Today is my 21 birthday. It's a big birthday for anyone in general but today also allows my soul mate mark to appear. I'm very excited. I haven't dated anyone because I want to save everything for my soulmate. I wake up and run to the shower. I take a quick look over my body as I dry off but I don't see any new marks. I have heard that sometimes it takes a while for the mark to show.
I sigh and get ready for work. I put on my long sleeve button up black shirt and khakis that I have to wear as the uniform for the cafe I work at. I put my hair into a high pony tail and make sure I grab my keys, phone and purse. I walk to the cafe because it's only up the street from my apartment.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I hear screamed at me when I enter the building. My two coworkers and friends, Hana and Ki, run to hug me.
"Thank you!" I say returning the hug. I go to the back of the store to put my stuff away in my locker. When I return, both Hana and Ki look suspicious. They are hiding their hands behind their back.
"What?" I say warily as they are staring at me.
Suddenly I am ambushed. There is a birthday crown on my head and a birthday girl sash across my body. I don't complain because maybe it will get me better tips and I can go to that fancy spa over the weekend for my birthday.
I laugh. Before I can head out to the floor, Hana stops me.
"So?" She says.
"So..." I say confused.
"Where is your soul mate mark? I can't believe you haven't showed me. I showed you mine as soon as it appeared."
"I know you did. I checked before I left this morning and there was no mark. I guess it will take a while to show up." I say sadly. I had really hoped it would appear and I could set out trying to find him.
"Don't worry, hun. Maybe it will show up after work and we can head to a bar and see if he shows up." She says laughing. Thats exactly how it worked out for her and Hyung-woo. We went out to celebrate her birthday and the appearance of his name on her shoulder. They literally bumped into one another walking to the bar.
"Maybe." I say as I make my way to my first table.
I am on the floor for a couple of hours and I know my regular will be here shortly and they will want to talk. They always come in at the slow time and always flirt with me. I may be saving myself for my soulmate but man, these two are so hot. I'm not complaining.
I tell Hana that I am gonna run to the back for a short break. I need some water and a quick snack if I'm going to finish this shift. I've already been here for 6 hours. I know that when the two guys get here, that I will be so busy with them, I will be rushed at my other tables.
I'm about to get up when Ki comes to the back. "Emma, your regulars are here and asking for you."
I smile and roll my sleeves up to wash my hands. Ki gasps and grabs my wrists. There are now two names on my body. One on each wrist. "Hana!" Ki yells.
"What? Why are you yelling?" Hana says coming around the corner.
Ki holds up my wrists. I'm too shocked to say anything. Its really usual to have more than one name appear. I have two. Two soulmates.
"This one says, Taehyung and this one says, Jungkook. Those are the names of two BTS members, Emma! They could be your soulmates!" Ki says.
"Yeah right. I wouldn't know them anyway if they came up and slapped me in the face. Besides, how would I even meet them to begin with. Look, we will figure it out after work. Right now, I have other tables and my regulars to get to." I say.
We each agree that after work, we will go out to celebrate. I walk out onto the floor and see my regulars at their usual table.
"Hi guys!" I greet them with a smile.
"Hey Emma." They say together and it makes me shiver.
"You want the usual?" I ask.
They nod and I head off to get their normal order. I return and as I set the last drink down, one of them gently grabs my hand. I freeze and look at him. He has shaggy black hair thats slightly curly and beautiful skin and a boxy kinda smile.
"What are you doing?" I ask shakily.
"That's my name." He says, with a voice thats deep and thick like honey. He gently runs a fingertip over the letters and little electrical shocks run up my arm. They aren't painful. Actually a tingly.
"Thats your name?" I say dumbly.
I grab my arm with my other hand, therefore making the other name visible.
The other guys takes my hand and runs his fingers over those letters. The electrical tingles start again. "This is my name." He has dark hair and dark eyes, also beautiful skin and looks slightly like a bunny when he smiles.
I swallow. They are both running their fingers over the names and it's honestly driving me a little crazy. The tingles feel good and they are so good looking.
"We've been waiting for your mark Emma." The one who claimed Taehyung as his name.
"W-what do you mean?" I ask.
"I've had my mark for almost two years and Jungkook has his for almost a year. We knew you were our soulmate. We would feel it. The mark would throb whenever we came to see you. Now that you have your marks, they don't throb anymore. They are warm." He explains.
"I don't see any marks on you. How do I know you are telling the truth?" I ask. But I don't need to. They way my body reacted when they touched the marks proved it.
"Look." Taehyung says. He lifts his sleeve and plain as day on his shoulder is my name. The other clears his throat and lifts his shirt slightly. There on his side just below his ribcage is my name was well. There was no denying that they are in fact, my soulmates.
I smile brightly at them. "Well, this is unusual. You know, when people find out that I have more than one soulmate, it's going to be brought into the media. It's just not that common."
"We are quite use to being in the spotlight. Do you really not know who we are?" Jungkook asks.
"I just know that you are two good looking guys who come in here a lot and now we are soulmates. Should I know who you are?"
Taehyung leans slightly closer and in a lower voice says, "We are members of BTS."
The shock on my face must be visible because they both chuckle. "You've heard of us?" Jungkook says.
"Well, yeah. I mean, I know of you. I had no idea what any of you look like and definitely didn't think you would be coming in here for, oh my gosh, almost 2 years. Is that why you started coming here?" I ask.
"We came in shortly after I got my mark. You happen to be our waitress and from the way my mark was throbbing, I knew it had to be you. When I saw your name tag, I knew for sure. I had to wait for you though. I didn't want to tell you until you had your own mark to show you were mine."
"Emma!" I hear my name being yelled by Hana over by the register and I look over to see she is kinda swamped and I realized I've been talking to the two for longer and was ignoring the other customers.
"Can we get your number? We need to talk to the other members and let them know that we confirmed with you. They will want to know get everything in order. There are things that need to be discussed with the other members and their soul mates and with you. We will head there now and we can give you a call later." Jungkook says.
I give them each my number and head over to Hana.
"What were you doing? It's not like you to ignore customers like that." Ki says after we finish up with all the customers and are cleaning before closing.
"They are my soulmates!" I say excitedly.
"What?" They both yell.
"Yes. They both have my name on them. When they touched the letters on my wrists, the feeling!"
"Oh my gosh! I'm so happy for you! Is that why they come in here all the time?"
"They came in shortly after Taehyung got his mark and he knew because his mark would throb when he was near me. He said when he saw my nametag, he knew. Jungkook got his almost a year ago. Taehyung two years. They have known but wanted to wait until I had my mark to say anything. And there's more." I say.
Both girls look at me. "They are both members of BTS! Please don't say anything because there are things that need to be worked out between me and them and the other members and management."
They both squeal as I said the first part. "I knew they looked familiar but I couldn't place it! This is so exciting! I wonder if you will have to tour with them. Will you have to move in? How will this work?"
"Whoah! Slow down! I gave them my number and after they work some stuff out with the other members and their soul mates, they are going to call me. I think it all has to be a little hush hush because of media and fans."
"Yeah. I mean, I'm a fan and didn't even know the other members had soul mates."
"Exactly. You guys are my best friends, so I'm counting on you to keep quiet. Now, let's go celebrate."
We leave work and go to the bar across the street. We don't do anything too crazy and I'm not a fan of alcohol, so mostly soda and dancing together. We call it an early night since I'm waiting for that phone call.
