The three of you went out of Professor McGonagall's classroom but there was an awkward silence that made the three of you avoid eye contact with each other.
"I..uh I forgot I have to meet up with Namjoon today for a study session. See you later!" Jungkook said and ran away which left you and Taehyung alone together in the corridor. No student was passing by maybe because everyone was still in class.
"I think I need to go to the bathroom.." You said as an excuse to be alone for the time being.
"Wait Y/N," Taehyung said. You slowly turned around to face him.
"W-what is it, Tae?" You asked. Still a bit awkward from what happened earlier.
"I uh..Well.." He tried to speak but words couldn't seem to form out of his mouth. "Nothing..you go ahead. I have to go speak to..um..Jin yes.." He said and awkwardly walked away.
You made your way to the girls' bathroom and washed your face. You suddenly remembered what happened in the broom closet and you tried to shake your head to forget it. You hoped this wouldn't change anything in your friendship and you hoped that the three of you would talk about it and agree to forget it although nothing ever really happened. Only a little harmless touching. You stared at your reflection in the mirror, water dripping from you face and damp baby hairs sticking on your forehead. You gave a big sigh when two 5th year Gryffindor girls came walking in.
"Oh my gosh. Is it true they had a threesome in a broom closet?" The girl with brown hair said.
"I guess professor Snape's polyamory remark was true." The other girl giggled.
Just then a few more girls from other houses came in.
"Oh it's her." You heard a girl's disgusted voice.
"Can't believe they did that considering they were best friends?"
"Best friends with benefits maybe."
"Isn't she dating Park Jimin?"
"I don't care really. Jeon Jungkook's still hot I'd kill for him."
"I call dibs on Kim Taehyung."
"Back off he's mine!"
You heard random chatter in the girls' bathroom. They were speaking of you nonstop as if you weren't there. They were even making it obvious on their faces on how disgusted they were with you but they didn't even bad-mouthed your two best friends, not even a single insult towards them. You ran out of the bathroom and suddenly, everybody was staring at you. After all the years you've stayed in Hogwarts, this was the first time that you were the center of attention. Even the Beauxbaton girls were gossiping about you. You ran and tried to find a safe, quiet space where you couldn't hear a single soul talk badly about you and you alleged encounter with your two best friends. All the insults and words of disgust were what you can hear and you tried to pull yourself together so you wouldn't break down in front of everyone. You were a strong, feisty lady but that doesn't mean you are always strong.
Fear. Anxiety. Shame.
All of those feelings were mixing up inside of you and you were a bomb waiting to explode if you don't get out of their sight as soon as possible. You wanted to find your best friends but everything seemed a blur as your tears were brimming and about to fall.
Suddenly you bumped into a figure. You hoped it was one of your best friends but this person seemed too small for it to be them.
"Well well if it isn't the little slut." It was Jennie together with her girls.
"Not today, Jennie." You say as you tried to walk away but she pulled you back.
"I knew it. You weren't 'just' friends with Jungkook and Taehyung. You are a flirt do you know that? No wonder every girl in school tried to distance themselves from you to avoid catching your slut fever." Jennie smirked.
That was it..you were going to breakdown right there in the middle of the crowd were tons of eyes are watching you. What Jennie said affected you although what she said wasn't true but the fact that she insulted you in front of a lot of students made you feel small and hurt. The tears started falling from your eyes and fists formed from your two hands until it bled. You were sad but furious at the same time.
"You can't even say a word. Does that mean the rumours were true? You're dating Park Jimin but you fucked your two best friends in a broom closet?
Shocking." She continued.
"SHUT UP!" You yell. "YOU FOUL, LOATHESOME, EVIL LITTLE —"
"HEY!" You heard a boy's voice which cut you off and stopped you from pulling out your wand. It wasn't Jungkook's nor Taehyung's. It was Park Jimin. You looked at him as the crowd splits to make way for him. Everyone looked scared and decided to stay quiet instead of murmuring more gossip.
"Well hello there, Jimin." Jennie greeted Jimin.
"Why is my girlfriend crying?" Jimin said in a furious tone.
