Jackson Hart
I was laying on the bathroom floor shaking. I'd lost track of time and had no idea what day it was. My mind was foggy and everything seemed blurred to me. I was hungry, but I knew if I ate something I would only throw it up again. I faintly heard somebody knocking on the motel door in the distance and then a crash.
"Jake why aren't you answering the door, when I'm knocking. You're so paying for the part I just broke" Her steps was getting closer.
"Jake?" She called out, but I hadn't got the energy to answer. She finally found me and dropped to her knees beside me.
"Stupid boy, why didn't you tell me you were already wolfsick?"
"Hi Leslie" I whispered and tried to force on a little smile. She put her hand on my forehead.
"You're burning up, I need to get your temperature down" She tried to move me into the bathtub and after a few attempts she succeeded. She turned on the cold water which slowly filled bathtub. I was starting to feel better.
"What day is it?" I asked after regaining some of my strength.
"You don't even know what day it is? Gosh then you're worse shape than I thought. It's Friday and we're going to the carnival with Alexa. You have to break the bond with her soon"
"And I will. The bond isn't sealed, so you have nothing to worry about Leslie. When I'm only bonded to her the worst that can happen is that I'm feeling ill. If the bond was sealed then I could die from the illness"
"Hmf.." She snorted. "I've by the way talked to Caroline and she agreed to be your mate"
"Can we talk about it later? Right now I've got to get through this carnival thing"

When we arrived Alexa and Jeremy were already waiting for os at the entrance. They quickly spotted us. Alexa started waving and Jeremy put his arm around her waste, dragging her closer. There was already a small rage starting to boil inside at the sight of this. I took a deep breath and calmed myself. She belonged with him. Even if I wanted her and needed her, she wasn't mine to keep. She didn't belong in my world.
We said hello and I introduced them to Leslie before we went in. The travelling carnival was big, like really big. It was filled with food stalls, rides, music, performers, and other small stalls. I watched Alexa as she looked around, amazed by the carnival. She was wearing highwaisted blue jeans and a white crop top with laces around the edges. Her long light brown hair was loose and gleaming as the sunshine hit it.
Out of the corner of my eye I could feel Jeremy glaring at me as he noticed me admiring Alexa. I smirked, not on purpose, but because of Jeremy thinking I was a threat. I knew he could make her happy.
"See they have cotton candy!" Alexa bursted out. She grabbed Jeremy's hand and dragged him to the stall.
"I see why you like her so much, she's cute" Leslie laughed.
"Shut it" I hissed, gave her a small playful nudge.
We went over to Alexa and Jeremy at the stall. She had chosen a pink cotton candy that the girl in the stall was making for her.
"Here you go" The girl handed the cotton candy to Alexa. "It will be 6 dollars"
Jeremy fumbled around looking for his wallet. Apparently it wasn't in his jeans or in the pockets of his cardigan. You had got to be kidding me. I pulled a 10 dollar bill out of my pocket and handed it to the girl in the stall.
"Keep the change" I said and winked at her. The girl giggled and accepted the money.
I could feel Alexa starring at me. When I met her gaze, she immediately looked down.
"Thank you Jackson" She muttered and looked down blushing.
Out of the corner of my eye I could see Jeremy scowling at me. I didn't bother me, I only did it to protect Alexa from embarrassed because he couldn't pay.
We tried a few rollercoasters and walked trough the park looking at different stalls. At the end of the park we found the biggest rollercoaster of them all with multiple loops.
"Woaw, can we please go try it Jer?" Alexa begged.
"No way I'm going up there. It's probably old and will fall part any second now"
Alexa looked disappointed but accepted his answer.
"It's okay, I'll go with you" I offered and watched as she lightened up.
"On second thought I'll go too" Jeremy said scowling at me.
"I'm gonna stay here, have fun" Leslie said looking into the crowd, as she'd spotted someone she knew.
There was no line so we went straight in and found three seats. There was two seats in each row, Jeremy sad next to Alexa and I sat down behind them. Jeremy was already pale and looked like he was going to through up. The rollercoaster squeaked and started to move upwards. Alexa looked from Jeremy to me.
"This is gonna be so much fun!" She shrieked right before the rollercoaster started going steep downwards.
When the ride was over Jeremy stumbled out of the wagon running for the nearest toilet. Alexa and I followed behind.
"I feel so bad for dragging him up there, he was so scared. He screamed all the way down" Alexa said remorsefully.
"Wait I thought it was you screaming?" I laughed and she laughed with me. Her long brown hair was messy after the ride and she tried to fix it.
"Don't make me laugh, it's not funny" She said but couldn't help it. "I should probably go check up on him"
I waited for them outside the toilet, trying to locate Leslie. She wasn't hard to find with her waist-long blonde hair. She was talking with some guys she'd met last time we went out. Our eyes met and she motioned that she would come over to me. I shook my head and she stopped. It was clear she wanted to stay with her new friends, so I let her.
Jeremy and Alexa came out of the toilet a few moments later. But Jeremy was still looking rather pale.
"So where to next?" I asked.
"I don't think we should do anymore rollercoasters today" Alexa responded. Her blue eyes rested on Jeremy as she took his hand. He looked down on her, smiled and kissed her forehead. I looked away. Trying to control my breathing.
"Maybe we should go to one of the shooting games, Jeremy is really good at it!"
"Yeah that's a good idea" He smiled down to her.
"Great" I muttered.
We walked around trying to find a shooting game. The sun was slowly starting to set. There couldn't be more than two hours left before the carnival closed. I needed to break the bond for good and soon.
A hand suddenly came out of a tent we went by and drew Alexa in. Jeremy stood there astonished. What the? I flung the tent door open and saw an elderly woman holding Alexa's hand between her own. She was wearing a long purple dress and colourful pearl necklaces. She looked up at Jeremy and I.
"Come in, come in" She waved at us.
"She says that she can predict my future" Alexa marveled.
"Alexa that's not pos.." Before Jeremy could finish the old woman took his hand and forced him over to a chair.
"Sit down" She said firmly and Jeremy sat. He looked with his green eyes at Alexa for help, but she just sat down besides him.
Jeremy and Alexa sat at a round table. The old woman served them tea and told them when they were done drinking it, she would read their future in the tea leaves. I walked around in the tent looking at stones and other artifacts on the shelves. I picked up a light blue stone and turned it in my hand. The surface was smooth all the way around.
"Would you like to join us?" The old woman took my other hand. I met her grey eyes and hesitated.
"I think I'm good" I said and sent her a quick smile. She patted my hand softly as she kept the eyecontact going.
"Suit yourself wolfie" She said in a low voice and let go of my hand.
