Jayla POV:
Its been a few day since we heard anything from spooky. Jensis family ended up ok, so I'm guessing spooky took Jah's threat seriously. Jen has been living with us and it's been really fun having her around. Jahseh had also been a lot more happier with her around.
It was about 4 in the afternoon and we were currently in the living room watching a movie. Jah and Jensis were on the same couch cuddled up together. Me and stokeley also sitting on the same couch and not as close. I couldn't help but stare at the was Jahseh and Jensis looked when they were together. They were over their smiling and laughing, enjoying each other's company.
I look up at Stokeley and he was on his phone, not paying attention to me nor the movie. These past few days have been good considering there's been not one in trouble or after us but when it came to me and Stokeley, he was actually very distant.
His distance has been the only thing on my mind lately.
Of course I've tried to get us alone or to us to go somewhere but he seems to always be busy. Maybe he doesn't feel the same way he did at first. Maybe with all that's going on he isn't attracted to me anymore. Thoughts like that were the only thing roaming my mind at the moment.
"What?" Stokeley ask snapping me out of my thoughts. I quickly look down not noticing I was still staring at him. "Nothing" I respond.
His phone lights up indicating he got a text message. He silently reads it then let's out a dramatic breath. He gets up and walks over to where his shoes were. He puts them on and walk back towards our way.
"I gotta be somewhere Jit but I'll probably come back later on tonight" He says as he walks over to Jah and daps him up.
He turns to look at me. "I'll see you later" He says. I reply back with a slight smile.
I watch him walk out the door and to his car. I hear his car start up and out the drive way he went. I felt some type of way considering he walked to Jah to dap him up but all I got was a see you later, not even a hug. Maybe he was in a rush and didn't have time to give me a hug. Maybe I was making a big deal out of nothing.
I attempt to watch the movie to distract my thoughts about it. All of a sudden I glance over at Jensis and Jahseh. They were kissing and all boo'd up. Now feeling like a third wheel I get up and go upstairs to my room.
Once I got to my room I close and lock it. Turn on my tv not watching only using it for background noice. I fall laying on my bed facing my ceiling. Everyone seem caught up in there own stuff. Jahseh and Jensis was happy. Stokeley seemed focused on everything but me. I wonder where he went to go. As my mind wondered I felt tired and closed my eyes.
Suddenly I woke up realizing I went to sleep. I get up and my tv was off. I assume because after a certain amount of time not interacting with it it automatically turns off. I sit up grabbing my phone for the time.
It was 11 almost 12 at night. I was surprised because it only felt like I was sleep for 5 minutes. I get up opening my door going downstairs for something to drink. Passing the living room I see Jahseh and Jensis on the couch sleeping. I go into the kitchen over to the fridge and pull a bottled spited from the pack.
I take back up to my room closing my door behind me. I open the sprite taking a dip from it while look out my window. My room was completely dark. The street light outside shining through my window being the only source of light. Remembering Stokeley saying he was going to call be back i check my phone seeing I had not notifications.
I text him thinking maybe he forgot to text me.

I lock my phone back and putting it down on my bed face down. Taking another sip from my sprite looking out the window admiring how quiet and peaceful the streets were. Suddenly phone dings notifying me I got a text.
Stokes❤️
Me: Heyy🙂
Stokes: Wassup
Me: nothing just woke up from a nap. Hbu
Stokes: oh. I just got home.
Me: Oh. Where u coming from this late?💀
Stokes: Why you go to sleep so early? Now you gone be up all night.💀
Me: Because I did.💀 why you dodge my question?💀💀
Stokes: I just came from the store.
Me: ohh. Why'd you leave earlier?
Stokes: why are you asking so many questions?
Me: I'm just asking, seems like u were in a rush.
Stokes: I wasn't.
Me: oh. What you about to do now?
You could come over.
Stokes: I'm kind of tired but I'll see you tomorrow tho.
Me. Okay.
Stokes: yeah, Gn❤️
I read his text without texting back. I couldn't help but feel like he was hiding something for me. He dodge my questions and getting all offensive when I asked why he left. I look out my window realizing this is probably the most alone I ever felt. I just need some company but my company always seemed to be busy or tired.
I get up and grab my hoodie and put some. Nike slides on. Walking out my room taking my phone and the sprite. I quietly walk downstairs careful not to wake up Jen or Jahseh. I grab my house key of the small table we have by the door. I open the front door slowly and walk out closing it behind me a quietly as I can.
Without any direction or destination I start walking out my drive way turning to the left up the street. I need to clear my mind.
I start getting closer the exit of my neighborhood. Walking out of my neighborhood I turn right waking up the street to the convenience store.
Walking up the silent street I close my eyes feeling the slight breeze on my face. My hood was up and my hand were tucked inside my hoodie pockets. I open my eyes seeing I had already arrived at the store I turn into the parking lot. I walk into the convenience store, seeing only one person at the cash register. I go over to the candy isle looking for a specific candy.
Here we are! I think as I spot some sour straws. I get a pack of the green apple, blue raspberry, and rainbow kind. I also get some Doritos and a A&W cream soda. Which I have no idea why I'm getting a cream soda considering I have a sprite in my hoodie pocket.
I walk to the cash register putting everything I picked out on the counter. He starts to ring it up. I suddenly hear the bell from the door ring as if someone entered the store. I turn around and see a man dressed in all black walk in. He look intimidating and had tattoos all over his arms and neck. He looked around the store but didn't seem to be interested in anything in there. Once I payed from my stuff I hurried out of their because the energy in there didn't sit right with me.
As I walked out the parking lot of the store turning a sharp left back down the street. I hear the bell from the door of the store. I assumed the man in the store walked out.
I looked inside the bag to get my sour straws. I open them taking one out and biting it. I look up seeing I was almost to my neighborhood. All of a sudden I hear foot steps behind me.
My heart stopped realizing that there was someone walking behind me. I could feel my heat start beating faster.
I hear the foot steps get louder telling me they were getting closer. My hands started getting sweaty.
I know if I start running now then they would just start running after me. I wanted to wait to I got closer to my neighborhood to run.
I tried to act normal as if I didn't suspect anything, they were getting closer.
I pick up my pace but hearing him do the same.
I try to walk a little after but he was right behind me. Gripping my bag tighter I try to make a run for it.
They started running as well. I know if I could jus get into my neighborhood I could see it home. Our house was one of the first houses when you turn in. As I was about to run into my neighborhood I black van pulls up in front of me coming to a complete stop causing me to stop.
The man behind me caught up and grabbed me picking me up, causing my phone to fall on the ground.
He tried to put me into the van but I fought. Eventually I was overpowered and pushed into the van. He hopped in behind me and close the van door. The van quickly drove off.
I was gone. No phone. No one even knowing I was in on the back of a van not laying safely in my bed. It probably won't be until tomorrow they realize I'm gone. I was in trouble and no one even knew
