Nervously, The Avocado glanced at the other fresh fruit lining the gym.

Two people he didn't recognize, and two people remembered to be The Orange from Physics and The Apple from Geometry. Of course, there was also his best friend who was standing slightly more confident next to him.

High school, The Avocado thought, was scary.

He didn't know anyone in the room well aside from You. The old fruits were scary and the ripe ones gave him looks that made him rather uncomfortable. But it was okay, because You were there and you wouldn't let anyone hurt him.

Still, You could tell The Avocado was nervous. As soon as the water break rolled around and the prying eyes of the rest of the gym were busy with their own activities, you stood on his toes to give The Avocado a light kiss on the check.

The Avocado relaxed a little and You smiled lightly to himself. "4."

As of now, the start of their first year of high school and early into their relationship, you've had shared 4 kisses - only on the cheeks, (or forehead in The Avocado's case considering he was taller), they had a lifetime, why rush?

The gaze of their teammates wasn't entirely gone, as The Orange snickered and The Apple showed a smug smile. They mimicked them momentarily, The Orange reaching up to give his own boyfriend a chaste kiss on the cheek.

The Avocado only rolled his eyes, reaching down and laying a kiss on your cheek and mentally noting that they will not be outdone. "5."

You were pretty red, but nobody was paying attention as they only watched The Apple do the same from a few feet away.

~

They were quick to become friends with The Orange and The Apple - and eventually, The Orange and The Apple figured they couldn't out Pizza the Hut.

"You, bro, what's with you glaring daggers at the fresh fruit?"

With a dramatic roll of your eyes, You turned sharply towards The Apple. "I'm doing no such thing."

The stinky rotten fruit was gone and new unripe fruits had joined the team. They didn't know the newbies too well yet, but The Avocado was quick to befriend The Blueberry and The Peach. The Duran, on the other hand, didn't even want to talk to him or anyone for that matter.

The Apple smirked, slinging an arm around your shoulders. "Geez, you're shorter than I remember. But anyway, I don't know why you're jealous, he's just talking to them."

"I'm not jealous," You sighed, "Just, what if The Avocado decides he likes one of them more than me?"

A frown graced The Apple's lips. "I wouldn't worry about that."

"What are you implying with that?"

"I mean," The Apple smiled, "First of all, I think the angry looking unripe fruit would mash The Avocado's pit if he went for The Peach, and second I think The Blueberry is in a relationship."

You only sighed again, running your hand through your hair. "You're right I think he's got a girlfriend. Still, The Avocado might end up liking them more than me."

"You're stupid," The Apple bonked your (fruit type stem), "Stupid, stupid, if you think The Avocado would ever like anyone over you. I'd bet you he's telling them about how awesome you are right now."

Oh, The Avocado was. And he didn't pause his passionate ranting for nothing, but the look on your face gave him the idea he should go see what's wrong.

With an excited bounce in his step, The Avocado made his way over to you. "Hey, (your name)! What's up?"

You moved to give the usual response of 'nothing', but The Apple was there first. "Not much, just this small kid over here doubting your love for him."

The Avocado gasped and frowned, moving a hand to his hip. "Am I not showy enough? Should I make it more evident?"

"No, The Avocado, it's-"

your words of protest were quickly interrupted with The Avocado's lips on your own, your face flushing quickly but before you could settle into it, The Avocado was already a foot away from you. You wanted to yell at The Avocado for making him all flustered during practice, but you couldn't.

You just stood there, still trying to grasp the feeling of The Avocado's smooth lips and trying not to pass out on the spot. The Avocado giggled, leaning closer to collide your foreheads. His gaze was affectionate and You wondered how someone could possibly have so much adoration in their eyes. (not that you could tell, but your eyes had just as much sweetness towards The Avocado.)

"You guys know I'm still here, right?"

~

A grin filled The Avocado's face as he watched You trip over yourself and nearly fall.

He was evil, in the sweetest way possible.

For You, this was your first, (and only), relationship and being completely whipped for The Avocado as you are, you swooned over every little thing - this was far from an exception.

With a genuine smile, The Avocado had looked you dead in the eye, winking as he said, "Good luck on the French test, mon amor~!"

