Selena fluttered her eyes open to see she was in a room she never saw before, she quickly sat up and jumped off of the bed and ran downstairs only to bump onto a hard chest causing her to stumble back and Klaus caught her before she fell
"Careful, love" he spoke and she looked up and stepped back
"How- Where's Theo and what am I doing here?" She asked him frantically "I was in the woods. You were there, what happened next?"
"Just breath, little wolf"
"How did I get here?" She asked after taking a deep breath
"You exhausted yourself too much yesterday" he explained and she nodded "You were very angry... do you wanna talk about?"
"I'm fine" she said and he raised his eyebrow "How did you even find me?"
"One of my hybrids saw you" he admitted and she gave him a look causing him to smile sheepishly
"Seriously Klaus? Didn't we already have this conversation? I have a life, I need privacy" She said and he shrugged innocently
"You died" he stated and she sighed "I was worried about you"
"But you saved me. Somehow you always do... I'm fine now, Mikeal is dead. I'm not in danger" she said softly and he nodded not wanting to push her not until she felt comfortable
"Your Aunt called" he informed her and she facepalmed herself "Don't worry I told her what happened and she said it was okay and she sent you these dress"
"So you're trying to be in my aunt's good side?" She teased and he chuckled "Anyways thank you for letting me stay but I have to go. It's Caroline's birthday"
"About Chicago" he spoke quickly when she was about to leave making her stop closing her eyes briefly "I shouldn't have treated you the way I did"
"Listen... I don't wanna talk about it" she told him as she felt her throat tighten whenever she thought about it "It's too much"
"I'm... I'm sorry, Selena" he apologized sincerely and she remained silent
"Just let it go, okay?" She demanded with a heavy look
"Do you need a ride?" He asked and she shook her head
"No it's okay. I need some fresh air" she said and he nodded in understanding "See ya"

After she took a quick shower and changed, she made her way to the Forbes house. She knocked and Liz opened tge door with a greeting smile "Morning Aunt Liz"
"Morning, Leenie" she hugged her "She's still asleep"
"I will wake her up" Selena said and made her way to Caroline's room, she opened the door quietly to see that the blonde was awake
"Happy birthday" She said softly and Caroline smiled weakly as Liz entered as well
"Happy birthday sweetheart" she told her kissing her forehead as they put tge breakfast in her bed
"I have to go. I'll leave you two alone"Liz said and left the two bestfriends
"Something is bothering you" Selena observed and Caroline waved her off
"It's nothing"
"Care, we've been bestfriends since what? Diapers days?" Selena stated and Caroline sighed in frustration
"I'm just not feeling my birthday this year" Caroline said and Selena laid down beside her and hugged her "Distract me"
"So... I spent yesterday with Klaus" Selena blurted out and Caroline sat up straight causing the brunette to laugh
"Where? Why? Did you kiss?" She asked quickly causing Selena to chuckle
"You wish. I kind of passed out for using a lot of power. He was there and helped me to stop... and he brought me to his home" She explained and Caroline pouted
"So no kiss?" She asked and Selena blushed "You kissed!"
"Care be quiet" Selena hushed her "We did kiss twice... in summer but not now"
"Oh my! How did it feel?"
"Are we seriously having this conversation in your birthday?" She asked in disbelief "It's just so confusing. I mean I like him a lot I do but..."
"But what?"
"I don't know... Everyone hates him, you should hate him, he turned Tyler into one of his hybrids minions" She said and Caroline held her hand
"Look, Leenie. You are my bestfriend and I love you... do you think I'll trade your hapiness for some revenge who's not even worth it?"
"We'll be late for school" Selena said and Caroline sighed
"Are you seriously going to avoid this?"
"I'm not avoiding it... I'll wait and see what will happen"
"You go. I'll be right behind you" Caroline told her and she nodded as she kissed her forehead before walking away

Selena entered the school to see Bonnie, Elena and Matt decorating Caroline's locker only to gear her sister say "I know guys but it's not safe for him here anymore. Leaving will give him a better life"
"Are you that delusional Elena?" Selena asked her and she turned around "The supernatural creatures are everywhere in the world, he's not safe out there alone. He needs his family but you clearly won't understand. Since you had Jenna believe it was his decision and I agreed to it... family don't lie"
"Leenie..."
"I'm late for class" Selena said walking away from them
"She's right, you know?" Bonnie told her

