"Katerina, another question" Alaric (Klaus) said while she was making coffee
"What is it?" She asked with an eye roll
"Are Selene and Damon... a thing?" He asked her and she smiled tauntingly
"I don't know" she shrugged and he glared at her harshly "I don't, they flirt a lot, he's so protective over her. I don't know if they are a 'thing' because she's kind of a one night stand person so... don't tell me you're jealous"
"No" he scoffed "I need to figure out a way to stop her from interfering in the sacrifice"
"She's stubborn, temperamental and headstrong. She won't listen to you..."
"How did she trigger her curse?" He trailed her off as he knew despite her attitude she was so pure and innocent
"I don't know... nobody does" she answered truthfully "I heard she has nightmares, I guess it's about that night"
"She has an accent" he pointed out and she sighed in annoyance
"She spent four years in a boarding school in England"
"And you say you have no idea if her and Damon are a thing?" He asked once again causing her to roll her eyes
"No" she said handing him a cup of coffee
"Well we have to know the truth about that" he said putting on his jacket "Do you think she has a love interest?"
"I just told you Selena doesn't do boyfriends" She told him and he smirked
"Good"
"Where are you going?" The doppelganger asked
"To retrieve me" He simply said
"Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"The full moon is almost upon. I've killed the witch, I have the moonstone, the doppelganger is waiting in the wings" he smirked devilishly "Oh I'm ready to break the curse"
"And why would you do that here?" She asked him dumbfounded "There's so many people that would try to stop you including Selena and you know it"
"Because I have to, it's the birth place of the doppelganger" he revealed and she frowned
"I didn't realise that was a requirement" she said
"Oh how could you? You betrayed me and fled England before i could give you the details Katerina. But i did find your birth place and slaughtered your family. So I guess we're cool" he smirked as he tucked her hair behind her ear causing her to flinch in fear
"Let's just hope Elena isn't stupid as you were" he spat and walked towards the door
"She won't. She'll die before she let's anyone she loves gets hurt" Katherine assured him "But Selena will, she'll do whatever it takes to stop you... she will literally do anything... it's not like she's a selfless person but she's stupidly reckless"
"That exactly what I'm counting on. Don't worry about Selena, I'll make sure she does nothing"he reassured her with a small smile thinking about her
"Don't be so sure"
"You can't leave until I tell you to" he compelled her and took off

The sound of Selena's ringtone woke her up from her sleep causing her to groan "What?" She snapped
"Meet me outside the Lockwood mansion" Elena demanded and Selena sighed "It's urgent"
Selena washed her face and brushed her teeth before wearing her clothes making her way to the Lockwood mansion to seeElena's car parked near the house
"Oh hey Elena you said-" She trailed off when she saw Elijah sitting beside Elena in the car "Oh... hey"
"Hello, Selena" he greeted with a smile as he knew she had nothing to do with their plan about daggering him
"You look... well" she commented when she sat on the back seat
"You need our help to kill Klaus and we need you" Elena told the Original as her ohone started buzzing
"I bet it's your boyfriend" Selena teased as Elena glared at her causing her to chuckle
"Where are you? Are you okay?" Stefan inquired desperately through the phone as Elijah and Selena shared a look
"We're fine. Thanks for asking" Selena muttered sarcastically causing Damon's eyes to widen in surprise
"Leenie? What the hell are you doing there?" He asked looking at his brother who shrugged
"Where's Elijah?" Stefan asked Elena
"He's right here" she answered looking at the Original
"Where? I'm on my way" Stefan told her
"No Stefan we need some time alone" Elena dismissed and Selena snatched the phone from her sister's hand
"I got this thank you" Selena smiled at her before placing the phone in her ear
"Listen to me, Leenie. He can't be trusted. He'll use you to het to Klaus" Stefan told her and she sighed
"Look Stef, Dae. We're gonna be fine okay? Elijah is a nobleman and he keeps his words. I don't care if you trust him but Elena does. So please just respect our decision... Thank you, please don't let Damon do anything stupid" she pleaded causing Damon to look at his brother in disbelief
"It's our decision, Stefan. Please respect it" Elena told him
Elijah stared at Selena in awe, he knew that she didn't fully trust him but this was a head start. She handed him the phone as she looked at him with a fearful look
"He's here" Selena told him causing him to frown
"Klaus' here?" He asked and they nodded
"He's taken over Alaric's body" Elena revealed
"Of course he has. One of his favourite tricks" Elijah simply said but anger lacing his tone causing Selena to scoff
"Well I was impressed. That's how he knew our plan... can't say he isn't clever" Selena said "I should have known. I knew I felt something"
"You can't blame yourself, Selena" Elijah told her and she sighed in frustration
"Well, what are his other tricks? What he's going to do next? You're the only one who knows him"
Selena, Elijah and Elena stood in front of the Lockwood house, he rang the bell and Carol opened the door with a confused look
"Selena?" Carol asked before looking at the Original and the doppelganger "Elijah! Elena! What are you doing here? What happened?"
