one thing by one direction starts playing. you're holding payton's hand so tight and yelling the lyrics into your hands like a microphone.
both | CAUSE YOU'VE GOT THAT ONE THING! SO GET UP GET UP...
he kisses your hand. when you arrive at the campsite faith and brandon are already there. you get out of the car and greet them.
F | brandon wanted to start a fire so bad.
P | and it's not started? how long have you been here?
F | like a half hour.
she laughs.
P | oh brandon. oh brandon. let me help you.
he walks over to brandon. faith puts her hand on your shoulder.
F | boys.
she said sarcastically. you smile.
F | do you want to try and set up the tent?
A | yeah!
F | come help me get it out of the car.
while the boys start up a fire you and faith get up the tent.
A | we did it!
F | yes!!
you walk over and give her a high five.
A | and you guys still haven't started the fire.
F | payton i though you said you got this. it does not look like it.
P | shut up! we're trying.
you put your hand on his back.
A | it's okay. we'll leave you to it.
P | thank you.
you and faith sit down in chairs watching the boys. you take a selfie with her and post it with the caption it "we just set up a tent. it only took a few minutes longer for them to start the fire. payton came and wrapped his arms around you from behind the chair.
A | good job.
you say scratching his head. you all settle down by the fire and talk. get to know each other. payton's holding your hand tight. later you sit in hammocks and as it begins to get late you're laying with your head in payton's lap as he sits on his phone.
P | are you having fun aug?
A | yeah! of course.
P | are you sure.
A | anywhere i go with you, i'll have fun.
he smiles. you pull his head down for a kiss. i can't believe HE is my boyfriend like.. wow.
*Payton's POV*
after i finally worked up the nerve to ask audrey to be my girlfriend she said yes! can you believe that. she has to be the most beautiful girl i've ever seen. i've been having this inescapable thought that something is going to go wrong when i'm gone. at tour. i cannot afford to lose her. i don't think anything will. i hope nothing will but she is beautiful and i'm just... me.
P | i can't believe you chose a guy like me.
A | really? i could turn that sentence right around.
P | what is there not to like about you.
A | i'm annoying.
P | oh shut up you are not.
she laughs. i'm such a simp.
*Back to Audrey's (your) POV*
i kinda feel like something's bothering payton but i can't pinpoint it. he's just been acting a little off. i don't feel like now's good time since were with faith and brandon. maybe i can get him somewhere private.
A | hey! i think i left my charging block in the car.
P | oh, i can go get it for you.
A | no, i got it. you can come with me.
P | alright.
he follows closely behind as you open the passenger door.
A | can i talk to you, payton?
P | yeah? always.
A | i didn't want to do it around faith and brandon.
P | why? what's up?
A | i was going to ask you? you've been acting weird.
P | oh no no. i'm fine. are you okay?
A | yeah?
P | okay. that's good.
A | are you sure?
P | baby.
he walks around the car and puts his hand through your hair.
P | i'm doing amazing. especially since i'm here with you.
you can't help but smile.
A | okay good. let's get back out to them then
P | what about your-
A | i was just trying to get you out here.
P | slick.
A | i know right.
you sit back down in your hammock and post these on your instagram.
