A/N: Yeah... Just feeling a bit down about another book that I spent hours of my life on trying to make interesting as possible only for it to fall flat on its face.

Chibi A/N: Ah... I hate to be rude but we need to focus on a well-written plot about aliens and humans getting on in space, not a poorly written one about "anime" girls with weapons that could be tagged with "It's also a gun!".
A/N: Yeah you're right it's just disappointing to see that happen when I've sent hours of my life for what feels like nothing.

A/N: Yeah, but enough about my writer's depression let's get back to the story.
Shortly after your encounter with the cultists, Nihlus brought you back with him to a ship called the Normandy immediately which departed as soon as it could after you entered it leaving you not time to explain to your friends and most recent Turian acquaintance about your sudden departure which left you a bit annoyed as you sit there in the crew quarters which let your thoughts stew for a few hours as you still can't believe you just might be the very first Human Specter in the galaxies history... As well as your annoyance at being roped back into the military " This day just keeps getting longer and longer the more I think about it. " You thought as you felt the ship shift ever so slightly letting you know you had most likely arrived at your destination " Alright let's see what we've got here. " You mentally stated as you got up of the bunk bed you were sitting at before making you wake to the deck which meant you had to take a lift that thankfully was faster than the elevator's on the Citadel " How come an Alien Society can make the most advance city in the entire galaxy and not have faster elevators? " You mentally questioned yourself as you pressed a button on the side that leads to the deck and after an admittedly boring but short ride, you arrived at the deck which was fully staffed " I wonder if they know what's going on? " You thought as wived through the crew with ease and most of them didn't even know you passed them at all besides a select few that were ranked as senior officers and when you arrived at the helm you see Nihlus there overlooking the systems test which a man known as Joker who was the main pilot was currently running.

Chibi A/N: Oh so Joker didn't get hit with the Rule 63 ray... Ok.
A/N: Trust me I'll get to that later.
Joker: Thrusters... Check. Navigation... Check. Internal emissions sink engaged. All systems online. Drift... Just under 1500k.
He states with a razor-focused tone as you could tell he was currently getting the feel of the ship.
Nihlus: 1500 is good. Your captain will be pleased.
After he stated that he walked out of the helm passing a few of the crew who swiftly got out of his way after seeing him heading their way and as got out of earshot Joker made a remark.
Joker: I hate that guy.
He simply states as his co-pilot known as Kaidan looks at him with a confused expression.

Kaiden: Nihlus gave you a compliment... So you hate him?
Joker looked at him with a single raised eyebrow as you leaned back on a nearby wall.
Joker: Remember to zip your jumpsuit on the way out of the bathroom? That's good. I just jumped us halfway across the galaxy and hit a target the size of a pinhead. So that's incredible.
He paused to look back towards the navigation controls to check if there was any odd readings he should worry about before continuing.
Joker: Besides, Specters are trouble. I don't like having them on board. Call me paranoid.
Kaiden just looks at him with a slightly annoyed look.
Kaiden: You're paranoid. The Council has a right to send someone to keep an eye on their investment.
" I wonder what he meant by Project... " You thought as you weren't told anything about a project, but you saved that question for later.
Joker: Yeah, that is the official story, but only an idiot believes in the official story.
He states finally leaving you a window to jump in on the conversation and considering that the crew thinks this is all a test run for some prototype you don't know about you felt it necessary to at least confirm the pilot's suspicion.
(Y/N): While I wish I could say what we're really doing, but you are correct in thinking something is up.
You state and Joker looked at Kaiden with a victorious smile.
Joker: See I told you something was up, You don't send someone that was just reinstated and a specter at the same time.
Kaiden rolled his eyes not even responding to that as he checks the stability of the core before turning his attention to you.
Kaiden: So what's your story? Why did the Council ask the Alliance to reinstate you only to send you on a shakedown run?
He asked wondering why they would waste all the time and effort on this and you let out a bit of a sigh.
(Y/N): I can't tell you all of the details, but what I can tell you is that this isn't exactly a shakedown run it's a pickup run and we don't even know what we're heading into.
