It's friday morning and the girls and I sit at the table drinking coffee and eating breakfast.
The last two weeks have been pretty busy since we have a gig this saturday.
All I've been doing is practicing and learning for school.
"Maiko, we gotta hurry or we'll miss the bus again."
"Calm down we just need to brush our teeth and then we are good to go."
"You said the same thing yesterday and what happened hm?"
"We missed the bus..."
I mumble with a hint of shame.
"Exactly."
I stand up and put the dishes in the dishwasher.
We race up the stairs to the bathroom, brush our teeth, say good bye to Kozakura and make our way to the busstop.
We're just in time and sit down at our usual seats in the back.
"What happened with you and that Kita guy? I haven't heard of him in a while."
She scratches her neck in an uncomfortable manner.
"Let me guess. The same thing as always?"
"If you mean that I got bored of him and just straight up ghosted him then yes."
"God! You're such an ass. That poor guy."
I shake my head laughing.
"Hey! No need to be mean! Subject change- what's with you and Suna?"
"Not much. We text now and then but nothing special. He's pretty chill though."
"Is that so?"
"Yes it is."
"He kinda reminds me of you.
Why don't you invite him to the gig?"
"Dunno. Didn't really think about it but I could do that."
The bus stops screeching and we get out.

I look out of the window waiting for this class to finally be over.
I glance at my phone and see that Maiko texted me.
Maiko:
sup
Me:
not much
bored asf
wbu?
Maiko:
same
do u wanna come to my gig tmrw?
Me:
yes ofc
Maiko:
:)
we'll pick u up at 8
address?
Me:
xxstreet, 7
see you tmrw then
Maiko:
yea see u
I put my phone back in my pocket and smile to myself.
Finally the bell rings and the twins and I walk to volleyball practice together.

I finish off my eyeliner and check myself in the mirror.
After that I pick up my bass and tune it one last time.
Every time we play on stage I double check everything possible.
You never know what's going to happen or what opportunities you get when you play live.
Maybe there's a good producer or someone important and t h e n I fuck up.
I would cry to be honest.
That's why I always feel extremely anxious before shows but as soon as I start singing I forget everything around me and how I feel.
I never told anyone about the anxiety part though.
It just seems wrong for me to feel like that since I always appear confident and strong.
The door to my room opens and Masumi's head peaks in.
"Are you ready?"
I nod and she smiles at me reassuring and leaves again.
I let out a big sigh and take a last look in the mirror again.
My outfit choice for tonight consists of my beloved demonias, a short skirt,leg warmers, ripped tights, a black oversize t-shirt and lots of matching silver jewellery and a choker.
"Maikooo!"
Kozakura shouts up the stairs.
Time to go then.
I pick up my bass, go downstairs and put on my jacket.
"You've got the address from Suna?"
Kozakura glances at me from the drivers seat.
"Yeah, let me type it in."
She passes her phone to me in the back.
After a few minutes we get there and Suna is already waiting outside.
He's dressed like usual in a skaterboyish style.

"Hello everyone!"
I greet as I sit down on the backseat next to Maiko.
They all greet back and Kozakura speeds down the street.
"We still need to pick up, Koichi."
Masumi reminds us and Kozakura grunts something in reply.
"God, they better be ready cause else we're going to be late."
Maiko mumbles.
"Who's Koichi?"
"Our second guitarist and you know synthesiser stuff. And uh they're enby."
Maiko explains lazily and I nod.
Then we're silent for a while.
"Yo, Kura! Hand me the aux!"
Kozakura does as told and Maiko picks out some music.
The song starts and Masumi turns around with an excited expression and "sings" along.
"Come on people now~ everybody get together and love one another right now~ I love that song!"
She turns up the volume.
Maiko smiles lightly.
"Isn't this nirvana?"
I ask Maiko and she nods.
"Territorial pissings. Do you like Nirvana?"
"Yeah but I mostly just listen to more chill music."
Maiko was just about to answer when she gets cut off by Kozakura hitting the brakes.
We all get fling forward a bit.
Someone opens the door next to where Maiko sits.
"Sup people!"
That someone has short, black hair and I assume them to be Koichi.
Maiko scoots to the middle seat and Koichi jumps in.
As soon as the door closes Kozakura steps on the gas again not waisting as single second.
"You're Suna?"
They lean forward to get a better look at me.
"And you're Koichi?"
They nod and chuckle.
"Hayami! Put on slipknot pleeaaseee."
Koichi makes puppy eyes.
"Not in my car! Kurt's the only boy I respect and who's music I listen to!"
Maiko and Masumi laugh while Koichi crosses their arms and pouts.
I hear Maiko let out a big sigh and look over to her.
"Are you okay?"
She nods.
"Just a little tired and nervous."
She closes her eyes and leans her head on my shoulder.
"Is it okay if I rest here until we get to the place?"
"Yeah."
