Ever since I was ten I knew what my soulmate was eating.

Okay that sounded weird.
But basically if I was eating cookies my soulmate would taste them, and vice versa.
I was playing my favorite game and drinking grape panta.
The 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 panta flavor.
*Hmm, I wonder if my soulmate likes grape panta? *
========Maki's POV========
"Ugh" I said in annoyance
"What is it? " Asked Kaito
"My soulmate is drinking grape panta. 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣."
Kokichi:👁👄👁
Ouma looked at me and then at his panta bottle.
" WAAAAAH I DON'T WANT TO BE MAKI'S SOULMATE! SHE IS SO MEANNN"
"𝙎𝙝𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩"
"Maki close your eyes"
Kaede said
"What? "
"I need to check something"
I closed my eyes, I heard some movement.
"Eat this"
Kaede gave something to Ouma.
"Do you taste anything? "
Asked Shuichi
"No"
I opened my eyes, Kokichi was eating a cookie.
========Y/N's POV========
I was finishing my panta when suddenly I got a text from my friend Sonia.
She invited me to a café near the school.
(Time skip)
I entered the cafe and saw Sonia sitting across Gundham.
"Ah Y/N! You're finally here! "
Sonia smiled
I sat next Sonia.
We talked for a couple of minutes while waiting for our order.
"Y/N forgive me for being inquisitive, but have you met your soulmate yet? "
"Unfortunately not"
"Do not worry mortal, you still have plenty of time to find your other half"
"Thanks Gundham"
I gave him a weak smile.
*It's not fair.
All my friend already met their soulmates. Sonia and Gundham, Chiaki, Hajime, Mikan, Ibuki.
And I still have no idea who's mine.*
I woke up from my thoughts when I heard the door open.
A group of people around my age, walked in.
There was this one kid with purple hair and a checkered scarf.
A taller guy, also with purple hair and a purple jacket.
There was a blonde girl, with a pink skirt with music notes on it.
A boy with blue hair and a hat, he looks emo.
And lastly a girl with brunette hair in ponytails.
*wow, she's really pretty*
Wait what am I thinking?
I already have a soulmate,I just haven't met them yet...
Besides the chances of her being my soulmate are like 5% or something!
Finally our order came, I started eating my slice of cake.

I looked over at the group, and the brunette girl was looking at me, she noticed me looking at her direction and quickly turned away.
Huh.
Sonia and Gundham were talking about Gundham's hamsters.
Meanwhile the group was ordering food.
I didn't mean to eavesdrop , but.
A tea, grape panta blah blah blah. Oh! The girl with ponytails is ordering.
She ordered a black coffee.
Anyway back to my cake.
It was (favorite flavor) frosting with sprinkles and (favorite flavor) filling.
The group got their order right as I finished eating my cake.
Hmm. This tastes like-

Wait, no way.
Pfft, no way! There's soo many people that could be drinking black coffee at this exact moment, it doesn't have to be her.
I started drinking my (favourite drink).
The girl looked at me and I looked at her.
She looked shocked.
"What Maki? Do you have a crush? *gasp* maybe that's your soulmate? "
The boy with the checkered scarf teased the girl.
The short boy pushed Maki towards me.
"..."
The purple haired boy ran towards me.
"Hi! I am Kokichi Ouma the ultimate supreme leader. And this is Maki! "
He pointed to the brunette.
"Um, hey I am Y/N L/N"
I stood up
"Hi Y/N! Maki meet Y/N, Y/N meet Maki! "
He pushed us closer, and ran back to his friends.
"Sooo... "
*God, what am I supposed to talk about with her*
"Drink this"
She pointed to my cup.
I drank it.
"Is it (favorite drink)? "
"Yeah, how did you-
"Wait ,are you? "
"Your soulmate? I think so"
"Wow! I am glad because you're very pretty- I-i mean I don't care how people look but you're just very pretty and ahhh I am getting off topic"
Maki was blushing a bit and she was playing with her hair.
"I-it's fine"
The blonde haired girl came up to me and introduced everyone.
"And you already know me! I am Koki-
" Are you 12? "
I cut him off.
Kaito started laughing.
Sonia and Gundham introduced each other to the rest.
"I think you and Gonta could be good friends"
Shuichi said
"I do not know, who that Gonta mortal is, but I'll look forward to meeting him"
"Wow, you're a real detective?! That's awesome! You get to solve crimes and murders, I really like those kind of stuff!"
Sonia was talking with Shuichi
"Oh? Well then princess, you'll be glad to meet my gang D.I.C.E!"
Everyone was having a good time, but I couldn't find Maki.
I went outside and saw her sitting on the pavement.
"Hey, what's up? "
I sat next to her
"Oh, hey"
"Are you okay? "
"It's just, I am not sure about this whole 'soulmate' thing. I hope this doesn't come of as rude, but we just met"
"Hm, I think I understand. We don't have to date now, we can just be friends and maybe if we catch feelings for each other later, we can, you know"
"That sounds nice"
Maki smiled softly
*wow, she looks so cute when she's smiling*
I talked with Maki for a couple of minutes, it got darker.
Maki rested her head on my shoulder.
"Ah-um! "
"Are you okay? " Maki looked at me
"Y-yeah, I am fine"

So I really wanted to write something for Maki's birthday, but I had no idea what to write, and I didn't want to write another 'throwing a birthday party' one shot, so instead I wrote a soulmate au. This probably sucks ngl lol