" Ha! I knew I was right! " Joker though as Kaiden sighed knowing Joker would surely tease him about this for weeks to come, but before Joker could make any witty remarks Captain Anderson radioed in.
Anderson: Joker! Status report.
Joker straightened up after hearing the Captain voice over the com.
Joker: Just Cleared the Mass Relay, Captain. Stealth systems are engaged. Everything looks good.
" Stealth systems? It must have something to do with this project they were talking about. " You thought.
Anderson: Good, find a comm buoy and link us into the network. I want mission reports relayed to Alliance brass before we reach Eden Prime.
As the Captain said this you looked over the control console which looked much more complicated than the suttles you used to take back on the citadel and try as you might you couldn't make heads or tales of it " Glad I don't have to fly the ship. " You mentally state.
Joker: Aye aye, Captain. Better brace yourself, sir. I think Nihlus is probably heading your way.
" I think he's already there... " You thought and what Anderson said next confirmed your thoughts.
Anderson: He's already here Lieutenant.
Kaiden had a bit of a smug grin on his face as he knew this was about to happen, but he kept his mouth shut as the Captain continued.
Anderson: Tell the Commander (L/N) to meet me in the comm room for a debriefing.
" Fantastic. I can finally get some answers to what this Project is. " You thought.
Joker: You get that Commander?
Kaiden just looks at him with a stare that says I think he heard it loud and clear written on his face.
(Y/N): I heard... Lieutenant.
After you said that you left the cockpit as Joker sighed " Great... There's another Anderson on board the ship. As if one wasn't enough. " He thought as you make your way down the deck which was quiet for the time being as the crew started to take readings of what you assume are the ships Stealth systems and as you near the entrance of the comms room, you see a medic officer talking to a fairly young recruit.

You overheard something about Specters doing whatever they want which made the medical roll her eyes a bit.
Medical Officer: Ha! You watch too many spy vids, Jenkins.
After she said that they both took notice of your presence and turned to you.
Jenkins: What do you think Commander? I mean there got to be a better reason why they would pull a veteran like you back into the fold just for a simple shakedown mission.
He states with an odd sense of excitement making the Medical Officer sigh.
Medical Officer: Jenkins, please stop disturbing the Commander. I'm sure he has better things to worry about.
Jenkins looks at her with a somewhat pleading look as if he was begging her to at least be a little curious.
Jenkins: Oh come on, Docter Chakwas! This could be my chance to prove myself to the Alliance Brass and show them what I can do!
After he said that while sounding like an overeager child going on a field trip to the zoo you saw fit to remind him that glory should be an afterthought, not a priority.
(Y/N): This mission isn't about personal glory, kid! We've got a job to do so don't do anything stupid to get yourself killed!
You state with a tone befitting your rank Jenkins sighted his posture a bit.
Jenkins: Don't worry, sir. I'm not going to screw this up.
After he said that Doctor Chakwas received a message on her Omni tool before sighing.
Chakwas: We should probably let you go, for now, I've got to help Lieutenant Vogue take stock of our supplies. He says some medication is missing, good luck with your mission commander.
After states this they both started to leave and you soon left the area yourself as you headed to the door of the comm room which had a single guard next to it who let you in without any issues and as the door closed behind you, you see Nihlus looking out of the window as he was seemingly waiting for you.
Nihlus: Ah! Commander. It's good that you arrived first. It'll give us the chance to talk.
You crossed your arms and leaned on the railing with a single raised eyebrow after he said that.
(Y/N): About what exactly? I thought we've covered everything I needed to know back at the Citadel.
You stated as it wasn't too long ago that he told you about the real reason you're on this mission and Nihlus gave a slight nod.
Nihlus: You be correct... Well for the most part.
He paused and looked around the room as if he were searching for something and as soon as he finished he looked back to you with a look of unease.
Nihlus: The Counsel has reason to suspect one of their top agents, Saren has gone rogue, but they don't have concrete evidence to outright accused him. The worst part is that he was an old friend of mine.
You had a look of suspicion across your face when he said that he was an old friend of his.
(Y/N): Define Was.
Nihlus sighed after you said that " Should have seen that one coming if I'm going, to be honest... " He thought.
