I walk through the damp grass as I move closer to the light. Nerves start bashing me in the head. I had completely convinced myself that it would most likely be Schlatt.
I was a god distance away from the person when they finally stopped moving. I hid behind a tree, just to be safe.
"Is anyone out there?" A deep worried voice called out.
Erets.
Thank god it's them and not Schlatt.
I hesitantly walk out from behind the tree.
"Oh it's just you, Gracie. Why are you out here this late?"
"I couldn't sleep. Why are you out here?"
—Erets pov—
I look at my clock.
2:20
Perfect. It takes me about 5 minutes to get to where I was meant to meet Dream and his people so I should have enough time to get ready and stuff.
By 2:24, I was out the door. I grabbed a torch and put my netherite sword, my bow and my shield in my inventory, just incase.
After walking for about 5 minutes, I see a light on through a window. I haven't exited the l'Manburg yet so it was strange to see someone awake. Who is it tho? I had never payed any attention to who lived where so I had no idea who it could be.
I start walking faster to make sure that I whoever was up wouldn't notice me. After walking a bit more, I get to the front of the wall near the gate.
*Crack*
A branch snaps.
"Is anyone there?" I say worriedly out of instinct.
I see a small figure walk out from behind a tree.
"Oh it's just you, Gracie. Why are you out here this late?"
"I couldn't sleep. Why are you here?" She says almost sounded relieved.
She probably thought I was someone from the smp- technically, I am but... Nononononoononon. Shut up. Think of a response idiot!
"I'm, um, nervous for tomorrow?" I respond almost like a question. She looks at me skeptically.
Shitshitshitshitshitshit. She definitely knows.
"Um, okay then? Make sure that you go to sleep soon I guess You need rest for tomorrow."
"Yeah, thanks. You too." She walks away nodding her head in confusion.
At least she doesn't know that i'm meeting up with Dream one last time, that could've ended badly, she could definitely take me out in one punch
When she gets out of view I quickly put out my torch. No way I was getting caught again.
It was a bit harder to see where I was going now but i'll work through it.
I sneak out of the black fence attached to the wall and run out.

I start getting more and more nervous for tomorrow as I got closer and closer to the community house where we would be going over our final plans.
I had to betray all my friends and family, and over what? A title? Power? Respect? Wow, selfish. You are leavening the only people that actually care about you behind? Honestly, shame on you.
That's what one side of my head was telling me. On the other side, I had thoughts very displeasing thoughts as well.
Think about how many people will look up to you. And your 'friends' don't care about you anyways. It's their faults for trusting you in the first place. At the end of the day, it's the world against you. Stop looking at this like it is a bad thing. In the end, no matter how much you want to deny it, you are the only thing that matters in this world, the same goes for everyone else! If you jumped into Wilburs head, he would be the only thing that truly mattered.
Both sides made a lot of sense. I didn't want to betray my friends but at the same time, did i really matter?
As I step onto the pressure plate that open up the gate to get onto the wooden path surrounded by water, leading me to the community house, my heart starts racing.
Go in there and tell them the deal is off.
No! This is the best option.
My head argued which made me even more nervous.
Before I knew it, I was stepping onto the last pressure plate in sight, the one that would open the door to the 3 most intimidating people on that I knew.
Just breathe, it will be okay.
I step on it and the door swings open. There they were, the 3 of them.
"Eret." The masked one standing in the middle spoke.
We're they waiting for me? They were standing at the door impatiently when I arrived. Was I late?
"Hehe, we thought you weren't gonna come." The short one with the glasses giggled.
"Yeah, like jeez, take your time." Sapnap added.
"Yeah, sorry. I-"
"So you want to go over the plan one more time?" Dream interrupted.
"Yeah..."
——-Back to Gracie's pov when her and Eret saw each other——
"Oh it's just you, Gracie. Why are you out here this late?"
"I couldn't sleep. Why are you here?" I respond trying to sound genuine but probably ended up sounding happy that it wasn't who I had originally thought it was.
"I'm, um, nervous for tomorrow?" They say in a weird voice.
This makes me cringe a little.
"Um, okay then? Make sure that you go to sleep soon I guess. You need rest for tomorrow." I say trying to cover up my rude slip up with politeness.
No wonder people don't like you. You're and asshole to everyone. (Think that in a joking way)
"Yeah, thanks. You too." I walk away.
That was weird.
After a few minutes of walking, I get to Wilburs house. I take the key from out of underneath the door mat and unlock it.
The sight of the dark house with all the lights off makes me smile. It reminds me of all the times I would sneak out with Fundy in the middle of the night to go and sit in the field and watch the sunrise, then sneak back in before Wilbur would wake up. I missed that. I walk up the familiar circular stairs and make my way up to Wilburs room.
I gently push open the door. He's loudly snoring as usual.
I walk up to his bed and gently push on his shoulder.
"Wilbur?" I whisper.
He groans and his eyes slowly opens.
"Gracie?" He mumbles tiredly.
"I had another dream."
He sits up against the bed frame.
"About Schlatt?"
My heart jumps a bit at his name.
"Yeah." I say a bit louder, barely whispering anymore.
"Hm. Okay, do you want to stay here the night?"
"Really?"
"Yeah. You could go in your old room. Do you want to talk about your dream now or in the morning, do you want to talk about it at all actually? If you don't that's fine."
I'm so glad I found someone like Wilbur. He's so understanding and kind.
"We could talk about it in the morning."
"Okay." He smiles. "And if you get another dream about him again tonight, you could come in here and we could figure something out. Okay?"
"Okay. Thank you. I really do appreciate it."
This give him a smile on his and he opens his arms for a hug.
I put my knee on the bed and return him the hug.
After what felt like forever, we let go and I walk out of his room.
Walking down the familiar hallway that I hadn't seen in a few months felt nice except, the last time I was here, Fundy and Wilbur were in another fight over something dumb. I'm pretty sure it started off as Fundy bringing a squirrel into the house and taking it as a pet but then escalated a lot. To the point where they started bringing up Fundys mother. I haven't been here since. The loud voices yelling reminded me of Schlatt so I started sleeping at my newly built house. After I started staying at my house, Fundy made his own and so did Tommy. Tommy is still young tho, so he sleeps here a lot.
My mind drifts off about random memories of this house, the good ones and the bad ones until I walk up to my room.
I smile and open the door. It's the exact same as it was before. Still the same white sheets, the same grey curtains. The same wooden desk. All the same. It's nice to know that some things will never change.
I get into bed and soon enough, fall asleep.
