"Why do we need to sneak out of the house if we're not doing anything wrong until we sneak onto the subway?" Riley asked Maya and I.
"You think you're ready to just walk by your parents?" Maya asked
"I think I'm ready." She replied with Maya and I looking at her like we didn't believe her.
"Let us see your face as you walk by your parents," I said and we watched as Riley's face to one of panic
"Why are you making that face at us, Riley?" Maya asked her, acting as one of her parents
"Because I'm sneaking out to the subway. Out the window," she says while pointing at the window.
"Let's go" Maya says and her and Riley climb out of the window while I counted down "3,2,1.."
I saw them crawl back into the room while Cory was crawling in front of them. I shook my head as the girls sat down on the bed.
"Here's what I'm thinking. It's not your world yet. It's still my world. Because if it was your world, Maya and Deja would have you on the subway already, thinking you put something over on me. But you didn't. Know how I know? Look at you. You're right here." Cory said before looking over at me.
"Why didn't you go with them?" he questioned as I grinned at him
"I knew where this was going" I told him and he smiled at me.
"How long do I have to live in my father's world?" Riley asked her dad
"Until you make it yours. Riley, do you know what I want more than anything? Go ahead. Make it yours." he told her with his hand on her shoulder.
"I will. And when I do, will you still be there for me?" Riley asked hopefully and mama Topanga walked in
"Right here. We'll be right here." She said smiling at us. The three of us looked at each other before grabbing hands and walking out

We got on the subway when we noticed Riley putting on lip gloss. "Woah, Riley, you don't do lip gloss." Maya said.
"Oh! What I forgot to mention is that I'm completely reinventing myself. I ride the Subway now, I have kiwi lips now, and I'm just as cool as you now!" Riley retorted
Maya looks over Riley's shoulder "Yeah, let's see how cool you can be when you look at him." Maya said pointing behind her.
Riley and I turn around and the boy looked up, smiled at Riley, and then looked over at me.. staring. Riley awkwardly smiles, then turns to Maya and giggles
"Yeah, you're gonna need some lessons. Let me show you everything you need to know about boys and girls." Maya says before walking over to him.
"Hi, I'm Maya. You're really cute. We should hang out sometime. You make me happy. You don't pay enough attention to me. This isn't working out. It's you, not me. We can still be friends, not really." She walks away, I laughed a little at the confused face he made.
"He's available. We just broke up." She told us and Riley looked at her concerned. Poor innocent child..
"Are you okay? Do we need to talk about it?" Riley asked
"You still wanna be like me?" Maya asked
"I want to be exactly like you. I think too much and you don't think at all." She says before noticing something.
"Maya are my eyes not working or is the boy looking at Deja?" Riley asked and Maya looked over and started grinning. Oh lord..
"Your eyes work perfectly fine, he is looking at her." Maya said looking at me
"So what? It doesn't mean anything." I told them but they just smiled at me and i knew what they were going to do wasn't going to be good. Maya pulled my hand off the rail and I landed on the boy's lap. I looked at him and he smiled at me
" Hey.."
"Hi. I'm Lucas."
" Deja.." I said still on his lap and then
Evelyn enters
"Perhaps someone would like to give their seat to someone older."
I smiled at her, shaking my head before getting off of Lucas
"Only you Evelyn" I said and she laughed and sat down next to Lucas, winking me
"You already know honey" she said and I laughed before walking over to Riley and Maya.
"Have fun?" Maya asked and I smacked her arm softly
"Next time, give me a fair warning" I told her and she shook her head
"Then it won't be as fun" she replied back.
"What if this is the only time Deja gets find love in her life?" Riley asked sadly and Maya smirked before removing my hand from the railing again but this time I landed on Evelyn. I smiled at her
"You know, you're very comfortable" I said making her laugh before placing me on Lucas' lap.
"This is for you" she said and Lucas laughed "will we always meet like this?" He asked with his eyes sparkling.
"We'll have to see if the universe wants us to meet again" I said before getting off the subway with the girls.

We made to school and started getting their stuff from their lockers.
"Did you have trouble with the homework?" Riley asked Maya as I grabbed my notebooks from closing my locker, waiting for Maya's response.
"Piece of cake." She said shortly and I looked at her like "IKYFL"
"You didn't do it, did you?" I asked her and she smiled
"I don't even know where my books are."
Riley opens her messenger bag, and hands Maya her books
"Here. And they're heavy."
The bell rings, and we enters the classroom.
"You have to do the homework, Maya. This teacher's insane, a total nut job. I think there's something seriously wrong with him." Riley told her before looking over at Cory, who was our teacher.. yay.. fun..
"Hi, honey." Cory greeted her with a big smile.
"Hi, Daddy." She smiled back at her
"You're late to your father's class." He told her
"Oh, don't worry, Cory, you wrote her a note." I told him giving Maya the note to hand to him. He grabbed the note confused.