Nihlus: We had an argument over whether or not a human should be allowed into the Specters or not a view months back. I said yes... He said no in his own special way.
You still had a look of suspicion after he said that.
(Y/N): Meaning?
Nihlus crossed his arms as he recalled the incident that took place.
Nihlus: He challenged me to a knife duel right there in the Citadel in broad daylight. Despite my reluctance, I agreed to the duel and won. Shortly after that, he dropped all contact with me and has never come up on my radar ever since.
" Jeez what a way to end a friendship... " You thought, however, you still had some questions that needed to be answered.
(Y/N): Why did he do to make the Council think that he's gone rogue?
You asked and Nihlus looks down and ponders for a moment " Well there's no use in holding information back now. " He mentally stated as he looked back up towards you.
Nihlus: He has undergone some... Questionable augmentations recently and he has been reluctant to tell the Council where they came from. Not to mention his crew are acting very strangely. They've been acting like they had been brainwashed or something of that nature.
After he stated that it got you thinking about the cultist with molten metal leaking out of his eyes " I wonder if the two are connected somehow. " You thought.
(Y/N): Were they shipping large amounts of gold by any chance?
Nihlus's brow raised a bit after you asked that question.
Nihlus: No there wasn't even a single trace of gold in the cargo they were offloading. Why did you ask?
You let out a disappointed sigh " Damn thought I was onto something. " You mentally stated.
(Y/N): It was important to the Cultist's ritual. Thought the two would be linked somehow.
Nihlus shrugged after you said that as it isn't a far-fetched idea at this point considering what Saren is doing to his own men.
Nihlus: They could be, but Saren is a tricky one. I doubt he'll leave evidence behind if he did have dealings with them.
After he said that Captain Anderson walked into the room.

Anderson: Commander you already here. Good. It makes explaining why you have been reinstated a lot more easier.
He states not knowing that you already knew about basically everything besides what the Project stuff is about.
(Y/N): Nihlus has already filled me in on the whole kit and caboodle, sir. Well besides what this Project the crew keeps talking about.
You state to Anderson's surprise.
Anderson: I see.
As he said then he looked at Nihlus with a slightly annoyed expression as the Turian specter could have at least told him about this, but he soon let it slide as there were more pressing matters to attend to.
Anderson: In any case, we've got a problem on our hands. Some of the Crew managed to piece together a message from the colony and... Well, it's best that you see this for yourself's.
After he said that he pulled up a video that was a bit glitchy as it seemed at first, but after few seconds passed it showed you some marines fighting for their lives against some as of yet unseen forces, and you saw the marines being mowed down which caused a familiar feeling of anger to resonate within you as the mission on Doxá came surfacing back into your mind " Those poor souls were getting slaughtered. They've must have been caught off guard by whatever attacked them. " You thought as you continued to watch the video and assess the situation and you see a woman in white armor start to darg the person who was recording the message away, however, you couldn't see her face as she was wearing a fully closed helmet at the time, but that wasn't all the video continued and whoever recorded the message look towards there attackers briefly getting a glimpse at them before what appears to be hot plasma suddenly destroys the camera and presumably killed the person recording it.
Nihlus: Why couldn't we hear anything?
He asked noticing the video was practically silent and Anderson sighed, but before he could answer Nihlus question you spoke.
(Y/N): The audio was probably lost during the battle. Whatever was attacking them must have been jamming their equipment so they couldn't send for help. On top of that, the Plasma round the camera took while recording the footage was most likely damaged the audio recorder as well as the memory drive. We're fortunate that anything was able to be recovered.
You state to Anderson's surprise " So what they say about him is true, he can practically gather a lot of information from just a scrap of evidence. " He thought.
Nihlus: Yes that makes sense, but that hardly narrows down who or what could have attacked the colony.
He states and you start to pounder " Judging from the size of the projectile it'd have to be something using strickly plasma base ammunition as normal rounds don't- "Your train of thought was derailed when Anderson spoke.
Anderson: You don't have to do any guesswork Commander. We already know who it is.
After he said this he rewound the video until the attackers were in view and both you and Nihlus were surprised to see the familiar image of a Geth trooper firing at someone off-screen.
