we walked in to the living room and saw dad on the computer and carlos on his ipad
"hey dad" we said clearly bored
"what'cha working on" Julie asked
"well now that the house is on the market, we need to add some photos to the website, help me pick some good ones" he replied signalling us to come over and look, we walked over and had a look, i didn't want to move but if that's what will help them then i will "got this batch right here"
"these are really nice" I said quite impressed
"yeah?"
"yeah"
"thanks.. these didn't turn out though, the ones from mom's studio, it's like.. little lights and dots all over the place, kinda look like orbs right?"
"orbs?!" carlos said as he jumped up "I've seen some freaky stuff about those on youtube.. people say they're ghosts, do you think that's mom and she made some friends?"
"that's a nice thought, but there are no such things as ghost" dad chuckled
"sounds like someone's spending to much time on the internet.. you can just trash those" julie said, surprisingly calm for the fact that we see dead sunset curve everyday
"all right. so trash, trash, trash"
"um dad, I was thinking.. if we're just moving because of me, and you, y/n and carlos wanna stay, i'm fine with that" julie said, i'm happy she said that she really doesn't want to move either i can tell
"I vote we stay!" carlos shouts raising his hand "I don't wanna have to clean under my bed"
"i'm with him on that, my wardrobe is not looking fun to clean out.." I said..
"noted" dad smiled "what made you have second thoughts?"
"I don't know, I guess a combination of things. I know that tia says that moving is moving on, but I don't think that's the answer" Julie said
"I totally agree with you on that. I mean, I think.. I think moving on has to come from the inside, and one of us took a huge step this morning." dad was so happy it was nice to see him like this
"all our memories of mom are here, and we should be too. can we stay?" I asked really hoping he says yes
"all votes are in.. yes! yes! yes! thank you.. get in here, come on" yayyy we could stay! we all came in for a big group hug we were all so happy "mm! big tight group hug" he added causing us to laugh
"someone help me find my phone, I need to call the real estate agent"
"oh um, I think I saw it in the kitchen" carlos is defo up to something now, jeez this kid
dad and Julie walk off the the kitchen and its just me and carlos, he looks at the computer and then to me
"what are you up to kiddo?"
"I.. uhh"
"there's not such things as ghosts"
"but the orbs I mean what could they be?"
"beams of light from the window, it was probably just taken at an odd angle.."
"okay.. ghosts.."
I chuckled and left him to do whatever he wanted seeing as he was set on finding out they were real
time skip to later in the evening
i was in my room study and then saw my acoustic guitar in the corner of my room, i went over and picked it up and then went to find my song book and practised one of the songs i wrote
"hey" a boys voice said as i began to play
"ah.. alex warning next time?" i said jumping
"oh right sorry.." theres was an odd silence for a while
"is there a reason your here?"
"um.. i just wanted someone to talk to and i don't the boys would be much help"
"oh, is everything okay.."
"yeah i'm just confused, being a ghost isn't as easy as it's made out to be"
"I could guess, I get it I mean it's confusing for me too.. I can see ghosts like what?"
"right?! like you can see us, people can hear us play music, I struggle to pick things up and i cried in a room for 25years!"
"that must have been a big surprise, why don't you try and practise picking things up? look come sit down" i patted the end of my bed like a signal to say it was okay and he came sat down "okay let's start of small.. my pen, try and pick this up"
"okay.." he tries to pick it up a few times and fails and then he managed to pick it up "i got it!"
"yeah see, you just gotta try over and over again"
"thank you for helping me.."
"it's okay"
alex started looking around my room and saw the pack of face mask (skincare not covid ones lmao) on my desk
"what are those" he pointed at them, i went over and picked them up
"these?"
"yeah"
"oh, they're face masks. you put them on your face and it helps your skin"
"that's cool.."
"you wanna try it?"
"huh.."
"i can put one on for you if you'd like, we can do them together"
"really? i'd like that"
"yeah? okay what one do you want?"
"um.. that one" he points to one randomly
"okay it might be kinda cold" i finish putting it on alex and i put one on me, we turn on so music because i really needed to teach him about the new people, like ariana grande, harry styles and others
"i like this song" he said clearly having alot of fun, the night goes on and yous to chat for awhile getting to know eachother
Time skip to the next day at school
julie had told me her plan to get back into the music program and it made me excited, she was getting back into music. we walk into the music room to see flynn sitting thiere badly playing the trumpet
"what are you doing? and where is everyone?" Julie asked
"spirit assembly, i was kinda blowing it off cause i wasn't feeling very spirity" flynn replied sad that julie didn't get back in
they spoke about the plan and about how julie missed her chance but me and flynn thought otherwise and we all made our way to the spirit assemebly, we walked in to see Dirty Candy preforming. the guys suddenly poofed next to us
"what are you guys doing here?" julie aked as i tapped her on the shoulder to make her realise we were in public
"we wanna see you stick it to the man, isn't that right boys?" luke said
"man i miss highschool.." reggie said starring at Dirty Candy and clearly meaning he misses the girls.. i was kind of jealous
alex started to do the moves of the dance and luke had to hit him to make him stop, if i'm being honest alex was a better dancer then carrie..
"now's your chance, go talk to her.. see you in music class" flynn really wanted her back into this programm
"what are you waiting for? this is your time!" reggie said
"yeah i mean, you look really nervous. like yack in a bowl nervous" alex stated making julie even more anxious
"i just don't think i had enough time to work on the song" julie was so scared
"i wouldn't have given you the song if i didn't think you were gonna rock it, now there's a piano on that stage with your name on it" luke was really supportive
"i can't do it alone" julie looked at me
"what.." i questioned
"help me you have your bass and I know that you know the notes because you played them this morning" Julie wanted me to play with her..
"fine i'll play with you" I agreed know how much this meant to her and Flynn
"thank youuu" she said as we made our way to the stage
"she plays bass.. awesome" reggie was surprised
we made it to the stage, i was nervous but julie was on a new level of nervous, she sat the piano and i plugged the amp into my bass waiting for julie to start, at this point people were leaving.. she started playing the beginning notes of 'Bright' and stops to look over at the boys
"you got this!" luke said and then julie started playing and started to sing me playing the notes on the bass.. the lights came on and people starting paying attention, me and julie loved performing and it was so fun, i saw the boys get all excited. all of a sudden the ghost band had poofed in with their instruments and was playing with us, julie had gotten up to sing and i took over the piano seeing as reggie played bass and Julie had gotten up to sing center-stage. we started to realise people could see the boys.. they could see them!
"uh is this really happening?" julie asked luke
"just go with it" he replied happy people could see sunset curve (+me and julie)
reggie came over and sat with me playing after singing with luke, we sung together along with the rest of the guys, it was really fun singing with him and seeing julie with music and confident again, the song ended and the guys disappeared. oh no, how do we explain this..