"SURPRISE!" Selena, Bonnie, Elena and Matt shouted as the jumped out from the couch, each with party hats and Balloons in their hands
"Happy birthday" Matt told her
"What are you guys doing here?" Caroline smiled at her friends in shock
"Well, you blew off school and missed our work of art so..." Elena said taking off her tiara, placing it on Caroline's head
"Change into warmer clothes, we are going to the falls. S'mores campfire" Bonnie told her with a bright smile in her face
"Cake and cookies like when we were little" Selena added with a bright smile
"Well, except for tequila" Matt joked
"Uh thanks guys, really but I'm just not feeling my birthday this year" Caroline said and they frowned in confusion
"I'm sorry what? You've already claimed your birthday as everyone's favourite day in the year" Bonnie stated and Selena nodded
"Yeah, and now it's just a reminder that technically I'm dead. Look I didn't even like 17" Caroline explained and Selena looked at her sadly
"That's not-" Selena began
"And the only point of being 17 is to get to 18. It's a filler year, I'm stuck in filler year" Caroline stated
"You're not stuck Caroline" Elena tried to reason with them
"Yeah I am but it's okay. You know, it's all good, I'll be fine. But I just need some time to wallow it" Caroline causing her friends to share a concerned look
"Okay, well I think I have another idea" Elena smirked

"This is creepy. Even for us" Bonnie said as they stepped into the the old fell's crypt
"No. Caroline is right... technically she's dead. Sorry" Elena turned to Caroline "But you don't need a birthday. You need a funeral, you need to say goodbye to your old life, so that you can move on with your new one"
"Okay" Caroline said taking off the birthday tiara "Here lies Caroline Forbes"
"Cheerleaders. Co Miss Mystic falls. Third grade hopscotch champion" Elena smiled causing Caroline to chuckle
"Friends. Daughters. Over achievers" Bonnie said with a smile
"Mean girl, sometimes. No offense" Matt joked causing the blonde to wave him off
"Ah! None taken" Caroline and Selena giggled
"My bestfriend who always was there for me and everyone, my moral support and partner in crime" Selena added with a smile
"She was seventeen and she had a really good life. So rest in peace so that you can move on forward" Elena said and opened the box that revealed the cake "It's what you need. It's what we all really need" she smiled "Amen or cheers or whatever"
"Bonnie? Would you do the honor or shall I?" Bonnie closed her eyes lightning the candles with her magic
"Well I was impressed" Selena laughed softly
"Make a wish" Selena said and Caroline closed her eyes and blew the candles
"Yay" Selena cheered hugging her bestfriend

"Uh ah! I need it more than you do" Elena snatched the bottle from Matt causing Selena to scoff in annoyance
"Of course you do" Selena whispered sarcastically
"Caroline what are you doing?" Elena asked the blonde ignoring her sister
"Hmm. Uh nothing" Caroline denied and Selena chuckled
"You are a bad liar and even worse one when you're drunk" Selena pointed out with a teasing smile
"I might have texted Tyler" Caroline muttered sheepishly causing the doppelganger to groan
"Caroline!"
"What? I'm delicate" Caroline defended and Selena laughed
"It's okay" Selena assured her
"Not it's not okay, Leenie. He's sired to Klaus remember? You saw what happened to Jeremy. He tried to kill him and now you're defending him" Elena retorted in disbelief "He tried to kill me"
"Can we like move on? You can't keep reminding me everytime" Selena rolled her eyes in annoyance "It's annoying really"
"Give them a break. You can't control what everyone does all the time" Bonnie snapped coldly and Selena looked at the floor with a small smile
"Wow" Elena said shocked and Selena snorted quietly
"Ouch Bon" Matt remarked and Selena sighed
"I'm sorry, Caroline. I know it's your birthday or funeral or whatever. But I just feel it's really wrong that you compelled Jeremy to leave town" Bonnie apologised and Selena nodded in agreement
"That wasn't your decision to make" Selena stated angrily
"I'm doing it to protect him" Elena defended herself "Bonnie I want to give him a chance at a half way normal life"
"He should be able to choose how he wants to live it. You're taking his choices away" Bonnie stated
"You mean like how my sister is defending Klaus" Elena scoffed and Selena looked at her in disbelief
"You're not actually serious?" She snapped "We were talking about Jeremy right? Or were you just waiting for the opportunity to throw that at me?"
"He's terrorising everyone in this town. He's trying to kill me and you're sticking up with him? You couldn't be anymore selfish" Elena spat and her sister scoffed "But of course since he's showing a little interest to you. You fall for him... Oh wait! He's your soulmate you can't help it. Come on Selena you're smarter than that, he just want to get into your pants"
"Why are you saying this to me?" Selena asked her sister slightly hurt
"Or are you just doing this just to get back at me. Just like what you used to do the last couple of years?" Elena asked and Selena scoffed "We all know he's your plaything for a month and then you're into someone else"
"Are you calling me a slut?" Selena asked slightly hurt and offended
"Leenie I didn't mean-"
"Not everything is about you, Elena" Selena retorted back "If I wanted to get back at you like old times. I would've gone to Stefan not Klaus"
"I just want to protect you from him"
"I don't want your protection" Selena retorted back harshly
"But-"
"You better don't get me started Elena because it's not gonna end well" Selena spat with a fiery glare "I don't want to ruin my bestfriend's birthday"
"You can't tell him" Elena pleaded them both
"Why? Are you gonna compel me too?" Bonnie fired back coldly causing Selena to smile proudly
"Selena, don't tell him please" she pleaded once again and Selena remained silent "Selena!"
"You do realise last time you did this. It ended badly?" She asked her "If he asks me something I'm not gonna lie about it"
"You know. You guys are ruining a perfectly good funeral" Matt pipped in
"I'm sorry I'm just gonna sleep it off" Bonnie turned to the blonde before leaving the crypt "Happy birthday"