Nihlus: This just made this mission more complicated.
He said out loud as you turned to Anderson who still has a troubled look on his face.
(Y/N): There's more isn't there?
Anderson looked at you and nodded as he fast-forwarded to the beginning of the video where the both of you see what looked like a massive ship of unknown design started to land in the background, however, you couldn't fully see it as it was mostly surrounded by red clouds as it made it's landing.
Nihlus: By god, I've never seen a ship like that.
He states shocked at the current development of the situation and you turned to Anderson with a look of purpose across your face.
(Y/N): How long ago was the video taken?
You asked somewhat hastily hoping that you having arrived in late to help those soldiers.
Anderson: About thirty minutes ago.
He answered and you begin to make your way out of the room even though you still wanted to know what this Project is you felt that the needs of the colonist's outway answers to that question.
(Y/N): We need to get down there before they can do any more damage!
As you were about to leave the room Anderson stopped you.
Anderson: Wait Commander (L/N)! I understand your haste, but you can't go down there in your civvies. Talk to Lieutenant Vouge he should have at least a chest plate and some spare weapons you can use. He should be in the med bay.
You nodded as you exited the room leaving Nihlus and Anderson in the comm room.
Meanwhile...
Chibi A/N: Jeez he doesn't waste time does he?
A/N: What can you expect from a soldier who values saving innocent lives?
Chibi A/N: True, However, don't think I haven't forgotten about the explanation you needed to give me about why Joker and Kaiden are girls... Which now that I think about it I'm kinda glad they aren't.
A/N: Yeah the short answer is there would be too many humans in the Harem and let's be honest that's not what some people come here for.
Chibi A/N: Well that and... I think of them as drinking buddies rather than... You know. Plus I get what you mean, It'd be like having too much vanilla ice cream and not enough mini chocolate chip.
A/N: Exactly.
Chibi Joker: Think god for variety! I don't think my hips would be able to handle that type of stuff.

A/N: Back to the story!
In the Normandy's med-bay Doctor Chakwas was looking at their stock of Medi-gel which was currently empty.
Chakwas: How could this happen!? I thought I restocked this when we were back at the Citadel!
She said completely stunned at the situation they were in and a man with short Dirty blond hair and a fair complexion wearing an odd combination of his casual wear which consisted of a brown leather jacket and blue jeans with bits of armor like a chest plate which provides shields, a small ammo bag strapped to one of his arms, gauntlets that appear have studded knuckles, and some armored boots that when up to his knees. This man's name was Destry Vouge.
Destry: I've got no idea, but I've got a feeling someone made off with the supplies and bolted when we wear docked back the Citadel.
He sighed and crossed his arms as he sees you walk into the room and he noticed your dog tags which had the N7 logo on them " Now that's something familiar. " He thought as he remembered someone who trained in that program and he also remembered seeing those dog tags after his friend passed the exam.
Destry: And how you might be?
He asked calmly as he knew you must have been Nihlus's specter candidate when he arrived on the ship, however, you when below deck before he could ask you some questions.
(Y/N): I'm Commander (L/N). Are you Lieutenant Vouge?
You asked in an official tone and Destry turned towards you and saluted you as Doctor Chakwas started searching through the various cabinets
Destry: Yes sir! I'm Lieutenant Vouge. I manage the shore party's heath and vitals as well as assist in combat, sir.
He stated as if he back in boot camp and you crossed your arms as you looked him up and down before noticing that his dog tags had a Red Cross within a white circle " Huh... So he's a Combat medic and not some doctor with a gun. " You thought as you recalled something about a program to train Medics to work out in the battlefields and keep their cold underfire.
(Y/N): At ease Lieutenant. I'm not a drill sergeant ready to chew green as grass recruits out on a moment's notice.
After he said that he breathed a sigh of relief " Oh thank god. " He mentally stated before relaxing his body.
Destry: Right sorry about that, sir. So what are you doing here?
He asked slightly confused as to why you were here and not with Nihlus and Anderson as the captain said he and Nihlus had something to discuss with you which Anderson also said would take some time.
