Kyjie
"....from class A01, this is Denn Kyjie Fierro a BS aviation student ready for landing" As I announced and slowly pulling the yoke then I landed safely sa runway.
"Good flight Mr. Fierro" Our senior captain greeted me, handed his hand for a shake hands and tap my shoulder. I just nodded and smiled on him.
My flight simulator training for today is finally over. Makakahinga na ako ng maluwag nito since that flight, I can't just calm myself while pinapalipad ko yung plane.
Saktong pagkalabas ko sa simulator centre agad akong sinalubong ni Zarek and Von who's now wearing their uniform na kanina lang naka jersey lang dahil sa practice.
"How's flight?" Tanong ni Zarek as we walked malapit sa runway.
"Same as usual" I answered briefly.
"How about Tsunade sama?" Dagdag niya and he pursed his lips then may halong panliliit sa mata na tila nanghihinala pa.
"Tsunade? May saltik ka?" Natatawang sabi ko at siniko siya.
"You know, that lady who punched you! Grabe yung suntok niya kasi napadugo niya yung labi mo na no one ever did before" Giit niya and glanced at me at biglang nag pilyong ngiti.
"Tsunade, hmm" nakangising saad ko then at napa-isip sa sinabi niya.
Zarek is kinda weird sa mga expression niya sa pananalita kasi hinahaluan niya nang' Japanese words since he's addicted to anime and that 'Tsunade' is a character from naruto that we both watched way back senior year.
I tsked and smirked. "Parang yun lang"
"Pero napasa'an ka" Sabay kaming napalingon ni Zarek kay Von at bigla nalang sumapaw sa usapan namin.
Von is the man with a few words, he doesn't talk too much so you're lucky if he talk plenty but we never heard him.
"Nandiyan ka pala, akala ko umalis ka na naman" saad ni Zarek, at tinapunan lang siya ng tinignan ni Von at hindi na nagsalita pa at natawa nalang ako sa kanilang dalawa.
"You better not talk to him" I whispered like an idiot and tapped his shoulder twice.
"Anyhow, how's your heart?" Natigilan ako sa tanong ni Zarek and that made me coughed and as if hindi siya narinig "hoy, ano? Kumusta nga?" Pagpipilit niya pa and then tinignan ko siya.
"Ito puso parin, alangan naman maging atay diba?" Halakhak ko sabay siko kay Von na hindi man lang kumibo.
"Nice joke" tipid na sabi ni Von.
"Wow ha, supportive kang kupal ka" Asik ni Zarek sabay batok kay Von pero hindi na siya pinatulan pa ni Von at inirapan lang siya "As if naman Kyj hindi ka nag drama sa-" hindi niya naituloy ang sasabihin niya at agad ko siyang binatokan sabay takbo.
"May puntahan pa ako!" Sigaw ko then wave my hand on the air and I can hear Zarek's cursed.
Dumiretso na din ako sa changing room naming mga soccer player para kunin ang varsity jacket ko para madala ko sa bahay pero bago pa ako makapasok sa changing room natigilan ako then I saw her walking in the hallway mag-isa and she keep narrowing her eyes sa mga nakasalubong niya na obviously tinitignan siya. Kahit sino naman makakasalubong niya mapapalingon talaga sa kanya, she has the face.
I just smiled at tsaka pumasok na ng tuloyan sa changing room.
I unbuttoned my pilot uniform at hinubad ang white t-shirt ko then grabbed my towel then unbelted my slacks and wrapped the towel on my waist sabay hubad sa slacks ko. I was about to enter the shower room at biglang kumalabog ng bukas ang pinto ng changing room so I immediately turned my head but it was just Jacob, isa sa mga soccer players.
"Gulat ka no?" Aniya and showed me his playful face
"Just lock the door kung lalabas ka na" I said and leaving him a silly smile.
I took a 10 minutes of quick shower since gusto ko lang malamigan ang katawan ko and to look fresh pag-uwi ko. After kong maligo kinuha ko na ang extra white t-shirt ko then pantalon para mag bihis na because it's already 4:21 at sa mga oras na ito wala na akong class na i'aattend pa.
