The press was getting closer. Inching forward, slowly, toward Kokichi's bare chest. His claustrophobia didn't make it better. Why couldn't it just be over already?
Oh, I know why, Kokichi thought. Because I'm a worthless piece of trash that doesn't deserve friends. Who am I kidding, I knew this was going to happen at some point.
Why couldn't he do something, anything, before being taken to his impending doom? Why couldn't he say anything to Shuichi? Maybe even crack a joke or two... he wanted to speak to him one last time. But alas, Kokichi couldn't just go back in time and talk to the detective. It didn't work that way.
For the entirety of the killing game, Kokichi dreamed of finally having a friend, maybe something even more. Because no one trusted him, and he trusted no one, well, he wasn't so successful. But he met Shuichi. And he thought that maybe, just maybe, that dream could finally come true.
Kokichi smiled slightly to himself.
He wished he could see Shuichi smile one more time and smile with him. He wished they could both be happy.