(Y/N): Anderson said to talk to you if I needed gear. He said you have some spare armor and weapons.
Destry's brow raised a bit after you said that as the armor he had isn't really standard issue armor.
Destry: Well yes I do have spare weapons and armor in my locker, but the armor isn't up to Alliance code if you catch my drift.
You narrowed your eyes for a moment as you knew that the armor he had doesn't come with a skin-tight jump-suit, but then again you kinda hated the fact it always felt a bit too tight every time you wore any sort of armor.
(Y/N): I can live with that, damn jumpsuits aren't very comfortable.
After you said that Destry crossed his arms as a slight smile forms on his face.
Destry: You too huh? I never really saw how they could be useful when the atmosphere is safe to breathe, but I do understand it being useful for space travel and hazardous environments.
You nodded in agreement, but as much as you would want to get to know the rest of the crew a bit more and get some answers about what the Project even is, you got a job to do.
(Y/N): I hate to be rude but we've got to get prepped and ready to go in about thirty minutes.
Destry's eye's dilated after you said that as he was surprised that they were about to go on a mission so soon " Shit of we don't have Medi-gel we'll be screwed if someone gets shot! " He thought as Doctor Chakwas walked over towards the two of you with some troubling news.
Chakwas: We'll I suggest you be careful. We're currently out of Medi-gel at the time.
" Damn. We'll have to find some in the colony if things go south... Which they probably will. " You thought.
(Y/N): We'll try but there aren't any guarantees. We're heading into unknown territory.
Chakwas sigh a little after you said that.
Chakwas: I know just try not to get killed down there.
She states with a slightly worried tone as she saw enough soldiers die in her life even though she knows she'll probably see more in the future and Destry felt the need to calm her nerves.
Destry: Don't worry we'll try our best.
He paused for a second to look at you before continuing.
Destry: Come on we should probably hurry, we shouldn't delay the mission any more them we have to.
After he states this the two of you start to exit the med-bay leaving the good doctor who still had a bad feeling that everything will go awry.
Forty minutes later...
Chibi A/N: Kinda short.
A/N: Well there isn't much to do. The Commander is currently rushing to help people.
Chibi A/N: Which is a good thing to do, but you could at least make it a bit longer.
A/N: Ok what was I supposed to do? Make The Commander forget that he needs to get down there asap?
Chibi A/N: When you put it like that I suppose it would seem a little odd he would talk someone's head off during a life or death situation... Well at least if innocent lives are at stake then this.
A/N: Good... Now if that's out of the way. Let's get back to the story.
You sat in the shuttle wearing bits of armor like Vouge was wearing with the exception of some pauldrons as well as your trusty pistol on your hip, a standard shotgun on your lower back, an Alliance issue assault rifle that took terminal clips, and a rather old Sniper rifle that hasn't seen battle in years.
Nihlus: Strange choice in armor Commander, but then again it's better than nothing.
He states as Jenkins struggles to hold himself back as he was extremely excited to be in a suttle with an actual specter " I hope I can get his autograph when the mission is over! " He thought as you shrugged.
(Y/N): Hell of a lot more comfortable too. Jumpsuits and I aren't a great match. Besides, it's not like there is any biohazard on Eden prime we should worry about.
You state causing Destry to chuckle a bit as Kaiden shook his head a little.
(Y/N): What's so funny Lieutenant?
You asked in a serious toon which made Destry straighten up.
Destry: Nothing, sir.
He states without a hint of attitude in his voice as Nihlus checked his weapons to make sure they were in tip-top shape before they land.
(Y/N): Good. We're on duty so I don't want anyone horsing around, Understood?
Shortly after you said they responded almost immediately.
Destry: Yes, sir!
Kaiden: Yes, sir!
Jenkins: Y-yes, sir!
After you let everyone know who is in charge the shuttle stopped and the doors opened up.
Pilot: We've arrived at Drop point One!
As soon as the pilot said that Nihlus stood up and double-checked his rifle.
Nihlus: Good luck Commander!