Bago pa man ako mag bihis, I took a quick mirror sa loob ng locker ko then seeing my wet hair dripping down to my face. While mesmerizing by my own face bigla na namang kumalabog ang pinto but I wasn't surprise at all since mga players lang naman ang pwedeng pumasok dito sa changing room.
"Practice yourself to opened the door gently " Asik ko without looking on him.
"Are you lost baby girl" Biglang sigaw ng isang player sa kabilang locker at nagulat nalang ako at nagtatawanan na sila.
"Mukhang maling locker yata na pasukan mo miss" sigaw naman nung ibang lalaki.
I immediately slammed my locker at lumingon sa taong pumasok. My eyes widened and raised my brows.. It was her, frowned her brows at napatingin ng diretso sa'akin.
"Hey! What are you doing here?!" Asik ko sabay taas ng medyo sa towel ko.
"As if naman tititigan ko yang katawan mo" She frowned and furrowed her brows.
"Never mind! Bakit ka nandito? This is for boys changing room only" Asik ko and giving her a confused look yet surprised.
"So? Kasalanan ko ba na boys changing room pala ang napasukan ko at hindi pala comfortable room" Madiing sabi niya and she rolled her eyes.
"Well, mukhang gusto mo yatang mag stay mun dito" A voice from nowhere approached him at isa yun sa mga ka'teammates ko.
She's giving him a side-eye look, and pursed her lips. Mukhang hindi maganda ang mangyayari dito. I immediately wear my t-shirt at dali-daling sinuot ang pantalon ko and never minding my wet hair at agad lumapit sa kanila.
"What? You wanna stay her for a while?" Dagdag pa ng teammates ko and showing his abs.
She just looked down to his abs, without any facial expression. Hindi ko muna siya nilayo at pinag masdan kung anong gagawin niya. She didn't move for a seconds but then when my teammate was about to step closer at her and she step backward, two steps at agad siyang yumuko grabbing for something sa gilid and I was surprise at isang balde na may mop at agad niya itong ibinuhos sa teammate ko at huli na ang lahat para pigilan ko siya at pati siya nabasa.
"Bastos ka ha!" My teammate grip at nag-aakmang pagbuhatan siya ng kamay pero agad ko itong natigilan and glared on him.
"Hey cap! Kilala mo ba itong bastos na babaeng to?!" Buwelta niya at halatang gusto na na niyang suntukin si Hera.
"Don't you ever hit a girl" tugon ko and keep my voice calm.
"Ako pa talaga bastos? When you are trying to get me to feed your fantasies because you're being so erotic! You rapist!" Buwelta naman ni Hera so I turned my head sa kanya at diretsong tinignan siya sa mata and she narrowed her eyes.
"Let's go outside" tugon ko at hinarap ang teammate ko and he is now griping "chill dude, I'll talk to her" mahinahong sabi ko at mabuti nalang lumayo na siya.
Agad kong hinarap si Hera and she glared her eyes on me tsaka ako inirapan sabay talikod at padabog na lumabas ng changing room with her clothes wet. Agad ko siyang sinundan dala ang varsity jacket ko. Hindi pa naman siya nakalayo sa changing room so run to keep up with her at hinarangan siya.
"What?" She said coldly and curled her lip.
"Wear this" tugon ko sabay abot sa varsity jacket ko.
"Why should I?"
"Your wet"
"It's none of your concern-"
Hindi ko na siya pinatapos sa sasabihin niya at agad siyang niyakap at alam ko naman ang consequences sa ginawa kong ito pero wala na akong ibang magawa para lang suotin ang varsity jacket ko. She's wet at all at hindi naman ako tanga para hayaan ang babaeng nabasa.
"What the! What are you doing?!" Gulat na sabi niya and trying to pushed me. Kahit gaano pa siya kalakas manuntok hindi parin mag match ang lakas niya para sa mga lalaking tulad ko.
"No I won't unless you'll accept my offer" paninigas ko at mag hinigpitan ang yakap.
Lahat ng mga dumaang estudyante ay napatingin nalang saamin na may gulat sa mukha nila but hindi ko na sila pinansin pa at hindi parin kumalas sa pagkayakap ko sa kanya.