"I did?" He questions, looking at the note weirdly
"You did." Riley said as he read the note.
"Riley's late. Deal with it. Oh, you got my signature down pretty good this time." He reads from the note.
"Oh it was easy, you write like a girl." Maya said before we sat down in our seats.
"Okay, let me get back to jamming some learning in your heads, The Civil War." Cory said the to class and Maya called out
"The Civil Bore." Maya said and Cory smiled at her sarcastically
"Thank you, future Mini-Mart employee of the month."
Maya smirked "Would I be making more money than you?"
Cory pauses and then says to the class
"The Civil War! Anybody?" Maya and I smirk at each other and Riley answered
"A war we fought against ourselves."
Cory looked at her shocked "What, you actually studied it?"
"No, I'm actually living in it." She said before smacks her head on her desk.
Farkle yells, asking "People, people, are we here to learn or not?"
Cory asked "What do you mean, Farkle?"
"I've been in love with Riley since the first grade. But I'm also equally in love with Maya and Deja. Some might say the great mystery of the universe is who's gonna be the first Mrs. Farkle."He said smirking at us.
"Not happening Farkle" I told him as Maya turns around
"You don't want this." She says, and he smiled
"Bring it on." He says
" I always thought that he'd wind up with back-of-the-class Brenda." Riley says and everyone turns around as Brenda waves and I smiled at her
Farkle looked disgusted "Yuck!"
Cory informed us "Actually, the great mystery of the universe is how you can love two women the same who couldn't possibly be more different."
"We're not so different." Riley said.
Farkle raises his hand and says to Cory "May I overstep my bounds, sir?"
"You always do." Cory said, switching places with Farkle
Farkle flips over the name tag on Cory's desk so it says "Farkle" instead of "Mr. Matthews" and Farkle says to Cory's class
"Riley, is the sun. Warm and bright and lights up my whole day. Maya, is the night. Dark and mysterious. And the night has always been a mystery to me. Because I go to bed at 7:30. Deja is the moon, more beautiful than all the stars in the sky. How can I love these three different women? How can I not? Thank you, I am Farkle!" He says before he bowed and sat at his desk.
Cory goes back to desk in the front "So, we were indeed trying to find out who we were, as a people. Who am I? What should I be? History shows that bad things happen when you don't know who you are."
Lucas enters in the classroom and we made eye contact with him before he looked over at Cory
"Who are you? I don't know who you are." He asked and Riley whispers to Maya and I "Subway boy!"
Lucas says to Cory while handing Cory a note
"I'm Lucas Friar, from Austin, Texas."
"Oh. New student, Mr. Friar?" He asked while taking the note.
"Yes, sir." He answers
"Great. You're just in time for today's assignment. Have a seat." Cory told him and Lucas sits in the seat behind me. Riley looks at Lucas while hitting my arm.
"Okay, so we..." Cory starts before walks to Riley, and turns her head forward "So, I'd like you guys to open your books to page 48. Now, I'd like you to turn to page 1. Now, I'd like you to read from page 1 to 48."
Everyone groans except for Farkle and Lucas.
"Oh, too bad on you. Okay, so for tonight's assignment, I'd like you to write me a three page essay on anything. Anything at all, that you guys believe in so strongly, you fight for it." He says and Maya stands up.
"That. I'd fight for no homework. I come here every day; why can't you teach me everything I need to know while I'm here." Maya says While Riley yells out "Woo" and looks at Cory and says to him "Not woo!"
Maya continues "He gets our days, let's take back our nights. No homework, more freedom! Who's with me? No homework, more freedom! No homework, more freedom! No homework, more freedom!" She yells out as the class joins in with her chant.
She whispers to Riley "This is it, kid. You wanna be like me? Stand up." She says before starts chanting "No homework, more freedom! No homework, more freedom! No homework, more freedom!"
I was really hoping Riley would act like herself and get Maya out of this before it becomes a bigger mess.
"What are you doing?" Cory asked Riley and she stood saying
"I'm making a choice about who I want to be, about whose world I want it to be." I just shook my head at her.
"Riley, I know you. You know exactly who you are." Cory says
"Then who am I, Dad?" Riley asked
"You're just like me." He said smiling, thinking it was going to make Riley not join the rest of the class but he was sadly mistaken.
"Oh, yeah? Would you do this?" She starts chanting "No homework, more freedom! No homework, more freedom!"
She looks at Farkle "Farkle, are you with us or not? No homework, more freedom! No homework, more freedom!" Farkle looked confused on what to do.
"My education? Or my women? My education? Or my women? My education? Or my women?" He gets dazed and says to Cory "Oh, it's happening again, sir." And he faints. I looked back to Lucas who smiled at me.
"This ever happen in Texas?" I asked him and he chuckled, shaking his head.