He jumps out of the shuttle and down onto the ground shortly after he said that as Jenkins watched in awe at how quickly Nihlus shrugged off the fall " So Cool! " He thought as the doors closed before the shuttle started to make its way towards drop point two and after an admittedly short and quiet ride the shuttle doors opened up once more and your team swiftly dropped down onto the ground below you and everyone stuck the landing but Jenkins who stumbled a little after landing on his feet, but thankfully didn't fall to the ground or break any bones at least.
(Y/N): Alright people! Move out!
You ordered which they swiftly followed as your team made their way down the slope and encountered strange floating bloated creatures.
Kaiden: What the hell are those!m
He asked somewhat shock as the thing looked a bit grotesque and Jenkins shrugged.
Jenkins: Gasbags. Don't worry they're harmless.
After he said that you looked around the area and seeing nothing of interest other than an upgrade kit which you swiftly looted and you received a Medi-gel, some credits, and a slightly wet upgrade " Well this will come in handy. " You thought.
Chibi A/N: Oh boy... The loot hogging begins...
A/N: Indeed!
Destry: Haven't those been in the water for god knows how long?
He asked and you just shrugged as you attached the upgrades to your armor.
(Y/N): Hey it's something.
You state as you walked out of the water with your somewhat soggy upgrade " I highly doubt motorized joints work when they have been submerged underwater. " Destry desperately wanted to say out loud, however, he didn't want to argue about it as it would only waste more time, and just as your team passes some rocks you see two burned corpses on the side of the road.
Jenkins: What happened here?
He asked slightly horrified by the sight and you looked at the bodies and noticed that they were wearing Alliance armor and they were also missing their dog tags.
(Y/N): Someone from their unit is still alive. Their Dog tags have been removed.
You paused for a moment as you noticed the corpse was still warm as it still had smoke coming off of it.
(Y/N): Ready your weapons. We're not alone out here.
After you said that they did exactly what you ordered and they pulled out their preferred weapons. Jenkins pulled out his assault rifle, Kaiden pulled out his pistol, Destry pulled out his rifle as well, and you pulled out your trusty pistol " Something doesn't feel right... " You thought as your team passes even more burned bodies and your gesture to Jenkins to take point which he eagerly did as Kaiden and Destry follow him while using the nearby rocks as cover, unlike Jenkins who was out in the open which costed him dearly as four Geth recon drone's suddenly appeared out the tree line.

*Pew! Pew! Pew!*
Jenkins: Aggghhh!
The poor boy's body fell to the ground dead after the drone's shots ripped right through his shield and his armor as well.
Destry: Corporal Jenkins is down!
He shouted as you ran to cover as the drone's started to fire upon the rest of your team and as you slid toward cover you shot down one of the drone's which caused it to crash down onto the ground as Kaiden sabotaged another causing it to explode in the air.
(Y/N): Vouge!
Before you could order him to take the other two out he annihilated one drone in a hail of bullets before switching to his pistol and taking the last one down with a few well-placed shots as Kaiden checked the area for more drone's.
Kaiden: Clear!
After he said that Vouge put away his weapons and swiftly rushed over to Jenkins body and examining it for any signs of life which sadly were not to be found.
Destry: Shit! He's dead, sir. They ripped right through his shields and armor. Hit him directly in the heart.
He stated as you and Kaiden stood over the body and you grit your teeth as you had grown to hate people dying under your command, but you had to cool yourself down as you can't worry about this now.
(Y/N): We'll give him a proper send-off after the mission is done... We've got a job to do.
You stated feeling bad about leaving about leaving the kid's body laying on the ground like this.
Destry: Yes, sir.
He states in a somewhat saddened tone " Doctor Chakwas isn't going to like the bad news... " He thought as your squad left Jenkins body behind and made your way deeper into the woods where to no one's surprise you countered more drones, however, your squad wasn't caught off guard this time as everyone swiftly took cover behind that large trees of the woods.
Kaiden: There are five of them!
He shouted as a beam of plasma hit the bark nearby his face " That was way too close! " He thought as he used his Biotics to throw one of the drones into a tree as Destry nailed another with his assault rifle with a couple of shots causing it to explode which shot shrapnel everywhere " Think god we're all in cover. " You thought as you peeked out shortly after the explosion and took two drones down with a signal shot as the drone you shot crashes into the other.