"Arghhh ano ba! Bitawan mo nga ako!" Sigaw niya pa and trying hard to pushed me.
"No I won't" I stay still. Actually I liked the idea.
"Kuya Llyod!!!" Matulis na sigaw niya na halos mabitawan ko siya dahil masakit sa taenga yung sigaw niya. But I wondered kung sinong kuya ang tinawag niya "Kuya Llyod! Someone is assaulting me!!" Sigaw niya pa.
Maya-maya sa pagsisigaw niya while calling for that kuya Llyod bigla nalang may tumumbad na lalaking naka black plain t-shirt and wearing cargo pants with a body builder. He glared his eyes on like kakainin niya ako sa mga titig niya, napalunok laway ako and I don't have idea kung bakit masama ang tingin niya sa'akin.
"Kuya Lloyd he's assaulting me!" Buwelta niya my eyes widened at kumalas kaagad sa pagkakayakap niya.
"What?-" asik ko at natigilan at napansin kong papalapit na sa'akin ang lalaki na tinawag niyang kuya Llyod.
Aha! I knew him, siya yung lalaking biglang pumasok sa dean's office while sinermonan kami ng dean. Ngayon ko lang naalala.
"Gusto mo bang mabalian ng buto?!" Asik niya sa kalmadong boses niya pero ang lalim pakinggan.
I gulped "I didn't meant that, sorry boss" tugon ko naman, raising my both hands for a surrender gesture then step back.
"You can go now kuya Llyod, and will you please stop following me alam ko naman patago mo akong sinusundan" tugon ni Hera and curled her lips as if she didn't asked for help.
"Sorry ma'am, pero kung hindi ko naman ginawa yun baka ano nang ginawa sayo ni totoy" Napakunot ang noo ko sa sinabi niya but chuckled at the same time.
"That gross, but don't worry kuya Llyod I'm not harmful to your girl" Saad ko sabay sulyap kay Hera at inirapan lang ako.
Without any word, tumalikod na siya at naglakad papalayo. I smirked while thinking of the attitude and guts she have.
After a long day, I decided to go home already and I promised mom to take her out on a date. Shempre kahit gaano sila ka busy ni daddy dahil sa mga company stuff maiisingit ko paring ilabas si mommy for distressing her kahit once a week lang and for dad alam ko namang he's a busy man and no one could stop him from doing his stuff.
I just arrived at home at exactly 6:40, at nagsi-ilawan na ang lahat ng ilaw sa bahay which made our house stand-out all of the houses her in our subdivision, and yes we owned this entire subdivisions.
"Good evening po sir Kyjie" bati saakin ng isang helpers namin na sumalubong saaken, wearing her usual uniform.
I just nodded at her at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad patungo sa living room where my little sister, Kylie browsing g through her phone and without minding me.
"Slow down, baka lamunin ka na ng cellphone mo" I said then chuckled and with that agad siyang napatungo sa'akin and frowned her brows.
"Don't talk to me, si mommy lang ide'date mo!" She pouted sabay crossed-arm then turned her face.
"You wanna go with us?" Tugon ko then agad nasiglaan ang mukha niya at hinarap kaagad ako.
"Really kuya?" She said enthusiastically.
"Of course, why not?" Saad at ngumiti ng malapad sa kanya.
"Omg! Wahhh mag-aayos muna ako" agad siyang tumayo at kumiripas ng takbo patungo sa kwarto niya.
Kylie is my younger sister, and she's currently a freshman highschool sa Del Vega University, highschool field na nasa kabilang field malapit sa college field. She's sweet but not most of time kasi nag dedepende sa mood niya yung pagka sweet niya. Gusto kong gampanan ang role ko bilang kuya niya, I want to protect her at any cost since hindi na siya masyadong nasusubaybayan nila mommy sa mga ginagawa niyang mga bagay-bagay as she continuously growing.
"Ini-spoil mo talaga ang kapatid mo" That gentle voice of my precious mom made me face her immediately. She's wearing a casual dress that fits in her so much.
"You look gorgeous as always mom, I can't blame dad" tugon ko then lumapit sa kanya to kiss her cheeks.
