Deep hidden currents,
riptides of desire
taking me by surprise.
I long to let them
take you too,
to invite you into my slick places;
Into the roiling turmoil of my heart
where perhaps
your siren song will soothe the storms.
Into the caverns of my longing
lit by the luminescence of possibility
but darkened by memories.
Into the swift pull, the fast flowing river,
of lust,
sweeping me from the shore
of respectable
sensible
calm
and pulling us under
in a ravenous mutual surrender
to torn clothes
and deep kisses,
fingers,
lips,
along edges vibrant with desire
drowning in the tide
of need.
You are just out of reach
I think
but there is salt in the air
foam on the waves.
Perhaps there is the breath of a question forming
that will invite you in
to me.