You couldn't blame The Avocado so you took it out on the French language. How awful of French for letting The Avocado sound so smooth with the foregin words of endearment, and how awful of the school administers for letting him into a class to learn it.

You only glared at The Avocado, balancing yourself out as you quickly packed your lunch mess to rush off to French class. The Avocado caught you, however, mid rush and placed a quick kiss on your forehead. "38. Good luck again, darling!"

You wished you'd studied harder, although you knew the reason you failed was The Avocado and his stupid sweet moments you couldn't bring his thoughts away from.

~

Triumphantly, The Avocado showed off his box of matcha-flavored pocky.

You quirked an eyebrow, not paying it much mind as you continued your school work. That was obviously not the reaction The Avocado wanted, so he scooted closer and grabbed one, looking expectantly at You.

"What do you want, why are you looking at me like that?!"

The Avocado only hummed, gesturing to the box he'd set on the table. "Pocky."

"Uh-huh." You furrowed your eyebrows, eyes drifting back to his textbook. "I can see that."

With an exaggerated sigh, The Avocado set one in your hand. "They're your favorite!"

You shrugged, breaking off a bit with your teeth as you stared blankly at The Avocado. "Thanks, I guess?"

Whatever, The Avocado thought, grabbing his own piece. He didn't need some stupid challenge anyway.

You noted The Avocado's change in expression, and you sorted through his brain. You'd figured The Avocado wanted to do the pocky challenge as he seemed to enjoy romance cliches. You weren't against it, far from it really, but you weren't sure how to initiate something like that.

You carefully reached over and grabbed a new piece, cautiously bringing it to his lips and setting it evenly so it balanced. You tapped The Avocado's thighs, and all unease vanished once you saw the giddy look in The Avocado's eyes.

You forgot the main point of the game was to not pull away soon after starting.

Not that you would've lost still, but you didn't even want to move. You liked having a reason to be so close to your hot boyfriend and admire his features without the other making some snarky comment.

The pocky didn't break, and with a half smile The Avocado gave you a quick kiss before pulling away. "53, looks like that was a tie. Up for a rematch?"

You smiled yourself, grabbing another piece.

~

You make me feel like sugar-coated mangos, (reader fruit-insert)! I love you!

You stared questionably at the heart-covered note you'd found in his locker, undoubtedly from The Avocado.

The Avocado was cheesy, but this wasn't cheesy, it was mango-y and You didn't know how this was supposed to be considered a valentine. Under the note were several large bags of dried mangos, taking up at least half his locker.

You'd expected a volleyball pun, maybe something overused or a cliche saying drawn on a store-bought card, but this out-mangoed his expectations. With a small chuckle, You set the note in his pocket and shoved a bag of mangos in his backpack.

Not thinking much of it, You opened one bag to keep in his locker and ate one.

They were really good, and You were at least pleased The Avocado had remembered his disapproval of chocolate.

By the proud smile on The Avocado's face as he rushed up to You, bags of gifts from random girls hanging off his arms, it was evident he was excited with his valentine creation. "(reader insert fruit), (reader insert fruit)!"

You hummed as you strode closer to The Avocado, habitually intertwining your hands as you greeted your boyfriend. "Hey, 'Cado. How was class?"

Gesturing to the overflowing bags, The Avocado grinned. "Great, actually! I only got half the amount I got last year, I think you're finally starting to scare them off!"

Not that you'd admit it, but You hoped you were scaring people off. How hard was it to see that he was taken? "I'm not that bad, meany-cado! Besides, remember how scared you were of the moldy fruits? Of course they'd be nervous!"

The Avocado huffed but nonetheless understood where you were coming from. "Yeah, yeah. But hey, you can't complain since you don't have a lot to carry!"

You thought back to the many bags of mangos in your locker and the one in his backpack. Had you chosen to carry all of them, you would've been carrying more than The Avocado.

The Avocado grinned as he leaned down momentarily, giving his boyfriend a quick kiss on the lips. "Mm, that was 60 and you didn't get all the sugar off your lips. Glad to know you at least ate some of the mangos!"

You only rolled his eyes as they strolled out of school. "Yeah, yeah, but happy Valentine's Day, 'Cado."

The Avocado smiled in response, "Yeah, happy Valentine's day, darling!"