"Then you inherited this look of mine, your dad's look as well" Sagot naman ni mommy na nakangiti.
I just smiled and stand next to her para hintayin si Kylie.
"Let's go" Pagyaya niya kaagad at kakababa lang galing sa kwarto niya. She's wearing a sleeveless top and mini denim skirt.
I glared my eyes on her at agad naman siyang tumakbo sa tabi ni mommy
"Mom!" Sigaw niya and pouted, her eyes on me.
"Just let your sister whatever she want. Nag dadalaga na siya" Nakangising sabi ni mama.
"Too short, but let's not waste time" Aniko then offered my left elbow to mom and right elbow to Kylie to scourt them patungo sa kotse ko.
"Are you doing fine now son?" Tanong ni mama at kasalukoyan akong nag mamaneho.
"Yes mum" tipid na sagot ko while smiling.
"How about dad's plan? Baka na pressure ka na naman" She consoled her.
"Not at all mum, para sa ikabubuti sa lahat and as long as both you and dad felt satisfied enough" Nakangiting sabi ko while both of my hand nasa manibela.
"Just confront me if you can't take it anymore okay?" Tugon ni mommy and slightly tap my hair.
"But kuya knowing na galing ka pa-"
"You know what Kyl, just wear my varsity instead at baka mag i'stay ka dito sa kotse ko at sobrang ikli ng sinuot mo" Agad na bungad ko and glancing on her sa rear mirror and chuckled.
"No thanks" giit niya and I can hear mum's chuckled too.
Why girls keep rejecting my varsity jacket?
Just right in time, nasa isang restaurant na kami at sabay nang bumaba si mommy at Kylie at naiwan ako to park my car then followed them inside.
"What do you want to eat mum?" Tanong ko then scanned the menu.
"Uhm this, Carpaccio Scallops" Mommy commanded ed then put the menu in the table.
"Kyl?"
"I want Gyro kuya!" Masiglang sagot niya.
We already ordered the food then just in 5 minutes nakahanda na lahat.
"Your dad must not be missing this kind of events in our family. Don't he like this just the four of us" Saad ni mommy while dahan-dahang pinunasan ang labi niya ng tissue.
"He's a busy man" I plastered a reassuring smile and gulpe on my drink.
"Well, I guess ikaw na ang susunod sa yapak niya" Ani mama at ngumit sa'akin.
"Of course mom"
"But I hope, you will treat your wife like this and spare your family a time" Saad ni mama and I looked at her.
"Eh paano mommy, he and ate Ivy just broke up" natigilan ako sa sinabi ni Kylie at agad naman hinawakan ni mommy ang kamay niya.
"Sweetie, watch what are you saying okay?" Mahinahon sabi ni mommy. My mom is calm person and Inherited that from her.
"I'm sorry kuya" Kylie looked down and sighed.
"Let's just forget about it" Saad ko without looking at them.
Simula nung binuklat na topic ni Kylie, tahimik na kami the whole time hanggang sa pag-uwi namin. When we reached home dumiretso na ako sa kwarto ko to rest myself
Ivy was my ex-lover, we broke up because of personal reasons but sa tingin ko nasa akin ang malaking parte why'd she choose to end our relationship at nilayuan na ako ng tuloyan at lumipat na sa states to continue her study there as an engineering student. We once promised each other na we will fly together kung makapagtapos na kami sa course namin but I guess hanggang pangarap lang yun. Till now, I am slowly healing the wounds that I get from our relationship break-up.
Slowly opened my eyes, facing the ceiling then decide kung babangon ba ako or matutulog pa.
Just another day today! So I get up already and check the time and it's already 6:30 and I already rushed to the shower room to take a shower.
Then after maligo, drying my hair and wear my uniform and to complete everything, hinawi ko ang buhok ko at inayos ito ng medyo neat ako tinignan then after everything huminto muna ako to scanned my room that field with mini planes collection na yung iba ay mga larian ko pa before.