After a an awkward silence, Tyler stepped into the crypt causing them all to turn towards him "Sorry didn't mean to crash the party" Tyler said breaking their silence
"So, don't" Matt snapped coldly
"No it's uh it's okay" Caroline said as she turned to face him with a smile "Hi"
"Hey. Can I talk to you for a sec? It's kind of important" Tyler told Caroline before turning to Selena "Hey Leenie"
Selena glared at him coldly even though she couldn't really blame him, he was sired to Klaus and he had no other option as he and Caroline stepped out of the crypt
"Matt? Are you okay?" Selena asked the blue eyed human when he took another shot of tequila
"Yeah. I want to her to be happy you know? It's what I want for all of you guys in the middle of this crazy life you got stuck living in" He explained to the doppelganger and the Enchantress
"Is that how you see it?" Elena asked him "That we're stuck?"
"I'd say it's attached itself" he nodded "To all of you pretty tight, yeah"
"Bonnie's right" Elena said with a guilty expression "I had no buisness messing onto Jeremy's head. He's in danger here. I just don't know what else to do. I can't lose anyone else I love... I'm so sorry Lennie... I didn't mean any to say any of what I said earlier"
"I'm your sister Elena. I can't stay forever mad at you no matter what. But what you did and said really hurt me... you should have let him choose, he's not twelve years old anymore" Selena said and Elena nodded "And lying to Jenna again was a low move. She's our guardian and family"
"I know and I'm still sorry"
"Well... I forgive you"
"Care is late" Selena observed as she looked around anxiously "Let's get her back before something happens"