~

The Avocado and You always spent lunch with The Apple and The Orange in the garden. Seeing as most students ate on the roof or in the cafeteria, it was generally just them with the pretty flowers.

It'd become some kind of routine that The Avocado would bring baked goods on Friday, and naturally today was no expedition.

Today, however, he had homemade fortune cookies and for his first attempt, they looked pretty good. He excitedly passed them between his friends, making sure to give the one with a small heart drawn on the bag to you.

"Fortune cookies?" The Apple grinned, turning the small bag in his palm. "They look nice."

The Orange nodded in agreement, twisting the small tie The Avocado had tied the bags with. "Geez, The Avocado, I swear you and your cookie skills are something."

The Avocado smiled, appreciating his friend's compliments as he was never sure if they'd actually look good or even taste good before he shared them. "Thanks, you two! I'm only hoping they taste as good as they look haha."

You absentmindedly pulled at the paper sticking partly out of one of the cookies. They were folded well, but as You were talented with pulling the paper out gently you managed to get it out in one piece.

The note was white and many small hearts were drawn in red. In the center, in The Avocado's neat, small handwriting, the note read:

I love you so much you look so nice and I love you you are so hot thank you for existing!!!

You grinned at the paper, folding it carefully and setting it in his pocket. "'Cado, come here."

The Avocado raised an eyebrow, but nonetheless set his lunch down and scooted to the other end of the table. "What's up, (insert fruit)?"

With a gentle kiss set on The Avocado's nose, You twirled a strand of The Avocado's hair. "There's 76 for my equally hot boyfriend."

"...geez, it's been three years and you guys still forget we're here!"

~

You weren't sure if you even wanted to graduate.

Fruit School was a shining place in your mind, and you weren't ready to leave. You weren't ready to leave lunches with The Apple, The Orange, and The Avocado, not for a new university team, or even move away from your parents.

At the very least, The Avocado wasn't leaving you.

You'd found a community college in Mcdonalds you'd attend together that even allowed them to dorm together. Still, community college was only so many years before you'd have to move away to pursue your different careers.

You looked at yourself in the mirror. You were dressed in some kind of casual attire for the graduation party you didn't even want to attend, but The Avocado practically begged you and you couldn't say no to a full day of cuddles, homemade cookies, and caillou - that would be a crime.

You heard a knock on the door, giving you a light startle. In a rush, you grabbed your bag and flung yourself down stairs, greeting The Avocado who had a single rose in his hand. "The Avocado!"

The Avocado giggled as he passed the flower to you. "Running late, typical (insert fruit). You ready to go?"

You huffed as you nodded, locking the door behind you as The Avocado dragged you to his car.

The party was loud and obnoxiously colorful and you wanted to go home. The Avocado looked displeased as you were, turning his face in disgust at the hordes of sweaty people grouping around him. "I'm ready to go home."

The Avocado nodded, silently pulling you out of and sighing at the fresh, chilly night air. "That has to mark the worst party I've ever been to."

"That makes two of us," You grimaced as he sidestepped a pile of puke, "I'm never letting you drag me to one of these again."

"We both know that's a lie." The faint light gave The Avocado's grin an angelic glow, and You couldn't help think The Avocado might as well be an angel.

Upon reaching The Avocado's car, parked far out to avoid the other reckless teenage drivers, The Avocado popped the trunk and practically collapsed into his small collection of pillows he kept there. You smiled contently, scooting into the trunk next to your boyfriend.

"Well, whatever. At least we can say we were there." You yawned, twisting on your sides to face The Avocado. "But that was awful."

The Avocado nodded, exhausted from the few minutes they'd spent in the party. "You can say that again..."

Your smile never left your face as you shuffled closer to give The Avocado a quick kiss on the forehead, taking advantage of laying down and having the ability to do so while you could. "94, and hey, The Avocado, you can't fall asleep yet you gotta drive us home!"

"..yeah, yeah, but give me five minutes and then I'll get up."

~

The Avocado huffed as he dropped the cardboard box in his hand. Moving wasn't easy, especially when your dorm was on the 5th floor and the elevator was under repair. He only wished he had muscles like You, who only seemed to sweat a little with each trip up and down.