"Oh! I guess you haven't heard. Your slut of a girlfriend here just—" before Jennie could finish what she was saying, Jimin pointed his wand at her.
"If you call my girlfriend a slut one more time, I'll make sure you puke slugs for the rest of your life." Jimin threatened her which made her gulp and shut her mouth. "If anyone here talks behind y/n's back, I won't hesitate and jinx you with the worst jinxes that ever existed in the wizarding world!" Jimin made it loud and clear.
"Jimin..stop." You pulled on his robes.
"No, Y/N." He softly said to you and then turned to face Jennie again.
"Why so mad, Jimin? Why be with her when you can be with me? You don't want to be seen hanging around with the wrong sort." Jennie offered her hand attempting to invite Jimin.
"I think I could tell the wrong sort myself, thanks." Jimin rebutted then suddenly low whispers started again. Min Yoongi was walking towards you.
"The rumours aren't true, even Mr. Filch who found them said so. Maybe they were about to do it or were just mushed together because the space was too tight. Who knows?" Yoongi said. That was the first time in years that Min Yoongi defended someone. He usually didn't care about anyone except Jimin. "All I believe is that none of your rumours are true."
"What do you mean it's not true! I even heard them talking about how good it was until Mr. Filch found them!" Jennie suddenly speaks.
"Tell that to veritaserum." He smirked and waved his wand and suddenly Jennie's body froze. Yoongi put a drop of veritaserum into Jennie's mouth and unfroze her. Was this even allowed? What if Yoongi gets expelled for using that on a fellow student without authorization? Or did he get authorization from Professor Snape maybe?
"Fuck you!" She spat.
"So tell me Jennie, was it you who started the rumour?" Yoongi asked. Jennie struggled to stop herself from talking but it seemed to cause her pain.
"Yes! It was me!" Jennie blurted out. Everyone gasped except her friends who were looking away.
"Did you see them do the 'thing' you said they were doing?" He asked again. Jennie's whole body shook.
"Of course I—aahh" she screamed in pain. "No no I didn't! I made it all up to get back at her for being too close to Jungkook!" She cried. "Please no more." She fell to the ground. Everyone who was there was shocked of the admittance.
"Alright." Yoongi smirked and gave you a wink.
"Let's go." Jimin held your hand and pulled you away from the crowd as Yoongi followed. You guys found a nice quiet spot near the black lake. The three of you sat down, Yoongi leaning on a tree while Jimin sat beside you on the grass.
"Thank you, Yoongi." You said and Yoongi just nodded.
"Hey! What about me?" Jimin whined like a little kid. Who knew this boy was cute enough to make you smile after a horrible event.
"Thanks to you too, Jimin." You said.
"You okay?" Jimin asked. This was something new. After all of your encounters with Jimin, you didn't expect that there was this soft side. He always seemed arrogant and too full of himself over the years but this time it was different.
"Yeah I'm fine.." You answered. "Aren't we going to get in trouble for using veritaserum on Jennie?" You asked. Yoongi looked unbothered and Jimin doesn't look worried at all.
"Like you said before, Snape has favoritism." He chuckled.
Relieved, the three of you spent a peaceful time beside the lake.
"So what's the deal with you and Jennie?" Jimin asked.
"Well, Jennie's my cousin. No one in Hogwarts know we're cousins except for Jungkook and Tae, and well, both you and Yoongi now. We were quite close when we were kids but as we grew up, we grew further apart. Maybe because her father, my uncle, always compared her to me which made her hate me I guess." You explained.
"So she's jealous." Jimin chuckled.
"I guess? And what she said earlier about her hating me for being close with Jungkook, I don't get it. She wasn't really on my case back in the earlier years. It only started last year." You shrugged. "The three of us were friends when we were first years but later on Jennie became jealous?"
"Girls." We heard Yoongi sigh.
"From the looks of it, she was also trying so hard to make me notice her right after the rumors spread about us dating." Jimin said.
"Really? That bitch!" You cuss.
"Don't worry though, you're my only one."
"Don't sweat it, Park. I think you and Jennie look good together." You giggle and you heard Yoongi snort.
"Hey! Not funny Yoongs!"
You three spent the rest of your leisure time by the black lake unbothered.
