Carl was on his way back to his apartment after a long day at the L.A. Beacon, he had just wrapped up another case with his partner Perri Reed. It had taken a lot of work to finally settle things between the company and the public eye, to Carl it was worth it. He spent a lot of his time tracking all things supernatural down, he felt that it was his and Perri's job to protect the people of Los Angeles from these creatures because no one else would, and ever since the death of his wife he vowed to do this. He was about to reach his apartment when he heard a noise, he stopped in his tracks and looked around, nothing was there so he continued on. But the noise got louder and louder, suddenly he heard what sounded like a dog charging at him, but he couldn't see it. He heard it coming towards him and began to run, he tried to open the door to his apartment but was grabbed by the leg and dragged across the sidewalk, he was dragged until he caught the lamppost, he held on as best he could but found his hands slipping.
"Help!!" he yelled. Suddenly a black chevy impala came racing down the street, it stopped and two men came out, one of them had a shotgun. The man with the shotgun fired it at the invisible creature, killing it. Carl was on the ground, his leg all covered in blood, groaning in pain. "Sam!" yelled the man with the gun. Sam ran to Carl "Dean he's badly wounded, we need to bring him to Cas." he said. Dean helped Sam carry Carl and they quickly raced back to the bunker where they summoned Cas, he came quickly. "What happened?!" said Cas. "This man was attacked by a hellhound, he's lost a lot of blood." explained Sam. Cas ordered them to lie Carl on the couch and bind the leg while he healed him. They did so and Cas used his powers to heal Carl.
"He should be fine, you two get some sleep I'll watch over him." said Cas. "I'm not resting until we find those sons of bitches!" cursed Dean. "Dean, I know we both want to kill them but for right now rest, let cas..hold on he's waking up." said Sam. "what the hell happened? Where am I?" he asked. It took a bit of explanation before Carl understood, he was told he was in a bunker with two hunters and an angel. He thought it was absurd until Castiel healed the last of his wounds. "thank you for saving me, I'm Carl Kolchak, I'm a reporter for the L.A Beacon." he said. Dean and Sam introduced themselves and shook his hand. "Winchester? like John Winchester the famous hunter?"
"Yeah, we are his sons." said Sam. Carl was dumbfounded by this, he couldn't believe he was in front of John Winchester's sons. "I bet you have questions, but now is not the time. It's late, get some sleep, we'll talk in the morning."