At least, you were done for the day and had moved all your stuff from home you were planning on keeping into your dorm.

Tomorrow you'd have to go get minimal furniture to fill the rooms a bit, but the school was kind enough to leave rooms with two beds, a kitchen, a table, and a couch for free. Still, the kitchen was minimal and you'd have to get a few pots and pans, a kettle and the other essentials.

Food, too, was something you didn't have yet, so you'd have to go eat at the cafeteria for tonight - but that was another 5 stories down and even if The Avocado was hungry, he wasn't another long trip down the stairs hungry so he'd survive.

He heard the door creak, and heavy steps near the bedroom. "(insert reader fruit)?"

The door opened, revealing You who was in a fine condition, hot as always and The Avocado wanted to cover his face because he was so gross and sweaty. "Hey, 'Cado, wanna meet me in the kitchen for a sec?"

The Avocado whined as he scooted back his bed. "I don't wanna get up, (insert reader fruit), I'm so tired! How are you so, so not tired?!"

You grinned as you pulled The Avocado up, grabbing him bridal style off the bed and marching towards the kitchen. "One of us has to have muscles!"

The Avocado rolled his eyes, sliding quickly onto one of the barstools as soon as You set him down. "Yeah, yeah, you're the muscles I get it. I'm not too jealous though, actually, I think you should be! I'm the one who has you with big muscles."

You chuckled lightly, joining The Avocado on the other barstool. "Eh, I think you'd be jelly if you saw my boyfriend, but regardless, I bought food."

The Avocado perked up, eying You who only smiled and set a wrapped sandwich in front of The Avocado. "Apparently the school's got it's own subway in the cafeteria."

With an excited gasp, The Avocado unraveled the paper to find a hot meatball sub - his favorite, and You were a saint for this. The Avocado reached over, showering you with about a million kisses, You happily accepted them all.

"105, 106, 107, (insert reader fruit), move closer for a second! Thank you, 108..."

~

The Avocado smiled as he watched you run towards him, a grin painting your own face.

It'd only been a few months since you've seen eachother in person last, but that was far too long for the two who had been attached at the hip since first grade. "I missed you, I missed you, I missed you! It's so boring without you, and wait-"

The Avocado gasped at The Pineapple, who was standing awkwardly behind You with a bag in his hand. "The Pineapple-chan?"

"Hello," The Pineapple greeted, "The Avocado-san."

The Avocado's cheeks started to hurt with his smile only growing. "You must be here for The Banana!! He talks so much about you, wait, he didn't tell me you were coming!"

The Pineapple nodded, gesturing to You. "I didn't tell him. Y/n offered to bring me since (your pronouns) were visiting you and I guess you two are temporarily rooming together?"

WIth a brilliant smile still on his face, The Avocado nodded along happily. "Yes!! The Banana-chan is at the store right now, but I'll tell him not to take too long."

The Pineapple smiled, bowing quickly before The Avocado in thanks. "Thank you."

As The Avocado had promised, The Banana was unpacking groceries by the time they arrived at their small rental. "The Avocado-san! Hey, why'd you want me home earl- The Pineapple?!"

The Pineapple smiled as he opened his arms, The Banana immediately dashing from the counter to hug his boyfriend. "Ahh! I missed you! What are you doing here?!"

With a fond smile and a quick ruffle of The Banana's hair, The Pineapple turned to You. "Y/n let me tag along while (your pronouns) were coming to visit The Avocado."

The Banana bounced around the small living room, quickly grabbing his wallet and giving a quick hug to The Avocado before rushing to the door. "Thank you, Y/n!! Come on The Pineapple, there's this really cool restaurant that has really yummy green stuff I want to show you!"

The older boys chuckled as they watched the younger two rush out, The Pineapple nearly tripping trying to keep up with The Banana's speed.

"(insert reader fruit)," The Avocado smiles, "I'm glad you brought The Pineapple-chan. The Banana talks about him a lot, and I don't think they call as often as we do."

You nodded, a peaceful smile gracing your lips. "You're just happy we get the house to ourselves, selfish-cado."

"Nu-uh!" The Avocado pouted, "I'm happy for The Banana! Getting (insert reader fruit) alone time is just a perk!"

"Whatever you say," You grinned, "Liar-cado."