"Sadly no, I think it would've been too much for me though.." he said and I laughed, silently agreeing with him.
"So Deja.. right?" He asked and I nodded. "I was wondering if I could get your number..?" I looked at him shocked
"Um.. Yeah of course. Give me your phone, I'll put my number in" I said and he hands me his phone and I put my contact name as "🎶Precious 🎶" before handing it back to him. He looked at the name with his eyebrows raised.
"Precious?"
"It's my middle name.." I told him shyly playing with my flannel.
"It's beautiful.." he said looking into my eyes
"Thank you.." I said back and we didn't even notice that Cory was still in the room and watching the scene with a smile...
"The next Cory and Topanga huh..?"

We were sitting down at lunch when we noticed Lucas looking for somewhere to sit.
"Aww, look at him looking for a place to fit in." Maya says
Riley adds "You think he'll sit with us?"
Maya slides over so there's a chair between her and me but Farkle sits in the chair between Maya and Riley and says to them "Ladies."
Me, Maya and Riley in unison "Farkle."
"Interesting lunch line dilemma." He starts
"Sloppy joe?" he looks at Maya
"chicken pot pie?" He looks at Riley
"Cheeseburger?" He looks at me
And then he repeats it and Maya says
"Is that all you got?"
"That's it! Same time tomorrow!" Farkle says before walking out.
"There he is! Invite him to sit down" Maya tells me and Riley moves to the seat next to Maya so there was an empty seat next to me.
"Hey Lucas! Come sit with us!" I called out to him and he sat down next to me.
"Hey back." Lucas says and Riley pauses
"You're sitting here." Lucas looks at her and then at me
"Is that okay?" He asked and I nodded
"Can you excuse us for just one sec?" She says and turns to Maya and they scream for a split second. Lucas and I looked at them amused and then Cory enters and says to Lucas "How ya doing?"
"Dad, you have a choice here. You can either understand that this is just a boy talking to Deja in the cafeteria..." Riley started but Cory cuts her off
"I'm gonna do whatever you say next." I groaned at him
" this is literally so innocent Cory!"
"Honey, fathers figures don't see anything as innocent. We see it as...what's the opposite of innocent?" He asked as I pointed at Maya who raised her hand "Right here!"
I pleaded to him "Please don't embarrass me."
"I'm just gonna talk to Mr. Friar about geography." He claimed and says to Lucas
"You know, I've been to a lot of places. Never been to Texas, though. What part of Texas is the closest to Mexico?" He asked Lucas
"That'd be El Paso, sir." Lucas answers him and Cory starts dragging him out of the cafeteria after saying "Great! Let's go right now!" Lucas waves at me and I laughed waving back.
"So, did you guys do the homework?" Riley asked as we got up from the table.
"Yup" I said while Maya said "No, I didn't do the homework. The question on everybody's kiwi lips is, did you do the homework?"
"No, I'm one of the founding members of the Homework Rebellion. You think I did my homework?" Riley lied
"I think you did mine, too. And just in case Deja's as well" Maya said and Rilsy smiled
"I did. I did and I really liked it." she said
"Riley, don't save me. You too Deja, I know you. " Maya said, I shook my head. Maya should know by now that I'll be there to save her whether she likes it or not.
"What?" Riley asked her confused and Maya said
"Let me be me."
Farkle walks by and Maya says to him "Oh. You got three desserts?"
"Angel's food cake..." "Devil's food cake..." " And Cheesecake. Let me guess who's who."
Farkle says "Hey, Farkle's just hungry. Not everything is about you."

I sat down at my desk and turned to Lucas
"How was your trip to El Paso" I asked him with a grin, making him laugh sarcastically
"Ha ha very funny"
"well I'm glad you're back.. even though you never texted me" I told him sheepishly
"I know.. I'm still unpacking but I'll text you tonight. Promise." He reassured me and Cory approaches us
"Hi. Apparently you have a better sense of direction than I anticipated" he says as I turn back and puts my hands on my head, and Cory does the "I'm watching you" signal.
"You are a really good-looking guy" I look back at him like he was crazy and he pauses and says to the class
"Okay. So, today we're gonna find out if anybody here believes in something so strongly, they'd fight for it." And looks to Maya
"Maya."
"Yes, sir."
"Present your homework." Cory said
"Can't do that, sir." She told him
"Why not?" He asked her
"Didn't do my homework, sir." Maya said as I facepalmed
"Why not?" Did he really forget what happened with the whole rebellion thing?
"That's what I'm fighting against, sir." Maya replied and Farkle said
"Oh, this could go on for a while." Farkle puts on a sleep mask "Farkle Farkle Farkle Farkle. Farkle Farkle Farkle Farkle."