"Caroline!" Selena called "Caroline where are you? I'm drunk and I think I'll fall..."
"Great we've been abandoned" Elena said as she, Matt and Selena left the crypt looking for Caroline
"Okay, we're going on search party. I don't trust that she won't get back together with him" Elena said
"Caroline! Hell Care, where are you? " Selena asked rhetorically as she stopped walking "I can't believe I drunk that much and I'm still walking"
"I should have stopped you" Matt said "We all know a hungover Selena"
"Yeah well it's a birthday party! Did you really think I'll drink a lemonade" she fired back and he opened his mouth to say something but Elena spoke up first
"Seriously guys?"
"Caroline" Matt called, laughing at Selena who almost fell
"Come on, Caroline we don't have any more drinks" Elena shouted
"Matt is scared of the Fell ghosts. I'm scared too" Selena sang slightly drunk
All of sudden Matt was thrown into a wall falling unconscious as Elena and Selena mouths were covered by Stefan's hands before speeding them away. Stefan locked Selena in the back seat of his car as he began to drive them away
"What are you doing Stefan?" Elena asked fear flooding both of the girls as he drove recklessly
"Slow down please" Selena pleaded fearfully as he ignored both girls smirking when the doppelganger's phone start ringing
"Hello Damon! She's little busy right now" Stefan answered
"Why the hell do you have Elena's phone?" Damon asked his brother as he was with Theo
"I'm making my next move. Let me ask you something, what will Klaus do if he can't make any more hybrids" Stefan asked as the doppelganger and Selena's eyes widened in shock
"What?" They both asked in unison
"Selena?" Theo asked over the phone fearfully "If anything happens to her, Stefan. Trusr me you won't have to fear Klaus!"
"Do you have a death wish Stefan?" Damon hissed causing Stefan to roll his eyes "Klaus will rip your heart out of your chest and feed it to you for messing with her"
Stefan sighed in annoyance and threw Elena's phone out of the window
"Stefan let us out. I'm-" Selena screamed as the doppelganger tried to open the door frantically
"What are you doing Stefan? Let us out of the car! Let us out" Elena shouted
"Okay fine you got us. So what's your big plan? What's the big move you're making? Because Klaus is ten step ahead as usual" Selena stated angrily
"Just shut up for once Selena! I took Klaus's family to make him suffer. I'm not gonna let him make a new one" Stefan answered making the two girls scoff
"So, what are you going to do? Lock me in a cave and keep me hostage?" Elena asked sarcastically
"Maybe... Maybe I'll turn you into a vampire" Stefan said as he faced the doppelganger
"Okay I take back what I said ten seconds ago" Selena's face twisted in shock and fear as Elena yelled in fear
"Stop the car! Stefan"
"Stefan stop the fucking car I can't breath!" Selena told him as she struggled to breath and Stefan ignored her dialing Klaus's number
"Stefan how nice to hear your voice" Klaus answered sarcastically as Stefan put the phone in speaker mode
"Tell your hybrids to get out of town" Stefan demanded causing Klaus to chuckle
"Well, that's not going to happen until I get my coffins back" Klaus said
"Okay well. I'm gonna drive your blood source and precious soulmate off of wickery bridge" Stefan stated as Selena was having a panic attack. Tears gathering in her eyes as her breathing was uneven
"I don't believe you Stefan, you won't kill them" Klaus smirked not believing the young vampire as Stefan bit into his wrist forcing Elena to drink his blood
"No! No No No what are you doing?" Elena yelled and Selena closed her eyes as she tried not to lose control
"Stefan stop!" She whispered breathlessly
"What's going on?" Klaus asked concerned fearing for his soulmate life when he heard the fear in her voice
"Well I just fed Elena my blood. No more hybrids if she's a vampire. As for your little mate... she'll die and never come back" Stefan challenged the hybrid smugly
"You won't do it" Klaus sneered angrily
"Really? Try me. Because your coffins are next to go. Say goodbye to your family and little wolf, Klaus" Stefan started to drive more faster causing Selena scream
"Stop the car she's having a panic attack" Elena demanded as she tried to help her sister "Stefan!"
"Fine. I'll send them away. You win" Klaus yelled giving in when he heard Selena was breathing heavily
"Stefan! Stop" Elena screamed and Selena didn't open her eyes yet
"Stop the car Stefan!" Klaus snarled who was getting angrier by the second as the younger Salvatore slam on the brakes and the Original hybrid hung up angrily as soon as he knew she wasn't in danger anymore
Elena jumped out of the car and quickly opened the door for her sister and helped her get out
"Get back in the car" Stefan told them when they walked away and Selena was trying to breath steadily
"Stay away from us" Elena yelled as the two continued to walk away from him as Selena ran a hand through her hair
"Please get back in the car" He pleaded causing Selena to shot him a murderous glare
"How could you? My parents died going over this bridge... I almost died! You knew that you were the one who saved me... you almost killed Selena!" Elena screamed tears streaming down her face and Selena hugged her sister tightly
"Look he had to believe that I would do it. All right? Your fear sold it" Stefan explained remorsefully
"And what if he hadn't?" Selena asked weakly
"He did" Stefan replied
"Well, what if he hadn't" She screamed in anger
"He did Selena!" The vampire screamed back "He backed down! He has a weakness, if I know his weakness I can destroy him"
"You say Klaus is a remorseless monster but what you did to us tonight just proved you're just bad as him even worse but at least he never jeopardized my life for some stupid revenge" Selena snapped coldly but her eyes were filled with fire
When she pulled out her phone from her pocket she saw multiple calls from her brother and Matt "Matt what is it?" She asked him
"Caroline... was bitten by Tyler" he told her
"I'm on my way" She said "I'll be there as soon as I can"

"Aren't you like billion or something?" Selena heard Caroline say weakly as the brunette entered
"We have to adjust your perception of time when you become a vampire, Caroline. Celebrate the fact that you are no longer bound by trivial human conventions. You're free" he explained to the blonde and Selena listened thoughtfully as she leaned on the doorframe
"And I could let you die if that what you want. If you really believe your existence has no meaning I've thought about it myself... once or twice over the centuries truth to be told" he leaned down closer to her "But I'll let you in on a little secret. There's a whole world out there waiting for you great cities and art... and music. Genuine beauty" he looked towards Selena and then back to Caroline "And you can have it all. You can have a thousand more birthdays. All you have to do is ask"
Selena walked over to Caroline and sat down beside her holding her hand and Caroline looked at Klaus with teary eyes
"I don't want to die" she whispered
"Selena please" he told her and she nodded and helped him
He lifted his sleeve from his wrist and Selena helped him lift her bestfriend head up to his wrist
"There you go Sweetheart. Have at it" he offered his wrist to Caroline who hesitantly drank from it