"Rude, (insert reader fruit)!" The Avocado sulked, "You're so rude! You're more of a rude-pants, go back to The Great Land Of Avocados if you're just here to bully me!"

You rolled your eyes, letting your bags drop on the floor as you scooted closer to your boyfriend, resting your head on his shoulder. "Geez, 'Cado, you didn't warn me how tiring the plane ride would be!"

The Avocado immediately drooped his teasing to hug you and give you a quick kiss on his forehead. "180. Aw, I haven't given you a kiss since we left college! I missed you so much."

You frowned up at your boyfriend. "No, I think that was 181. You kissed me goodbye before you left, remember?"

The Avocado nodded, setting his forehead on top of yours. "Aw, you're right. How could I forget?"

"I don't know," You chuckled, "But I think you owe me one more for forgetting."

The Avocado grinned and leaned forward. "I think I do too, 182!"

~

Despite The Avocado's well-paying job, the house he picked was rather small.

The Avocado was beyond excited to buy a house, naturally. He'd been waiting forever and now that You were allowed monthly visits and The Banana was back in The Great Land Of Avocados, it was finally possible.

The house was small by choice because The Avocado didn't want it to feel lonely. Afterall, it was just him, Miso, (his and The Banana's cat they'd found wandering the streets without a collar, of course The Banana wanted to take him but the plane didn't allow pets), and occasionally You.

It'd been just over a month since you'd seen your (fiance!) last, and you were scheduled to visit the next day.

You hadn't seen the house yet, nor had you known The Avocado even bought one, and The Avocado wanted to make sure it was plenty clean and all of the decorations were in place. There were so many plants, at least 5 in each room, and the majority of the lighting was natural, a few lamps around the house for after sunset or early in the morning.

Miso wandered by The Avocado's feet as he prepared the snacks and tea.

His phone went off, signaling he had to be at the airport to pick up You. Groaning as he adjusted a slice of cheese and shoved the plate in the fridge, he threw his shoes on, pet Miso goodbye, and locked the door behind him in a rush.

The drive to the airport was long and boring but The Avocado tried to avoid heavy traffic if possible. The airport was plenty crowded, and The Avocado had to call out for You several times before the you saw him.

"Y/n, Y/n!"

You chuckled at the excited The Avocado's happy chanting, nodding his head while The Avocado jumped around. "The Avocado, The Avocado," you gave, in a somewhat playful tone of The Avocado's. "Wow, where'd all this energy come from? Can I borrow some?"

The Avocado giggled as he embraced his fiance. "No! I need to show you something!"

You rolled your eyes, allowing The Avocado to drag you to his car, smiling slightly at The Great Land Of Avocadosese music playing through the speakers. "What's this super cool thing you want to show me?"

The Avocado grinned as he buckled in, hitting the gas pedal in a rush but quickly slowing down to the proper speed. "It's a surprise!"

You quirked an eyebrow as you watched The Avocado turn past your usual stop. You glanced curiously at the small, white house The Avocado had parked in front of. You heard the door opening from the other side, and watched as The Avocado unlocked the door, a small cat running to greet him.

"Is that Miso?"

The Avocado nodded, inviting You in. "The Banana left him when he went back to The Great Land Of Avocados. So he lives with me!"

"..lives with," Your eyes widened, "You live here?"

The Avocado nodded as he brought You to the kitchen, grabbing the snack plate and iced tea. "I do, I do!"

"Calm it with the 'I do's, darling, you gotta save some for our wedding."

The Avocado turned bright red, covering his face as he nearly threw the plate at his fiance. "You're so smooth, Y/n! You're going to kill me!"

You laughed, replying strongly, "I think your arms are gonna kill you first! Geez, how long does it take to water all these plants?"

The Avocado settled down and shrugged. "I dunno, like half an hour?"

"That's a lot." You observed, unhelpfully. "Now come here and give me my kisses!"

"Ahh!" The Avocado yelped as he was pulled from behind into a hug. "Okay, Okay!"

You smiled at your fiance as he turned around, grabbing his cheeks and giving him a kiss. "199!"

~

White was definitely The Avocado's color.

You had known that since high school, the uniforms always seemed to look good on him.

But wow, high school hadn't prepared you for how hot The Avocado was in that suit.

