you watch a movie cuddled into payton's chest. he rubs your back and talks to you.
P | our flight leaves at 8:30 tomorrow morning.
A | mm
you groan. very tired.
P | are you tired, baby.
he whispers to you.
A | nope.
you turn over.
P | no come back.
he pulls you by your hips back to his lap. he turns over wrapping his arms around your stomach and whispers in your ear.
P | i can't wait for my family to meet you.
you reach back and put your hand on his cheek. he has his face buried in your neck. he lightly kisses it.
A | do you think they'll like me.
P | absolutely.
A | what if they don't.
P | don't stress, audrey.
A | i'm stressing.
P | goofball.
he sits back up.
A | where are you going.
P | i'm just sitting up.
A | ugh.
you flop back down on the couch. he rolls his eyes.
A | UGH.
you say again.
P | what?
he laughs.
A | COME BACK!
P | i'm leaving.
A | nooo
P | yup.
A | noo.
you hear the front door unlock. you peek over. it's your parents coming home.
dad | heyy!
A | hey guys.
mom | what are you guys up to?
P | we made cookies.
mom | really?
P | yeah.
he walks over to the table with her and she grabs one.
mom | that's good!
P | audrey did most of it. i was just in the way.
my mom laughs.
mom | you guys can finish your movie if you want. we'll go upstairs.
A | that's okay. we were getting bored anyways.
you and payton go upstairs and pack your bags.
P | i'm just going to warn you. it a little colder up in north carolina than in florida.
A | i got that.
you laugh.
P | just making sure.
you and payton wake up early the next morning. you get all of your stuff in the backseat of your car. when you and payton are eating breakfast and some teenagers come over to your table.
girl | hey, i don't mean to bother you guys, but name is lacey and these are some of my friends. we just flew down here for vacation and we are such big fans of both of yours.
A | thank you!
P | that's awesome!
lacey | we were wondering if we could get a photo and maybe make a tik tok if that's fine.
P | yeah! of course.
you take photos with them. you make a tik tok with them too.
lacey | thank you guys so much. that meant way more than i can even tell you.
A | no! thank you for supporting us!

you blow them a kiss as you and payton head to your flight.
*time skip to landing in North Carolina*
when you step foot in the airport you get this weird feeling. not a bad weird. a really good weird. like being here is so familiar although you've never been. payton reaches for your hand. you get your bags and walk out of security and see a girl you recognize.
P | hey!
??? | payton!!
he hugs the girl and that's when you realize. that's faith. his sister.
Faith (F) | you must be audrey!
A | right! faith?
F | right on!
she opens her arms for a hug. you jump into it. she's a really nice hugger.
A | you're so much taller than i thought you'd be.
F | really?
A | yeah
you laugh.
P | let's get to the car.
A | right.
you talk to payton and faith the whole way home.
faith is so sweet. you can just tell how nice their family is by their two kids. when you pull up to payton's house you get really nervous. payton opens your car door and reaches out your hand. you grab it and he helps you out.
P | you okay?
you nod.
A | just a little nervous.
you say while grabbing your suitcase out of the back.
P | my mom's gonna love you.
he puts his arms around you pulling you into a hug.
P | now come on. she can't wait to meet you.
you take a deep breath and roll your suitcase up to the door. payton closes the trunk. faith knocks on the front door just to be answered by their mom.
F | hey!
payton's mom | hey!
she lets you all in. you look around at their house it's not huge but it's really nice.
payton's mom | hello audrey! i'm joanne.
A | hey joanne! it's great to finally meet you!
joanne | i'm so glad you could come out for this week.
A | me too. i'm surprised my parents let me.
joanne | i'm glad they did! well, make yourself at home. we don't have a guest room right now. so if you just want to sleep upstairs with payton that's fine. i trust you two.
A | okay! thank you!
joanne | yeah! feel free to talk to me if you need anything.
A | will do.
payton gives his mom a hug.
P | thank you.
she nods as you walk upstairs. payton takes you to his room. you look around and can see all the places he calls you at. it's really weird.
P | is everything okay?
A | yeah! yeah sorry. i was just looking around.
he takes your suitcase from you and rolls it to the end of the bed before falling over bouncing onto it. you smile at him. and he gestures for you to come over. you walk over and he sits up.
P | are you sure you're okay. you seem a little off?
A | yeah. i told you i was nervous payton.
P | no need to be nervous. are you hungry. we can get food or my mom can make something.
A | we can go get something.
he laughs.
P | okay. are you feeling chick fil a
A | absolutely.
he smiles at you and you walk outside to his car.