After when Klaus left, Selena made sure Caroline was sleeping peacefully, she kissed her forehead and made her way towards her home.
On the road she felt suffocated and sad, she relived what happened to her two years ago. She almost die from a car accident. Stefan made her remember something she was trying to forget for the past coupke of years
"Are you alright?" Klaus asked from behind her and she quickly wiped her tears
"You're an asshole" she said and he chuckled "What the hell is wrong with you? Then my brother and now my bestfriend?"
"I was going to heal her" he defended himself and she scoffed in disbelief "She's fine now. Isn't she?"
"Oh my God Klaus. You're unbelievable" she stated with a small smile and walked away from him
"You're drunk. I'm not leaving you alone" he said and she chuckled
"And who said I'm drunk?" She asked and he gave her a look
"You're not completely sober" he pointed out and she scoffed
"Are you alright?" He asked once again and she nodded weakly "I don't believe that"
"I'm screwed up, Klaus... that's the truth and the worst thing that everyone knows it" she stated and he looked at her in sympathy "I guess it's who I am"
"And tonight... was difficult for me" she continued with a sigh and he frowned
"Say the word and I will kill him" Klaus told her firmly and she smiled sadly "I mean it"
"You don't have to"
"So you're not gonna tell me why the night was difficult?" He asked and she looked at him hesitantly
"I had a car accident... two years ago" she revealed and he looked at her in surprise and shock, he didn't know how to react or say
"My friend was driving, he was drunk and then lost control" she explained as tears welled up in her eyes "And tonight. I-"
He trailed her off by hugging her tightly as she sobbed in his chest as he rubbed her back soothingly "Everything is going to be okay" he cooed her
"I will always protect you, Selena no matter what the cost" he said softly when they pulled apart
"About Chicago... Yes, you hurt me and I just never expected or even wanted you to look at me like every one does" she admitted with a bitter chuckle "You don't know me, yet you judged me"
"I didn't-"
"Look around, everyone thinks I'm a bitch and a whore" she gestured around her with a fake smile "You think I like it? The way I'm coping? I don't, trust me, I hate it and I hate myself even more for wanting to-"
"What? To what?" He questioned warily when she trailed off and she shook her head, suddenly all her guards were up. Earlier, the alcohol was admitting the truth.
"You don't know me" she stated with a firm look
"I want to though" he revealed with a serious look
"I know" she said with a small smile as she wiped her tears "Goodnight, Nik"
"Goodnight little wolf" he said kissing her cheek "And don't eat cookies. You're already drunk"
"Can I ask you something?" She asked and he nodded
"Did you... did you really thought about dying?" She asked him "I heard what you said to Caroline"
"Once or twice" he whispered and he removed a lock of her hair from her face softly and she pulled him into a hug
"If you think you're alone... you're not" she whispered to his ear and he smiled adorably before they pulled apart
"Goodnight" she said before walking away, she opened the door quickly and entered to see Jenna in front of her
"Jesus!" She jumped on "You scared me"
"Jesus is not going to help you know. I saw you with Klaus. Spill" Jenna excitedly said and Selena blushed deeply
"Nothing, he escorted me that was it" she said and Jenna gave her a look "I swear"
"Whatever you say" Jenna teased
"Oh my God! I'm gonna go sleep"

The next morning she took a quick shower and changed her clothes and made her way downstairs and quickly hugged him as tears welled up in her eyes "I'll miss you" she whispered as he hugged her back
"I'll miss you too" he said when they pulled apart
"You call every day and night... promise?"
"I promise" he promised and she chuckled tearfully "You know I'm just one call away"
"I know" she said "I love you"
"I love you too... I have to go" he said as her, Jenna and Elena saw him leaving causing Selena to pull her aunt into a hug as she let tears fell down freely
After he left, Selena wiped her tears and left the house making both her aunt and sister share a concerned look but none of them talked, they just let her
Selena was walking and found herself near the Mikealson mansion. She looked at the house for few moments and knocked the door twice. She waited for Klaus to open the door, she didn't even know why she came to him from the first place
"Little wolf" he called in confusion when he opened the door to see his soulmate in front of him with teary eyes
"I didn't know where else to go" she told him as her voice cracked and he pulled her into a tight hug and rubbed her back gently
"It's all right. I'm here"
