cops siren blare and pope throws his books in the backseat where i turn my page in my book after already getting hooked into it
"go just leave them" jj says panicked i pat his knee turning yet another page in my book
he pulls me onto his lap watching me scan my eyes through the words on every page my eyes filled with every emotion
pope smiles through the rear view mirror shaking his head to himself looking at the sweet vulnerable state me and jj are in since we always bicker with each other
