i said the cuts were from a cat
i could've said unicorn
it would make no difference
since nobody ever really listened
and both would be lies
it's easier for them to go along
to keep an innocent picture
of the smiles and lies
than face the harsh truths
tired of lying
about my smile and my scars
i named my blade cat
and the next one unicorn
until i needed a pet no longer
now i cannot lie
now i can be at peace