Bata pa lang ako ay mahilig na ako sa mga sasakyang panghimpapawid. I get it from my lolo, he's a retired pilot. Since then, I used to being with him all the day sa bahay nila since busy sila mommy at daddy araw-araw and end up iiwan nila ako sa bahay nila lolo. That time, lolo used to told me story about his entire journey as a pilot, kinukwentuhan niya ako about sa mga experiences niya at lalo na giving me a knowledge about aircrafts and since that time nagka-interest na ako sa pagiging piluto at tinuloy ko na ngayon. I wanna be like lolo so I am her now slowly reaching our dream together.
"Captain Denn Kyjie Fierro on his way to school" bumangad ni Kylie at kakababa ko lang then mum looked at me with an amusing smile.
"Good morning captain" Mom greeted and never fade her smile.
I just smiled at them at hindi na nag-abalang umupo pa since I'm not hugry to join them eating breakfast.
I looked at dad na tahimik na kumakain, I just smiled at hindi na tinuloy na batiin siya.
"I gotta go" Aniko, tsaka ako tumalikod at naglakad papalayo sa kanila.
I immediately opened my matte black Mercedes AMG GT 63 S at dumiretso na sa Del Vega University.
While slowly driving, bigla nalang may nag overtake and it was a lincoln mkz mid-size. Nagulat ako sa bilis ng pagmamaniho niya. The car drove the same way as mine kaya naabutan ko ang kotse niya, mas nagulat ako at agad itong pumasok sa parking lot ng DVU at agad naman akong sumunod at maka pwesto ng parking na malapit sa kanya.
We both stopped our car, pero hindi muna ako bumaba at hinintay siyang makababa para kilalalin kung sino ang nagmamaneho at nag overtake sa'akin. As the driver's door opened and then I can see the foot step outside then finally the whole body got out so I looked closely.
Agad nahulog ang panga ko sa gulat and it was Hera, ang nagmamaneho sa lincoln mkz mid-size na bigla bigla nalang nag overtake without signal. Agad naman akong bumaba at padabog na sinira ang pinto ng kotse ko and that made her turned to face me.
"Tsk tsk, overtaking without any signal that may lead you to accident" I consoled her and I heaved a sighed.
Tinignan niya lang ako, frowned her brows then rolled her eyes sabay talikod at naglakad palayo.
"You stubborn lady" Nakangising sabi ko, loud enough that may reach her.
Placing my both hand sa pocket ng slacks ko at naglakad kasunod niya. Nasa hindi kalayuan ko lang siya at naglakad ng tahimik.
"Stop following me!" Biglang sabi niya pero patuloy sa paglalakad.
"Hindi kita sinusundan" Saad ko
"Yes you are" She insisted.
"I'm not..."
Bigla nalang siyang huminto at napahinto din ako, hinarap niya ako na nakakunot ang noo niya at masama akong tinignan.
"What?" I furrowed my brows
"You are following me!" Madiing sabi niya.
"I told you I'm not following you" Saad ko naman, keeping my voice low.
"Then what are you doing? Bakit ka nakasunod sa'akin ngayon?!" She said stubbornly.
"Parehas tayo ng building ng pupuntahan, you're a tourism student and I'm a pilot student both aviation so natural na parehas tayo ng pupuntahan" I explained. My voice was low and hoarse.
She curled her lip, rolled her eyes at tinalikuran ako agad naglakad ng tuloyan.
Natatawa nalang ako sa pagiging short-tempered niya, mukhang ang sarap niyang asarin all the time.
Our class started in the morning, it was all about the aircraft, navigation and principle of flight. All of that is my favorite so basically I have a higher grades of the rest of our subject.
After class, lumabas na kami and I decided to meet Zarek and Von para sa laro namin ngayon. Pagka baba ko galing sa floor naming mga pilot students and then sa floor ng mga tourism students. Tahimik na naglalakad and hearing their voices from their class. Pero sa isang boses lang ako natigilan.
"...of course, I want to be a flight attendant not because some people find it as a trendy career but for me being a flight attendant takes dignity, confidence, courage, intelligence, hospitality, passion and heart to assure the passenger's safety in the uppermost part of the sky...."
That words from her made me stared at her while she's standing at the front of the class. Parang ibang-iba siya sa nakilala ko kahapon, from the way she talk and present herself in the front. It's just so different.
