WE CAN'T BE MORE THAN JUST FRIENDS
Jade stared at the blonde, memorizing all of her beautiful features. Her eyes shut tight as she breathes softly and her soft snores filled the whole sage green colored room, she can't be more than happy to do this. Watching Perrie sleep sounds creepy but it's her only chance, she can't do any of this anymore.
"Is she awa-" Leigh shut her mouth as the sight melts her heart, she sat beside Jade, "You miss her don't you?" She whispered and gander at the sleeping blonde.
"Yeah, but I can't do anything about it" The brunette answered, fighting the urge to touch the sleeping girl's face.
"Yes you can, you're just afraid to do it" The raven-haired girl chuckled, standing up and motioning to the brunette to wake the girl up, "You deserve to be happy too, Jade. Barbie will understand that"
Jade didn't have any choice but to nod, she gets what Leigh-anne is saying, and it's true. She wants to be with Perrie but that would be so unfair and cruel to the redhead, she doesn't want the girl to think that she's just using her to get over Perrie because she's not. She may feel a different kind of love for the redhead but it's genuine, she doesn't want to be the one who'll break her sweet innocent heart. Barbie doesn't deserve any of that, she's just like Jade. They understand each other and they're each other's strength. The redhead is there when Jade feels like she's not capable of love and Jade was there for the redhead when she feels like she's the weakest person on the planet.
Being Perrie's friend is her only opportunity to be this close to the girl but she knows she wants more than that, she just can't do it.
"Pezza, wake up" She whispered and slightly shook the girl's arm, "Hey, we're going to the amusement park today"
The blonde fluttered her eyes, thinking that she's dreaming. Jade can't be the one who is waking her up and this must be a beautiful dream, she doesn't want to wake up.
"Kiss me" She whispered, squinting her eyes and pulling the girl closer to her, and feeling the soft warm lips on hers. She smiled, everything feels so real until the girl pulled away and she realized that it's really real. The blonde widened her eyes, hiding her wrist where the black bracelet is dangling, "Sorry, I thought I was dreaming" She apologized, her cheeks flushing.
"Ehm, at least you're awake," The brunette said and stood up, trying to hide her reddened cheeks, "Just get ready" She mumbled and opened the door.
Jade let out a deep breath, bringing her right hand to her lips. She can't believe that just happened, the butterflies in her stomach are going crazy, again. But, it's just an accident, right? She shouldn't think any of it. Perrie thought she was dreaming that's why she did that but why would she kiss Jade in her dreams?
"Because she's still not over you, idiot" She muttered and slapped her forehead before walking back to the girls, "She's awake" She announced and flopped down on the couch next to Leigh-anne.
"Breakfast is ready" The redhead smiled and motioned for the girls to go to the dining table and eat.
Today, they decided to go to an amusement park and just have fun together since the blonde is in town and Jade wanted the redhead to forget about her problems for a while. Also, she wanted to spend time with Perrie and just see her every now and then, she never wanted the girl to leave her sight. She missed the girl for five months even though she's the one who pushed her away.
"No breakfast for you, you're late," Jesy said and stood up, waiting for the other girls to follow while the blonde just pouted and immediately grabbed an apple.
Perrie followed the four girls, noticing that she's going to drive alone while they have companions. She frowned and slipped on her seatbelt, turning on the radio and vibing to whatever song is playing.
"Fuck. You are so stupid, now it's going to be awkward" She mumbled to herself and followed Jade's car. She didn't really mean to kiss Jade but she doesn't regret it either, it was a great kiss even though it's just for a couple of seconds. She missed doing that.
Now, she doesn't know if Jade still wants to be friends with her and she doesn't want that. She really likes being close to the brunette and just talking to her about different and nonsense things. What if Jade ignores her and treats her like she wasn't there? That would break her already broken heart. But, it is an accident so she can get out of it, right?
She huffed, now panicking about her friendship with the brunette. Yes, she wants more than that but take what you are given. She couldn't be happier with the awkward friendship that they have and the brunette is starting to warm up to her little by little.

