After the group got instructions on how the game works and put on their gear everyone was really hyper. The staff girl explained everything and Hwayoung noticed how she watched the boys more closely than the girls. Of course she couldn't deny the fact that all boys were very attractive. The name tag of the girl showed her name was Nami and Siyeon noticed her looks too.
"Look how she glances at Bomin. That boy is so oblivious.", Siyeon whispered to Hwayoung and the girls started giggling making Youngtaek turn around.
"Who are we gossiping about?", he asked innocently but when Hwayoung wanted to answer the game was about to begin.
They had randomly selected the teams and Hwayoung was kind of confident her team was going to win since on the other team Donghyun and Joochan already started bickering.
"So what's the plan?", she asked when turning to her teammates.
"We don't have one.", Jangjun said. "Let's just shoot them."
"We're going to loose, are we?", Seungmin whispered to himself as the bell rang signalling the start of the game.
The first game was probably more chaotic than they're mafia play a few days before. Jangjun and Youngtaek yelled at each other and continued shooting the other even though both were already out.
Donghyun and Joochan were arguing so much they just shot each other even though they were on the same team.
The first one who was eliminated was Daeyeol since everyone was happy to be able to tease him.
Surprisingly Sungyoon and Bomin were actually good and were the last one's standing.
After the first round they changed up the teams and played older team vs. younger team. Of course they started betting and the losing team would have to pay for lunch.
Unfortunately for Hwayoung, the 99 liners started bickering AGAIN even before the game started.
"Shut up, you idiots!", she whisper - yelled to not give away their position and slapped the back of their heads. She was quite competitive and on top of that they played for food. "Think about the tasty food we'll have after our win."
"That was the best speech I've ever heard.", Donghyun said sarcastically and wiped away a fake tear.
On the other side of the arena the older team was carefully planning their strategy.
"Okay, so Jangjun and Siyeon, you'll go to the left side and Daeyeol and Seungmin will go to the right one. Youngtaek and I guard the middle.", Sungyoon said and everyone agreed since he was their best player.
"Let's go.", Jangjun said to Siyeon and together they went to their spot to hide. Then the game started. A few seconds later a loud yell could be heard and with a grin Jangjun turned to Siyeon. "Jaehyun's out."
Behind Jangjun Siyeon suddenly saw the light of a laser and pushed him out of the line against a wall. The laser was gone a few moments later and Siyeon relaxed a bit. Just then she realized she still pushed Jangjun against the wall and stepped a bit back.
"Sorry-", she whispered but then Jangjun quickly turned her around so she was now the one pushed against the wall. He pinned her arms to her side and got really close to her. Siyeon's heartbeat was going faster than usual and her mind definitely wasn't on the game anymore. "Jangjun-"
"May I?", he asked almost shy completely different to his confident move just a second ago. Siyeon automatically nodded and saw how he got even closer. Just as she was about to close her eyes, ready for his lips to meet hers, someone yelled close to them and tore them out of their moment.
"There they are!", Joochan screamed totally unaware of what was about to happen. The two separated as if they were hit by a flash and Siyeon exhaled nervously. Meanwhile Joochan already lifted his laser gun but before he could shoot Jangjun had eliminated him.
Thanks to Joochan's yell the others knew they were here so both Jangjun and Siyeon ran around back to back and shot almost everyone of the opposite team. To no one's surprise Jibeom and Donghyun started bickering whose fault it was they lost as soon as they got eliminated.
"We won!", Daeyeol screamed happily as he ran towards Jangjun and Siyeon since he, again, was the first to get eliminated. Their other teammates ran to them as well and soon it became a but group hug.
On the other side the losing team was still bickering. Meanwhile Bomin and Hwayoung looked at each other and rolled their eyes at the same time.
"Pathetic."
Since the losing team had to buy the food the winning one was very happy to go to the next restaurant. The group sat down and had to put together two tables so everyone would fit.