Destry: Nice one!
After he said that Kaiden finished the last drone off with by sabotaging it using his Omni-tool which caused it to explode and yet again pepper the area with shrapnel and you swiftly looked around the area and saw no signs of Geth activity.
(Y/N): Clear!
You state as you put your pistol back onto your jacket as you started to investigate the area for any spear supplies or anything of value and you found a Medi-gel container which conveniently enough had some money inside of it as well.
Kaiden: Alright I know we're on a mission but who the hell thought putting spare credits in a medical container was a good idea?
He stated being a tad confused as to why anyone would do that as it seemed like a waste of money.
(Y/N): I don't know but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
You calmly state as you take the credits and extra Medi-gel as Kaiden sighed.
Kaiden: Fair point. We should get moving.
After he said this the three of you heard what sounded like Geth drones firing at something just past the woods and you pull out your rifle.
(Y/N): That could be a surviving troop!
You ran towards the sounds of Geth gunfire and soon you heard a Geth drone explode as well as what sounds like someone getting impaled " Shit! Shit! Shit! " You thought as you rounded the corner to see the woman from the video and she currently wasn't wearing her helmet.

She was currently hiding behind a large rock from a few Geth Troopers who had just noticed the damaged drone as they were preoccupied impaling a civilian onto a large metal spike and they were currently investigating the area.

" What the hell are they doing here!? " You mentally questioned with you stared at the sight in total shock as Kaiden and Destry caught up with you with their weapons drawn.
Kaiden: Commander what do you see- Christ! What the hell!?
The Troopers looked their sights onto the three of you as did the woman who used this opportunity to take one of the Troopers out quickly allowing your team to get into position as more Geth arrive with a big Geth following them.
Destry: Damn! They've got a Destroyer!
He states as watched a large Geth start to slowly stomp over to them while the other Geth Troopers took cover behind some rocks.
(Y/N): Kaiden! Can you do anything about that Destroyer!?
You asked as Destry took down a Trooper with his rifle while the Women in white armor reloaded her pistol.
Kaiden: I can throw him to the ground using my Biotics so you and the others can take him out while he's down, but his shields need to be down when that happens or he isn't budging an inch!
He answered as Destry took two more Trooper's down and give the Destroyer a few rounds to his shields before he ducked back down in cover so he could pop out the red hot thermal clip and place a new one as a blast of red energy hit the cover he was hiding behind.
(Y/N): Alright! Takedown that Destroyer's shields!
You ordered and the woman pulled out her rifle and started to pepper the Destroyer with a hail of bullets while you took out a Geth Trooper trying to take a shot at her as Destry finished reloading and fired at the Destroyer and with their combined gunfire they both take out its shields.
(Y/N): Now!
Kaiden popped out of cover before he used his Biotic's to throw the Destroyer to the ground and you all collectively shot the Destroyer until the light in its head turned off effectively killing it within seconds.
???: I think we gottem!
The white armored woman states as she looked around the area to see no Geth anywhere if you don't count the dead ones and as you approached the woman identified herself after she caught her breath.
Ashley: Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams of the 212, Are you with the Alliance, sir?
She asked looking at your gear and dog tags with a raised brow.
(Y/N): You don't have to worry Williams we're with the Alliance.
After you said that Destry walked over to her with his Omni-tool as he was checking her vital to see if she sustained any injuries.
Destry: Are you hurt Williams?
He asked as he began to scan her and Williams was about to push him away until she saw the medic symbol on his dog tags.
Ashley: No, just a few scrapes and burns but nothing I can't walk off.
She states as Destry finished his scan and nodded.
Destry: Well if you're sure you don't need any medical attention I'm going to Investigate the spike and find out why the Geth didn't just kill him.
Ashley nodded as Destry shortly walked over to the spike and started to scan it while You and Kaiden can hopefully get some answers.
(Y/N): What happened here?
You asked curiously as to how everything only went to hell now rather than a few days ago and you'd soon have your answer.