"Eat shit, Leigh-anne!" Jesy shouted before showing the raven-haired girl the stuffed bear that she won on one of the games. Perrie shook her head while smiling, she's going to miss all of this. After a lot of thinking last night and the reason why she didn't wake up early, she decided that she's going to live in New York, for good. She's going to sell her flat and just visit her friends for their birthdays, no one is going to wait for her in the UK anymore.
Her eyes darted at Jade and her girlfriend, they looked so happy. A bitter smile formed on her face, she's happy for the both of them. They deserve each other and she will never ruin their beautiful relationship. She might like Jade but that doesn't mean she's going to steal the brunette from the redhead.
The blonde sat on one of the benches, putting her hand on her empty stomach. She hasn't had anything except her apple and she's really hungry, "Here" She lifted her head and saw the brunette holding a burrito, she raised her eyebrows as she took the food.
"Thanks" She smiled and started eating, "Barbie got you that"
Perrie didn't know if she's going to roll her eyes or just smile, "Yeah, thanks" She repeated and just looked at their two other friends still playing at one of the booths, "They act like children" The brunette laughed after Jesy threw the ball at Leigh-anne instead.
"I want one" The blonde blurted out which made Jade looked at her. Her cheeks immediately flushed, she didn't mean to say that aloud. She was just thinking of it, "Really?" Jade asked and stood up, Barbie is in the restroom and Perrie is alone so why not spend time with her, right?
"Do you even know how to play basketball?" Perrie quirked a brow when Jade pulled her on one of the basketball booths, the brunette just shrugged and paid the guy, "Just watch" She confidently said and tried to shoot the first ball but missed.
"What am I watching?" The blonde asked after Jade missed all of her turns, "You try it" Jade hissed and slightly pushed the girl. Perrie just shook her head and laughed before paying and starting to throw the balls.
"Oh my god, I got it!" Perrie shouted and looked at Jade, the brunette's mouth gape and hugged the blonde out of surprise, "You won!" She shouted and they both jumped, still in each other's arms.
"What should we get?" Perrie awkwardly asked and pulled away from their celebratory hug, "The unicorn one" Jade nodded and pointed at the mint green unicorn hanging on the side of the booth.
"We'll get that one" She pointed and the guy handed her the unicorn, "Thanks, Jeed" She smiled and hugged her big unicorn.
Jade smiled at the girl's new nickname for her, she really liked it or she just loves how Perrie says it. Well, she like everything about the girl so it wasn't really a surprise. The two walked back to their friends with the blonde girl still hugging her big unicorn, "Should we get you one?" She asked, looking at the same booth where Jesy and Leigh are playing.
"Sure, babe" The brunette answered and didn't even realize that she called the other girl babe. Perrie just smiled and didn't bother bringing it up and just played the game instead, "You can do it, Pez. I believe in you" She teased and hold Perrie's left hand.
"Fuck" The blonde exclaimed when she missed her first turn since her heart is beating too fast because of the brunette's simple touch, "Come on, Pez. I want the ladybug" Jade said as she pulled the blonde girl's hand.
Perrie took a deep breath and squinted her eyes, looking at the pyramid of cans. "You can do this, for Jade" She mumbled to herself and threw the ball, hitting the pyramid of cans. Her eyes widened and she looked at the brunette, squeezing her into a tight hug again and cupping the girl's face with both of her hands, "I did it, Jeed"
"Yes, I got a ladybug!" The brunette yelled and pulled away to get her ladybug and she also saw the redhead get back. Times up.
"Thank you, Perrie" She shyly smiled and handed the girl's unicorn back. The blonde watched the girl as she walked away and go back to the arms of the girl who really owns her, the redhead who has every right to call Jade hers and be with her the whole day. Her shoulders fell down and sat on the bench with her big unicorn.
"You guys are back together or what?" Jesy asked and sat beside her, crushing the unicorn in the process, "You're sitting on it" She hissed and set the stuffed animal on her lap, "We're not. Can't you see she's with the Barbie"
Jesy hugged her friend, "Don't worry I'll kidnap Jade and lock the two of you in one of my Mother's islands" The blonde rolled her eyes even though she really loves the idea of getting locked in an island with the love of her life.