Siyeon had gotten awfully quiet and the only person who noticed, was Hwayoung. Of course she had noticed how often Jangjun glanced at her best friend and couldn't help but wonder what had happened.
"I'll go to the bathroom real quick.", she said and touched her nose confusing the boys. It was their secret sign if one of the girls wanted to talk. Siyeon noticed it and followed her friend excusing herself as well.
"Do you need anything?", she asked as soon as the girls entered the bathroom. Siyeon already searched her bag and pulled out a tampon but Hwayoung stopped her.
"Is anything wrong?", Hwayoung asked worried. Siyeon cursed herself for being so obvious but of course she couldn't lie to her best friend. To be honest she herself wasn't quite sure what exactly happened and why it affected her this much.
"Do you remember when we said no boys trouble this holiday?", Siyeon asked suddenly remembering their first day of this trip. Hwayoung nodded confused.
"Is it boy trouble? Do I have to beat anyone up? Did he call you again?", Hwayoung asked and spit out he as if it was poison. "Or is it girls trouble?"
"Let's say, it's complicated."
"Girl, you're so full of information.", Hwayoung replied making her friend laugh. Siyeon quietly explained everything that happened in the laser tag arena and when she came to the part where Jangjun almost kissed her Hwayoung started screaming.
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. He almost kissed you?"
"Scream it again, I think the Queen of England didn't hear you."
"But isn't that so cute?" Siyeon got quiet again and thought about it. Of course she thought Jangjun was cute and handsome, obviously funny and could make her laugh all the time. But, did she have a crush on him? She was so focused on getting over her ex - boyfriend she didn't even consider this option.
At the same time the boys started wondering why girls would only go to the bathroom with another girl.
"Maybe because they're scared.", Bomin whispered.
"Hermione was trapped inside there by a troll.", Jaehyun said.
"That's probably it. You're a genius.", Donghyun said and started clapping. Meanwhile Daeyeol had noticed how quiet Jangjun was which definitely was very unlike him. Just as he was about to ask what happened a phone started ringing confusing all boys.
"It's Siyeon's.", Daeyeol said and took the phone. "It says 'Idiot'. Huh?"
"Maybe one of her brother's.", Jangjun said now interested. The caller hung up and the boys already thought it was over but then the 'Idiot' called again.
"Apparently it's very important.", Seungmin thought out loud but Jangjun had already snatched the phone and accepted the call despite Daeyeol protesting. The leader really didn't want to invade Siyeon's privacy.
"Hello?", Jangjun said and pushed away Daeyeol with his other hand. The caller was silent and didn't say anything for a while.
"Who is this? Is Siyeon there?"
"Currently not. Should I tell her something?", Jangjun asked but had a bad feeling about this guy.
"She should call me back. But who the hell are you?", the guy said and added in a whisper tone. "Did she already replace me?"
"I'm a close friend of her.", Jangjun replied.
"Good, then tell Siyeon her boyfriend called.", the guy said and hung up leaving Jangjun in shock. The other boys looked at him with curious faces since they only understood his side of the conversation.
Just as he was about to answer the girls came back and this time Siyeon seemed more relaxed and happier. She smiled at Jangjun but when she saw his cold expression her smile disappeared.
"Someone called you.", he said knowing he couldn't bring the word 'boyfriend' over his lips without getting emotional or hurting Siyeon. Now that he knew she had a boyfriend he felt many things at once. Confusion, anger, sadness and mostly hurt. Why didn't she tell them? Why would she allow him to kiss her then? Still his heart started beating faster at the memory from before. Now he was glad Joochan had destroyed their moment.
Siyeon took her phone and when she saw who called her face got as pale as the snow. Her happiness from before was gone and she felt hopeless again. Her hands started shivering and fortunately for her no one noticed. And since Hwayoung thought her friend was happy she didn't notice her sudden mood change.
Just a few hours before Siyeon had been really excited about going sledging today but now as they got the sledges she felt empty. Not even Hwayoung's attempt at making her smile could do anything.