"I've had a bit of an incident, Carol. I'm hoping you could help" Elijah told her with a small smile
"Well I'm on my way to a meeting so-"
"We won't take but a minute of your time" He compelled her causing Selena to glare at him in disbelief
"Of course. Anything you need" Carol smiled causing Selena to glare harshly at the Original
"Well first things first. I'm going to need a change of clothing" he said as he entered their room with the girls following him
"Well, we can try one of my husband's suits. I haven't boxed them up yet"
"Wonderful" he smiled at her gratefully as she walked upstairs causing Selena to turn to Elijah with an angry scowl
"Did you just compel her?" She snapped at him and he looked at her apologetically
"How did you know she's not on vervain?" Elena asked
"Cause I'm the one who got her off it. Right before you and yor friends killed me... twice" He told them causing Selena to scowl
"I didn't know they were going to kill you or dagger you or whatever was that. But you didn't have to compel her" she spat and he looked away in guilt. Carol was always nice to Selena and treated her like a daughter
"If you'll excuse me. I'll be done in a moment" he told them and she faked a smile
"You're excused"
Few moments later he joined them with a new suit causing Selena to roll her eyes in annoyance "So I assume the Martin witches are no longer with us?" He asked
"No I'm sorry" Elena apologised
"And Katerina? she would be released from my compulsion when I died" he told them
"Klaus took her, we think that she may be dead" Selena muttered quietly
"I doubt that, not Klaus's style. Death would be too easy for her after what she did" Elijah stated and Selena scoffed
"Let me get this straight. She wanted to live, she didn't want to die. Is that a crime now? Oh wait yes I should be grateful because I'm his soulmate right?" She asked sarcastically "Because he's not gonna kill me... why are you even helping me?"
"Selena I know that you don't trust me..."
"I don't even know you... maybe one day I will"
"I don't understand, you say that you want Klaus dead but you still made Katherine pay for betraying him" Elena said with a confused frown
"I have my own reasons for wanting Katerina to pay" He told them "There was a time I'd have done anything for Klaus. Yes Klaus is my brother"
"I know" Selena said and they looked at her in surprise "I'm his soulmate, I saw flashbacks about his life... I saw you in them so I put the pieces together"
"I'm still processing it" Elena said
"Yes I'm a little behind on the times but I believe the term you are searching for is OMG" He said sarcastically and took a sip of his tea as Selena snorted

"There's a whole family of Originals?" Elena asked
"My father was a wealthy land owner in a village in the eastern Europe. Our mother bore seven children" He revealed as Selena smiled down remembering the flashbacks
"So your parents were humans?"
"Our whole family were, our origin as vampires is a very long story... We're the oldest vampires in the world" he stated "We're the Original family and from us all vampires were created"
"Elijah... he's your brother. I mean I'm not defending him or anything but do you want him dead?" Selena asked even when she didn't admit it a part of her didn't want him dead
"I need some air, I'm feeling a tad... dead" he told them "Come"
"So as you've seen nothing can kill an Original. Not sun, not fire, not even a werewolf bite. Only a wood from one tree, a tree my family made sure burned" He informed them as they walked outside, Selena looped her arm around Elena's
Selena knew Klaus was a remorseless monster and he had done terrible things but she still didn't know if she wanted him dead. She knew she was betraying her friend and family by thinking like that but she couldn't help it
"That's where the white ash for the dagger comes from" Elena said
"Yes the witches won't allow anything truly immortal to walk the earth, Every creature needs to have a weakness in order to maintain balance" Elijah explained to them
"But wait... if the sun can't kill an Original or anything really. Why is Klaus so obsessed of breaking the sun and the moon curse?" Selena asked in confusion
"Right. The curse of the sun and the moon. It's so... biblical sounding don't you think?" Elijah asked them with a smirk
"What's so funny?" Elena asked and he went to explain how he and Klaus faked the sun and the moon curse
"Klaus and I faked the sun and the moon curse dating back over a thousand years ago" Elijah told them as their eyes widened in shock
"But if there's no curse..." Selena began but Elijah cut her off
"There's a curse. Just not that one, The real one is much worse. It's a curse placed on Klaus"
"What are you talking about?" Elena asked him
"Klaus has been dying to find two things for a thousand years. One of them is breaking the curse and you were his only hope"
"What's the second thing" Elena asked
"Please tell me I'm not the second thing" Selena pleaded desperately and he nodded "Yay me... so what's this curse?"