"Eh, she's really happy with her and I wouldn't want to take that away from her" She answered and leaned her head on the older girl's shoulder, "She doesn't look very happy to me"
Jade is different when she's with Perrie and when she's with the redhead, there's a line that divides the two, and everyone can see that. Jade is more motherly when she's with the redhead like she's afraid that something bad might happen to her, she's fragile and that's why Jade can't leave her. While her relationship with Perrie is more affectionate. You can clearly see the love between the two. Their smiles that they only show when the other is around and the way their eyes still locked even though they're in the room of people, they can never get enough of each other.
"Don't be a devil and give me ideas, Jes" She warned the other girl as they both stare at the two. Whatever Jesy said made Perrie think, something that she really doesn't like to do. It stresses her and who wants to stress themselves?
"But she's smiling" She shrugged and saw how panic flashed in the brunette's face when the girl put her hand on her chest but the redhead quickly laughed about it, "Is she sick or something?" The blonde asked but Jesy just shook her head.
"Let's ride the rollercoaster" Leigh-anne appeared on their faces like a wild pokemon and quickly pulled the two to stand up, "What about the love birds?" Jesy asked and looked at the two other girls.
"No, Barbie can't ride rollercoasters," She said like it was nothing. Perrie's brows knit and just let herself get dragged to wherever "Is Barbie sick?" she asked and the girl froze and looked at her, "No" The girl mumbled and continued pulling the two.
"Wait for me!" They all looked at the brunette with a ladybug on her arms running towards them without Barbie by her side, that's so unusual, "Vivi said she's going to watch one of the shows" Jade explained and took Perrie's hands with a shy smile on her face, pretending that she doesn't realize they're holding hands.
Jesy raised her eyebrows at the blonde but didn't say anything, they just followed Leigh-anne to one of the rollercoasters and stand in the line, "I don't want to wait" Perrie complained and squeezed the brunette's hand.
"It's going to be quick, see it's already moving" Leigh answered and followed the not-really-long line, they waited for a few minutes, and finally, it's their time to ride, "I can't do it" She whispered and stepped back, looking at Jade with apologetic eyes.
"You can do it, Pez" The brunette encouraged her and squeezed her hands, "Come on, Perrie don't be a pussy" Jesy nudged her shoulder and sat on the ride next to Leigh.
"Come on, Pez" Jade smiled at her and pulled her to sit, the brunette locked the blonde's seatbelt for her and held her hand, "I'll hold you, okay? Like we're in the plane" Oh, the things that they'll do to just go back to their old lives, quietly cuddling in their beach house and spending the whole day in each other's arms.
The three-second countdown ended and the ride started. Perrie closed her eyes and squeezed the brunette's hand tightly, she didn't breathe or even bother looking at anything. She just sat there, feeling like she's going to fall any second.
"Hey, you're okay" Jade giggled and touched her cheek, "I don't want to look" She whispered and waited for the drop, "If i'm going to die, Jade, I just want you to know that I lov-" Perrie didn't finish her sentence when the ride goes down so is her heart.
She held her breath and looked at the brunette with one eye, the girl looked beautiful as the wild wind blow through her curly hair, and a wide nervous smile is plastered on her face, "You look beautiful!" She shouted.
"You okay?" Jade asked the blonde when the tide finally stopped and helped her to stand up, Perrie doesn't have any energy to say anything so she just nods, multiple times, "I'm going to die" She whispered and buried her face on the brunette's hair, "Is she alright?" She heard Jesy asked.
"I don't know, Jesminda you tell me?" She hissed and massaged her spinning head, "This is your fault, Leigh-anne" She covered her face with her hands as she sat on the ground, feeling dizzy.
"I'll get you something, babe," Jade said and kissed the blonde's hair, not giving a care to the pair of eyes that the other two give her, "She called you babe, Pez" Jesy crouched down and brushed the girl's hair to her back, "Really? I heard ape" She sarcastically answered popping the letter p
"Here, drink this" The brunette sat down, handing the girl a can of ginger ale, "Leigh-anne this is your fault" She glared at the raven-haired girl standing in front of them.
