I can't remember when,
I last had the occasion to smile,
It's certainly been a while.
I tend to stare at these four walls
Falling into reverie
Of what I thought was me.
I rarely ever go out these days
I manufacture ways to stay at home,
Blaming Covid and its dangers.
I hear all the platitudes,
'Be Kind, find things to smile about.
Easier said than done.
If the phone would deign to ring,
I'd pretend I was not in,
And, I guess, I'm not alone in switching off the phone.
When will this ever end???????

It is written from the perspective of so many out there who are finding these restrictions to our lives impossible to deal with. Please spare a thought for them.