"Your phone will not stop it's incessant buzzing" he handed the doppelganger her phone "Answer it please"
"Klaus went after Jenna. I have to go to her" Elena informed them
"Oh my god"
"You stay with Elijah. I'll be back"
"I'm afraid that wasn't part of today's arrangement" Elijah spoke up
"I'll be back. You have my word" She promised him "Selena I got this... just stay here"
"You know there was a time when I thought there was still a chance you would be Klaus' redemption but I'm afraid it's too late" he said when Elena left and Selena nodded sadly
"He's been waiting for you for a thousand years even if he doesn't admit that" Elijah told her and she looked down "He thinks you're-"
"Innocent? Selfless? Kindhearted? Compassionate?... pure?" She asked with a mocking tone "I hate to disappoint"
"He thinks you're he's salvation" he corrected and she remained silent for a few seconds
"You know when... I triggered my curse. I started dreaming about him, I thought it was normal, that everyone can see him or at least see someone when they trigger their curses but I asked Mason and he told me that he doesn't dream about anyone that no one dreams about anyone... So I kept it to myself, and when you told me that he's my soulmate it made sense. I didn't want to believe it first. I mean I have a psycho soulmate who wants to sacrifice my sister" she chuckled nervously "I saw his life, your father abused him. I know that I shouldn't care but..."
"And you hate yourself for it" Elijah finished for her as she looked at him with teary eyes
She didn't want to justify Klaus' actions but deep down she understood why he was doing this, he spent a thousand years trying to break the curse, to be truly him. To be free from something he spent a thousand years denied for because of somebody else's mistake
"I mean I should be happy that I have a soulmate right?" She asked with a shaky voice "He wants to kill my sister and friends... and probably kill me if I do something he doesn't like" she muttered and wiped her tears "I'm fine really. Excuse me I just need some air"

"I'm back" Elena said as she entred the Lockwood house only to see Elijah standing alone "Where's Leenie?"
"Welcome back" he greeted them "She's-"
"I'm here" she joined them with a weak smile
"Are you okay?" Elijah asked her and ahe nodded
"Yeah... thank you"
"Tell us what's Klaus's curse?"