"Eh, feel better, Pez. We're going to ride another rollercoaster. Keep an eye on our babe, Jade" The girl snickered and dragged Jesy away, leaving the two in the middle of the ground. Jade shook her head and helped the blonde sit on one of the benches, "Thanks, Jeed" Perrie whispered and rested her head on the brunette's shoulder.
"Do you want to eat ice cream?" Jade asked, taking the girl's hand and brushing the back of it with her thumb, "Yes, please" The blonde answered and let the brunette stand up.
Perrie watched her get ice cream for the both of them with a small smile on her face, she doesn't know when will the redhead come back but she'll surely treasure this moment, she'll gladly get what she's given, "I saw a photo booth there" Jade announced and gave the girl her ice cream. The blonde smiled, they're like a couple.
"Do you want to go?" She asked and licked Jade's chocolate-flavored ice cream, "You have yours" The girl hissed, "But yes"
"Let's go" She smiled and pulled the brunette's hand to stand up.
The two entered the small booth, Perrie inserted a coin and it started counting, "It's so fast" She said through her gritted teeth, trying to smile widely, "Yeah, I know-" Jade frowned when the photo captured while she's talking, making the blonde laugh.
"This is the last one, better be read-" Perrie didn't finish her sentence when the brunette captured her lips, she kissed her back with a wide smile on her face, "That looks good," Jade said reaching for the photos that came out of the machine. The blonde sat there, frozen. Her heart beating fast and she doesn't even know what to do.
"Here's yours" Jade handed the girl her own copy of the pictures before putting hers in her bag, "Earth to Perrie" She giggled and tapped the blonde's nose.
"Yeah, thanks" Perrie giggled and did the same then followed Jade who got out of the booth, "My ice cream melted" She frowned and looked at her ice-cream-covered hands, grinning and wiping it on Jade's shirt.
"Perrie!" Jade yelled and threw her cone of ice cream on the other girl, "No, Jade no" The blonde said and tried to put her hand on Jade's shoulder, "I love this shirt" She snickered and hugged the brunette instead, letting the girl wipe her hands on the back of her shirt.
The two looked like two kids having fun, they missed each other and who wouldn't want to do any of this with the love of their life. They only have a few hours to spend, alone and they'll go back to just friends.
"And I love this" Jade answered and kissed the girl's cheek, "Come on, Edwards you need to get me a new shirt"
Perrie shook her head, trying to wipe away the stupid smile on her face. This is the best day of her life, "Why are there so many candy canes?" She asked when she finally watched up to the brunette, "It's the end of November, what do you expect?" Jade answered, pulling Perrie to go inside the amusement park's shop.
"Your birthday is coming up, what do you want to do?" Perrie asked while looking at the shirts, "It's too early, Pez. You need to pass Christmas first" Jade answered, hiding her smile when the girl finally knew her birthday.
"Periwinkle" Jade laughed, handing the girl a periwinkle-colored shirt with a small flower in the middle, "Here" The blonde laughed and shoved a light blue shirt with a unicorn on the brunette's chest.
Jade looked at the girl with a confused face then bounced to their empty arms, "Where are our animals?" She asked and the blonde eye's widened, "I think we left it on the guy on the rollercoaster, we'll get it back" Perrie answered and pulled Jade to pay for their new shirts and hopefully, get their animals back.
After changing their shirts, the two walked back to the rollercoaster, hand entwined tightly, "Do you know where our animals are?" The brunette asked and the guy motioned for them to follow, the two squealed when they saw their poor kids on the floor, "What happened?" Perrie asked and hugged her unicorn.
"We're not getting paid to look for your stuffed bears, Miss, and aren't you too old for that type of shit?" The guy rudely said while leading the way to the exit, "Well, fuck you!" Jade shouted and pulled the blonde away.
The two laughed, they got their animals back and they're with each other, "It's time for lunch, let's go meet the other girls" Jade said and pulled the blonde's hand to the restaurant where they're going to eat.
Perrie nodded, not knowing if she should be happy that they're finally going to eat lunch or feel down because Barbie is going to be back in the picture again and she'll probably never touch Jade's hand for the rest of the day. Their time is ending and she just can't do anything about it except accept and watch Jade in the arms that don't belong to her.
