tabi ko and calmly gives me the coffee.
"Hi, babe!"
Napairap naman ako ng she called Hugh as 'babe', again.
Jowa mo girl?
I felt kinda happy when Hugh didn't even bother to look at her. He was just sipping on his black coffee and just scrolling on his black iphone 11, which was his 17th birthday gift from Mom and Dad.
7:31 am nang dumating si Karsyn, hinihingal siyang lumapit sa lamesa namin. Is this Deja Vu?
"I'm l-late kasi, Mom insisted on me to try the gowns she bought for the competition."
Hinihingal siyang umupo sa tabi ni Hugh, at ininom ang tubig ni Mika, Mika just looked at her and didn't say anything. Napalingon naman si Karsyn kay Dahlia at nagtatakang tinuro.
"Why is she here? Akala ko ba 'di niyo 'to kilala?" Dinig na bulong niya, tumaas naman ang kilay ni Dahlia.
"Oh! That's harsh. I'm by the way Dahlia, not Dalya. Nice to meet you, and you are?"
Nakatayong pagpapakilala nito as she raised her hand, magiliw namang tumayo si Karsyn at nag shake hands ang mga kamay nila ni Dahlia habang nagpapakilala.
Ang friendly ni Miss Pascua. Di naman napansin ni Karsyn ang pagtaas ng kilay ni Katalina, like she's asking what she's doing.
8:05 am, dumating narin ang magandang dilag na si Nicholette Padgett. Girl aga naman natin!
Sabay namin siyang tiningnan ng masama kasama rin ang 'uninvited', ang babaita naman ay masaya lamang kaming nginitian. Di man lang nag explain kung bakit siya late.
Pumunta kami sa college building and decided to try the booths that are currently available, 1:30 pm pa kasi bubukas ang horror booth. So we tried first the photo booth, walang magawa si Hugh at Carter ng pinili namin yon.
We strike different poses all together, of course kasali ang new member na si Dahlia, na sobra kung makalapit kay Hugh. Pinipigilan ko lang punain because that would be weird right?
Katalina and Karsyn then made me and Hugh take a picture together. Mabilis namang pumwesto si Hugh, which made me blush.
I went to his side, I felt his right hand on my waist and gently pulled me towards him, he then smiled for the camera. Ramdam ko ang init ng aking mukha as the photographer takes the picture, after saying 'smile'.
Sunod naming pinuntahan ay ang Disco booth. It's 9:31 am, ang aga-aga nagdidisco. We payed and went inside the booth, naramdaman agad namin ang init dahil sa mga taong nagsasayawan, may iba't-ibang kulay ang makikita sa loob na nanggaling sa bola na nasa itaas ng bubong. There's even a mini bar, of course it's only juices.
Naghanap kami ng pwesto, we take our seat at parang tanga na masayang tumawa. We're happy because we experienced to be on a disco without going to a club.
Tumayo si Karsyn at Nicholette to buy the drinks. Feel na feel namin na para kaming nagkaka-club. They arrived and distributed the drinks, we then made a toast, for our friendship. At ano ba, kasali din si Dahlia dyan.
'Di nakatiis si Dahlia at pumunta sa dancefloor. We loudly laughed when we saw her boldly swaying her body infront of some gentlemen with his girlfriend.
Nainis naman ang girlfriend ng lalaki at umalis, susundan sana ng lalaki ng seksing hinawakan ni Dahlia ang collar ng lalaki at pinagpatuloy ang pagsayaw.
Para namang nahipnotismo ang lalaki sa kanyang alindog, so they continued dancing together. Bitch talaga. Tumayo kaming lahat, except for Hugh, at pumunta sa dance floor.
Awkward akong napasayaw, when I felt Hugh staring, tinitingnan ang lahat ng aking galaw. Naghahanap ang mga mata nang pwedeng kamalian sa akin.
Maybe to try to get me off the dancefloor, knowing him.
Kaya lumipat ako sa pwesto na kung nasaan si Mika. Malayo kasi siyang nakapwesto, at natatabunan pa ng ibang tao, which blocks him from staring at me.
Have a talk with yourself first, Hugh. Stop distracting me.
Mika and I happily danced together, ang galing pala sumayaw ni Miss Okajima. Ehem, pwede na. Umakto akong parang lalaki at pumunta sa likod ni Mika. I hold her waist and we sway with the music.
Sabay kaming tumawa sa kagagagahan namin. Kahit tahimik si Mika sumasabay naman yan pag ganitong biro.
Pinuntahan namin sina Kreia at Karsyn na masayang sumasayaw, tas sinabayan sila. I excused myself when I felt that I need to pee.
Papuntang labasan, I saw Hugh looking where I'm going, nag-iisa siyang nakaupo sa pwesto namin. Pumunta ako sa cr and did my business.
Pagkalabas ko sa pintuan ng cr ay may biglang humawak sa aking pulsuhan at mahina akong hinila paharap sa kanya.
Carter?
"What is it, Carter? Do you need something?" Nagtatakang saad ko habang patingin-tingin sa kamay niyang nakahawak sa pulsuhan ko.
I anticipated his answer, bumuka ang labi niya to say something.
"Hands off, Holvan." Voice that's filled with cold warning is heard.
I felt the cold wind rush making my hair slightly move, as I looked at the person. Hugh?
Before I could talk, Kreia appeared, from his back.
"Carter?"
May kung anong emosyon ang dumaan sa kanyang mata, as she saw Carter holding my wrist.
Uh, What's with the sudden tension?