They started splitting into pairs since they thought it would be funnier this way. Luckily Siyeon and Hwayoung shared a sledge.
"You ready?", Hwayoung asked with a huge smile trying to make her friend smile as well but failed. Siyeon nodded and the two of them drove down the snowy hill. They were faster than most of the boys but Youngtaek and Seungmin were the fastest.
Surprisingly Donghyun and Joochan didn't bicker or kill each other while sharing a sledge. Bomin and Daeyeol on the other hand were quite slow since the youngest was scared of the pace and clung onto the leader's arms almost making them fall off.
The track was long and they changed up teams for a few times after waiting for everyone. Jangjun obviously avoided getting paired with Siyeon and it hurt her. Meanwhile Hwayoung and Jibeom shared one sledge and fell off after a few metres laughing out loud.
"Siyeon? I have a spare seat.", Daeyeol offered and Siyeon exhaled relieved someone thought of her. She sat down behind Daeyeol and together they followed the others. Suddenly Daeyeol stopped the sledge and turned around. "Are you okay?"
"I'm totally fine.", Siyeon lied immediately but of course Daeyeol could see when someone wasn't telling the truth. A few minutes before he had asked Jangjun the same question and was lied to as well. He couldn't deny he was hurt by their lies but was also worried about them. He figured something must have happened between them and since Jangjun was usually really happy when Siyeon was around he assumed it wasn't something good. "Look, Siyeon, something is between you and Jangjun. Did you fight?"
"No, I honestly don't know why he avoids me now.", she whispered and fiddled with her fingers. Her breaths got faster as she wondered what she had done wrong. In her whole life she had only been in a relationship once and as you know, it didn't end well so Siyeon was really insecure. When Daeyeol wanted to answer his phone suddenly rang and Siyeon recognized his ring tone as their debut song. She smiled at this. Daeyeol must really love his members.
"We're on our way.", he said and hung up. "The other's are wondering why we are taking so long."
"Then we should go, right?"
"Probably, but please promise me you'll talk to Jangjun.", Daeyeol begged her and held out his pinky. He looked at her with the cutest expression he could make and Siyeon couldn't help but laugh at that. Then she intertwined her pinky with Daeyeol's.
"Promise."
The two joined the others a few hundred metres further who were already waiting. They already paired up to new teams.
"How much did we go already of this track?", Daeyeol asked while a plan already formed in his head.
"Don't know. About a half?", Sungyoon answered confused. Daeyeol looked around and saw that Jangjun was just about to go to Joochan but Daeyeol stopped him.
"I'll share with Joochan now.", he said and wrapped his arms around the younger's waist making him whine. They continued sledging down the track and Daeyeol could feel Jangjun shooting daggers at him. Of course Jangjun figured Daeyeol did this on purpose so he had to share one with Siyeon.
"Are you coming?", Siyeon asked hesitantly who figured out Daeyeol's plan as well. What a traitor, she thought. Jangjun sat down in front of her and they started sledging down the hill together in silence.
Jangjun wanted to get away from Siyeon as fast as possible so he drove faster than before. As a reflex Siyeon put her hands to his sides but Jangjun pushed them away.
"Don't touch me.", he hissed making Siyeon flinch at his cold tone. She took away her hands which were shivering.
"Jangjun, what's wrong?", she asked her voice barely a whisper. Jangjun still heard her and for a second he almost gave in at the sound of her hurt voice.
"Nothing's wrong. I just don't want to be around you now."
Siyeon felt tears in her eyes as soon as he said this and wiped them away quickly glad he couldn't see her. She felt her breath getting faster again but not because of excitement. It was fear.
"Please talk to me. If you don't like me, why would you almost kiss me then?"
At this question Jangjun couldn't help but turn around. The urge to shout at her face to let his emotions out was too big. But as soon as he spotted her tears his eyes widened. He hadn't realized how much he hurt her.
"Siyeon-", he started but didn't get to finish his sentence. The sledge came off the track and they crashed into a tree.
