This short story takes place in the affluent area of Connecticut's Gold Coast during 2020-2021.
The town of New Canaan is regarded as one of the wealthiest towns in the country with a median household income of $192,428 and a population of 20,233 with 92.1% white or Caucasian and 1.5% black or African American*.
I have taken creative license to invent a fictional world post-October 2020 in the United States.