"Our family was quite close but Klaus and my father did not get too well. When we became vampires we discovered the truth. Klaus was not my father's son, my mother had been unfaithful many years before. This was her darkest secret, he hunted down and killed my mother's lover and his entire family. Not realising of course he ignited a war between the species that rages until this day" he explained to them
"A war between the species?" Elena asked him
"The vampires and the ... Werewolves"
"So Klaus was a werewolf" Selena muttered in disbelief "It all make sense now"
"So what that make Klaus? A vampire or a werewolf?" Elena asked cautiously
"He's both" the Original answered
"I remember something when I first triggered my curse... his eyes were yellow amber and he was in pain... you and your father I guess chained him as he was screaming for help... Maybe I was just imagining things I guess" Selena said as she chuckled nervously
Elijah stared at her shocked and he cleared his throat saying "A hybrid would be deadlier than any werewolf or vampire. Nature would not stand for such an imbalance of power. Therefore the witches, the servants of nature saw to it that my brother's werewolf side would become dormant"
"Wait... that's the real curse. He wants to trigger that part of him right? He wants to be a true hybrid. Doesn't he?" She asked and Elijah smiled down at her
"Clever girl... Yes if he triggers that part of him that's a werewolf. if allowed Klaus would sire his own bloodline, he'll built his own race. Endangering not just vampires but everyone"
"But you helped him" Elena stated
"I helped him because I loved him" he told her "That changed now he must die"
"We have the dagger now we can stop him" Elena spoke up hopefully
"That won't work on him. If it did, Elijah would have daggered him ages ago" Selena stated with a 'Duh' tone
"When a werewolf is wounded by silver, it heals. An Origina can't be killed by anything but white oak ash on a silver dagger. So you see the conundrum. The dagger does not work"
"What are you saying? Klaus cannot be killed?" Elena asked with a fearful look
"Great" Selena murmured under her breath sarcastically "Our life couldn't go any better"
"There's one way to kill supernatural species at the hand of servants nature themselves" he told them
"A witch" she muttered "If they can channel that much power but it could kill them"
"The curse must be broke during the full moon. When Klaus is in transition, that's when he'll be at his most vulnerable. A witch with enough power... can kill Klaus" he explained and the girls shared a look
"What if we told you that we know a witch that could channel that much power?" Elena told him and Selena shook her head in denial
"Elena-"
"Then I will tell you there's one more thing that you should know" he told them about how he created an elixir that can save Elena's life
"You found a way to save the life of the doppelganger" Elena asked in disbelief
"Yes I did but unfortunately Katerina took matters in her own hands first. You already know how that played out" he told them like it was kind of warning
"You cared about her didn't you?" Elena realized
"A common mistakes I'm told. It's one I won't make again" he said coldly as he handed her jacket
And all of sudden Selena gasped for air. She felt her heart stop for few seconds
"Oh my God! what's wrong with her?" Elena panicked as she and Elijah rushed to her side
"Selena try to calm down and breath. In and out" he told her as she copied his motions. And after few seconds her breathing went back to normal.
"I literally felt my heart stopped" She placed a hand on her chest towards her heart

Selena left the house to take a walk, she felt too suffocated. She was walking towards the Grill while tears streaming down her cheeks, she didn't know what to think anymore
She pulled out her phone and dialed Caroline's number before placing the phone in her ear "Care hey!"
"Leenie, are you okay?" She asked worriedly "What's wrong?"
"No" she shook her head tearfully "I need to talk to someone"
"Of course. I'll come and stay with you tonight" Caroline assured her
"Okay" she hung up only to bump onto a hard chest causing her to step back and he wrapped his arm around her waist so she could not fall. She felt sparks when he touched her and she immediately knew who
"Careful, love" he spoke huskily with a thick accent and she immediately stepped back wiping her tears
"What do you want?" She asked with a shaky voice "This has been a really rough day so please do me a favor and leave me alone"
"Are you alright?" He asked worry lacing his tone as he stepped closer causing her to step back
"I'm fine" she raised her hands up stopping him from coming any further "Why are you here?"
"Selene-"
"Selena" she corrected and he chuckled as his dimples were literally making her vulnerable
"I want you to stay out of trouble" he told her seriously and she chuckled bitterly
"Well I guess for starters, I should stay away from you" she stated and he stepped more closer to her with a killer smile
"I don't want to hurt you" he whispered as she felt his breath fanning her neck causing her to froze as her breath hitched "I don't want you to see what I'm capable of"
"You already did" she muttered quietly but she couldn't deny that she felt safe around him. She stared at his deep blue eyes that hypnotized her everytime she looked at them but she looked away the soon she felt the heat rising up her cheeks
"This conversation is certainly not going anywhere but it was nice talking to you" she stated qith a fake smile as her heart beats like drum and she couldn't do anything about it "I just hope I never see you again"
"Too bad, love" he smirked devilishly "Wish unfulfilled"
"Just stay away from me" she snapped and walked passed him causing him to stare back at her with a wicked smile before speeding away
She knew she should hate him, she knew she shouldn't trust him because he wants her friends dead but she couldn't help but feel there was something between them

Selena entered the Salvatore boarding house specifically to where Jenna was staying "Auntie J"
"Selena" Jenna breathed out with a weak smile
"I'm sorry" Selena said with teary eyes "I wanted to tell you so badly"
"I know... I know come here" Jenna assured her as she hugged her tightly "What's wrong? You can tell me"
"I saw him. I saw Klaus"