"I didn't do my homework, either." Riley told Cory and I banged my head against my desk
"Oh, really?" Cory asked
"Yeah. We're the same, now. I don't believe in homework." Riley told him and I shook my head
"Riley? That doesn't make you the same as Maya at all." I told her, hoping she would get some common sense back into her brain. And then Maya raises her hand
"I have something to say." She says, making Cory shocked while I knew better and knew she was planning something.
"Wow, I don't know what to do, I've never seen this before. The floor's yours, Ms. Hart." He told her
Maya stands up and says to Farkle "Get up, Farkle." She pulls on his sleep mask "You're gonna wanna be awake for this."
Farkle stands up and asked "Is it our honeymoon?"
"No, you missed that. Now it's time to hand in our essays." She told him and he got excited.
"Oh! Farkle goes first, Farkle always goes first!" He yells out before running out of the room.
"Alright, everybody who did their homework, put it on your desk." She says and starts collecting.
"Maya don't do anything crazy please.. you're better than this.." I told her and she smiled at me "it's okay Dee.."
"Careful there, Ms. Hart." Cory warned and Riley says to Maya
"Are you sure about this?" "I got this." "Okay"
Farkle enters with an extravagant project and says to the class
"The branding of Atlanta led to the end of the Civil War, and of peace. I believe that peace is worth fighting for." Maya takes a sparkler off of his project and Farkle says to her "Hey, that's a pivotal part of my diorama!" Maya takes another sparkler "And there goes Virginia." I stood just in case I had to stop Maya from doing something she might regret.
"The burning of the homework led to the end of the Homework Rebellion, because there was no more homework." Maya stands on a chair, about to burn the homework with the sparklers.
"Maya No!" I yelled out to her, getting closer so I could grab the sparklers from her.
Cory takes the homework from Maya "Alright, alright. That's far enough, Maya. I get it." Cory says to her
Maya chanting with the class "No homework, more freedom!" I reached to grab one of the sparklers and it felt on my arm, burning me "ah!" I yelled out while Cory rushed over to me "Deja! Are you okay?" He asked me while everyone looked at me worried. The fire from the other sparkler touches the sprinklers and it set them off, then the fire alarm rings "Okay, so those work." Maya says as Lucas places his jacket over the two of us as I held my arm. Everybody flees the classroom
"Why didn't you stop your friend? Deja tried to stop her!" Lucas asked Riley
"That's not what I do anymore!" She yelled back
"You're better than that!" He told her
"I'm just letting her be her." She said
"And look what happened! Deja got hurt." Lucas said before taking me out of the room and to the nurse. The nurse cleaned it before applying a cream to it and wrapped it. She told me to change the bandage every few hours. I thanked her and I left with Lucas.
"Lucas you didn't have to bring me to the nurse. I could've went on my own. And it wasn't that serious." I told her running my hand through my damp hair. He smiled at me
"I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You know what you did was stupid right?" He told me and I nodded
"Yeah I know but I just didn't want her to go too far but I was too late." I told him as we walked back to the classroom to get our stuff.
"Well I think she'll appreciate you trying to protect her. But I don't think you should let yourself get hurt in the process" He said to me
"Well I'll protect my friends or family, even if it gets me into trouble.." I said biting my lip and Lucas looked at me like he understood me. We walked to the classroom when we saw Cory and the girls by the lockers. They heard us walking towards them and the girls ran over and hugged me, making me laugh before hugging them back.
"I'm so sorry Dee.. I never meant to hurt you.." Maya said and I smiled at her
"Maya.. it's okay it didn't hurt that bad." I reassured her
"Thank you Mr. Friar for taking her to the nurse.." Cory thanked Lucas, making him smile and nod
"It was no problem Sir" Lucas said before waving me goodbye and left with his stuff.
▿ ▿ ▿ (I skipped the others parts bc this chapter is getting little bit too long)
"Friends, family, and all you other subterranean mole people. We're here today to celebrate Riley being Riley. Now, some may call this a New York City Subway pass." Cory says to Riley
"But you, Riley, can consider this a ticket to the world."
Riley asked "You think I'm ready?"
"You showed us you are." Topanga told her
"Riley, I've already met the world. It's your turn." Cory said and I smiled at the scene. Riley smiles, then takes the card. I was standing in between Lucas and Farkle when Lucas says
"Hey, this isn't so different from Texas. Look, there's a pony." I snickered as Farkle said "That's a rat" Lucas looked so shocked and looked at me confirmation and I nodded, snorting cracking up.
Gretchen and her friend walk by and Farkle says to them
"Ladies." "Farkle."
I walked over to the girls and I asked Riley "So, where do you wanna go?"
"Don't know. Big world." Riley asked
Maya asked "Ours now?" We smiled at each other
"Yeah, but my dad did say I have to be home by five." She says and I pulled out a note from my back pocket.
"Don't worry. He wrote you a note"I said handing her a note as we walk into the Subway
"Next stop, Astor Place, 14th Street, and the world."