Ashley: A few days ago our Communications Tower was heavily damaged by a crazy guy who tried to kill the team the was sent in. That guy wasn't around from here so we set up patrols around the colony just in case there he had friends while some of our tech-heads fixes the Tower. Whatever that guy did to the Tower it knocked out communications for a while, the tech-heads said it would take a week to fix.
She paused for a moment to collect her thoughts as Destry finished the scan's on the spike and he had a worried look on his face as he checked the perimeter for more of the spikes.
Kaiden: Who was this Crazy guy?
He asked as Destry found some upgrade kits and a Medi-gel box which he looted.
Ashley: I don't know just some drifter or something. All I know is that he has been dealt with and that he almost killed one of our guys.
She states as Destry found another Spike which was thankfully void of any civilians or dead troops " Why would they do this? Shouldn't their Troops be enough? " He thought as he looked off into the distance and saw multiple implied corpses in the distance, however, they looked strange but he couldn't make out any details from a distance.
(Y/N): Back on topic. The towers went down and they would stay down for a while which allowed the Geth a window to strike and that was probably one or two hours ago. You've been fighting ever since after your squad when down, Correct?
Ashley looked a bit surprised " Well shit this guy knows how to read a situation. " She thought.
Ashley: Uh... Yeah though I think they were after something the science guys dug up. We were trying to hold our position until help arrived but we were quickly overwhelmed.
As she said this Destry walked over after overhearing your conversation.
Destry: The Prothean Beacon.
Ashley looked shocked at first but quickly realized that your team here for the Beacon.
Ashley: Yes it's just down that hill where the Geth came from.
She states making it clear where to go next.
(Y/N): Alright let's head out.
Before your team could head out Ashley stopped you as she felt like you we suggesting that she stay behind.
Ashley: Let me come with you, sir! I-
You interrupted her before she could finish her sentence and she was surprised what with what you said next.
(Y/N): Williams you've already proved yourself more than capable to join the team and besides we need your knowledge of the area so you'll be coming with us... If you agree to join us that is.
She blushed a bit after you stated that with the amount of confidence only a Commando like yourself could muster.
Ashley: O-of course, sir! Lead the way!
Destry and Kaiden rolled their eyes a bit as your team started to head down to the ruins the Geth your team destroyed were guarding and you and everyone else immediately noticed that the Beacon was nowhere to be found.
Ashley: This is the dig site. The Beacon isn't here it must have been moved.
She states as Destry looked around and saw a crate.
Kaiden: By who? Our side or the Geth?
He asked and Ashley shrugged as Destry looted the crate.
Chibi A/N: Isn't the Reader supposed to do the looting?
A/N: Well Destry is just trying to help speed things along while the Reader is talking.
Chibi A/N: Fair enough.
Ashley: Hard to say. Maybe we'll know more when we check out the research camp.
She stated as Kaiden gave Destry an odd look after he sees him using a sniper rifle he took out of the crate as a pair of binoculars " What the hell is he doing? " Kaiden thought.
(Y/N): You think anybody got out alive?
You asked as Kaiden noticed Destry had a slightly worried expression on his face as he lowered his weapon " That can't be good. " He thought.
Ashley: If they had lady fortune on their side. They could be hiding out in the nearby camp just up the ridge up those ramps.
After he said that Destry sighed as he walked over and chimed in on the conversion.
Destry: I was afraid you'd say that.
He simply stated and everyone else looked at each other with a confused look before looking back at him.
(Y/N): Can you give us some context?
You asked and Destry handed you the sniper he looted from the crate.

Then he pointed it towards the impaled corpses which you did and soon realized what the problem was as you see the victims have been altered somehow... They barely look human at all as wires and mechanical were fused into their flash which had turned into an unnatural blueish tint " Dear god... what happened to those people? " You mentally questioned.
Destry: Those people look like there being covered into some kind of Husk or something. The spike I scanned back there was doing something to the civilian's body but that's all I got out of that scan. If there are survivors we need to find them before the Geth do or they'll do the same to them.
He states and you lowered the sniper and sighed " This is worse than I thought... " You mentally stated.
(Y/N): Let's head to the Research base but be careful... We could be heading into a trap.
You started as everyone nodded and began to head out toward the Research base.