The Avocado, on the other hand, was trying not to pass out from how 'aww' his soon-to-be-marital-partner looked.

The Avocado didn't pay much attention to whatever the guy was saying. Rather, he took his time looking You in the eyes, it'd be recorded anyway. With a fond smile, The Avocado leaned in to give You a kiss, You doing the same.

As soon as they pulled apart, The Avocado smiled brightly and bopped your nose. "270!"

Even if just The Orange and The Apple understood, the small crowd of family and friends that had traveled all the way to Banana Land cheered.

270 marked the best day of your life - your wedding with the hot Avocado.

~

"Miso-! Ugh!"

The Avocado collapsed onto the sofa, trying to ignore the large pile of cat puke sitting next to the coffee table. "I swear, cat, if I have to clean up one more puke, ahh!"

With a loud groan, The Avocado stared at the pile with disgust. "That's disgusting. So gross."

Y/n, being a good marital partner, entered the room to check up on The Avocado when you heard him whining after plopping on the sofa. "Hey, The Avocado, what's- Ew!"

Y/n dashed to the other side of the room, looking at the pile with detest gleaming in your eyes, staring in horror at your foot that had just barely been saved from stomping in it. "Did you throw up! Oh- I'll go get a blanket and water, you stay-"

"No, no," The Avocado chucked, "It's Miso's. I'll get it."

Seeing the exhaustion is his husband's eyes, You sighed. "I got this one, you get it normally anyway."

Too tired to fight on it,The Avocado nodded and muttered some kind of appreciation to You. You felt your chest flutter with adoration, and wow, being married for 4 years and dating since 8th grade, you're still totally whipped. "...oh, how I love you."

A sleepy grin covered The Avocado's face. "Love you too, Y/n, now come give me a kiss before you clean!"

You fondly chuckled, scooting onto the couch and giving your husband a quick kiss on the forehead. "There you go, darling, I'm gonna-"

"Wait!" The Avocado whined, grabbing you by the wrist and dragging him back down. "478! You owe me another one for forgetting!"

"Oh whatever," You said as you leaned back down to pay what you owed, "You're so dramatic!"

"But you love me!"

"If I didn't, we wouldn't be at 479."

~

Being back in The Great Land Of Avocados was nice - really nice, actually.

The Avocado had finally gotten the okay for a 3 month break, and of course he decided to take an extended trip back to his home.

Thankfully, You had a small apartment in The Great Land Of Avocados for training, so they wouldn't have to pay hotel or rental fees.

His first stop, of course, was back to Avocado Birth Tree to visit his mom. You had booked a flight back too, so you'd get to stay with The Avocado's mom for a while and visit Your mom too.

The Avocado had arrived a day earlier than You, grateful he got to spend the day catching up with his mom but also beyond excited to see his you after a long month. "Mama," He grinned, "Y/n's coming today!"

His mom happily nodded, rubbing The Avocado's unstyled hair. "(your pronouns) are! I'm excited to see my (son/daughter/etc)-in-law again, it's been so long! You kids are both so big!"

The Avocado was quick to jump to the door when the bell rang, embracing you in a tight hug and excitedly ushering you inside, barely giving you time to take off his shoes.

"Mama, mama! Y/n is here!!"

The Avocado's mom smiled. "Oh, you used to get just as excited when Y/n came over for playdates - oh, speaking of, I found the picture book this morning!"

The Avocado's eyes widened and he tried to make a dash for his room, not wanting to sit through another ton of embarrassing memories and "Aww, you were so cute when you were little!"s, but you were there, evil as his mom, making him sit next to you on the couch.

"Mrs. The Avocado, I think I saw the book on your counter. Would you like me to go grab it?"

The Avocado's mom cheekily smiled, setting a cup of tea in front of each of you. "No, but thank you dear, I'll grab it. You keep The Avocado from running off, got it?"

You smirked and nodded, The Avocado sulking in his seat as he dejectedly drank his tea. "You're still just a meany-y/n!"

You rolled your eyes, leaning in to peck your husband's lips. "609, and I liked darling better, besides, little The Avocado is cute!"

The Avocado only grumbled, stirring another clump of sugar into his tea. "...meany-Y/n...."
