(Hunter's POV)

I stood on the other side of Roy's office.

It had been five years since Ishval had been rebuilt. Furher Grumman stepped down and gave the spot of Furher to Roy, as promised.

I became Madam Furher, much to my dismay. I thought it made me sound old.

And it did.

Armstrong, Ross and Brosh stayed in Central; Armstrong was now a General.

Miles and Scar stayed in Ishval, as expected. Though I met up with them often, since Ishval wasn't too far and was accessible now.

Mustang squad split up.

Breda and Havoc now owned and worked at a bar with Rebecca, yes, THAT Rebecca. I don't even know-

Fury continued working with communications and radios in the Southern sector.

Falman went back North...

And Riza? She stayed with us.

General Armstrong stayed in the North.

I stood by a filing cabinet, looking through the files and finding the ones Roy needed.

I walked towards him, files in hand. I let out a small breath as I put the files on his desk.

He immediately shot his head up and looked at me with concern. "Are you tired? Maybe you should sit? Or go home. You can go home for the day."

He opened a drawer in his desk and pulled something out, he held it up to me. "Apple?"

I laughed at him. "Ah, no I'm alright." I kissed his forehead. "And it was just a sigh." I glanced into his drawer, he had an alarming amount of apples in there.

He smiled at me and kissed my hand. "Alright love."

Just then the door opened and someone walked. Neither of us bothered looking up, I just assumed it was someone else, like Riza or Ross.

But I was wrong-

"Furher bastard!"

My head shot up as soon as I heard the tiny voice.

My eyes widened at the tiny Ed look alike.

"You never came to visit! So I came!"

Roy's face turned pale and his eyes filled with shock. "Fullmetal?!"

I laughed at Roy's shock.

It was true, this child looked exactly like Ed. From the hair to the red cloak and black clothing. He was the spitting image of Ed.

I looked up when I heard Ed's laugh enter the room.

He picked the child up. "I can't believe you fell for that."

I smiled at both Ed and his son.

"How have you two been?" He broke the silence between us.

I walked out from behind the desk and pulled Ed into a hug. "Good to see you kid."

"Good to see you too." He smiled.

"Winry told me you were expecting. How far along are you?" He sat himself and his son down on the couch that laid in the middle of the room.

I smiled. "Two month."

"Two months and should be resting, or going home." Roy butted in.

"Knox and Marcoh said I was fine to work." I argued.

"Knox and Marcoh aren't prenatal doctors." He argued back.

"But they're doctors, not to mention I have a degree now."

Ed's laugh filled the room again. "Good to see you two haven't changed at all." He smiled at us. "I'm glad."

I chuckled with him.

"So how's married life treating you?" He eyed both us.

Roy and I shared a glance, and then he smiled. "Just as I always imagined it, wonderful."

His smile made my heart flutter with excitement.

I sat myself on the armrest of Roy's chair. "So how's Winry?"

Ed took a breath. "Oh, she's due any day now." He thought a moment.

"Is that why you're back so early?" Roy wrapped his arm around my back, resting his hand on my thigh.

"Yup. She's resting at the hotel right now."

"You know you two are welcomed to stay at the Estate." I offered.

"Eh." Ed rubbed his neck. "We wouldn't want to intrude."

"Nonsense! You're always welcomed there!"

He just laughed nervously.

Roy grabbed my hand, making me look at him. "They're not kids anymore."

I rolled my eyes. "Nonetheless, Devlin Estate is always home to you, should you ever need it."

Ed smiled. "Thank you. I appreciate that."

I smiled. "And where's Al?"

Ed sighed. "Still in Xing, though he should be home any week now." He looked back at us. "Enjoy the letters and pictures I sent?"

Roy nodded. "We did."

I just smiled in agreement.

"And how's Philip?" He wondered about our son.

I smiled. "He's doing great."

Roy nodded. "We just celebrated his second birthday."

"Oh that's right. I received the photos." He laughed at himself. "Unfortunately, he looks like you Furher." Ed teased him.

I watched as annoyance grew on Roy's face. "I see you're still outspoken, Fullmetal."

Roy and Ed continued talking, I tuned them out and watched Ed's son explore Roy's office.

I smiled, suddenly Ed stood up and called his son over. "I should get back to Winry."

I got up and followed Ed to the door. "When are you leaving again?"

He looked at me, holding his sons hand. "Not for a while probably. Winry'll need help with the baby. Oh! And Al's bringing Mai back with him."

"Oohh are they?..."

He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know."

"Okay well, nice seeing you kid. You have our phone number, if you need anything." I smiled.

"I know." He turned to leave but then stopped. "Say, General?"

"Hm?"

"I'm curious, why do you still call me kid?"

I stared at him for a moment. "Buccaneer's nickname for me was kid."

He paused but then smiled. "Then I'm happy to carry on the nickname."

I smiled at him and then turned my gaze onto the smaller Elric.

I held my hand out. "Come visit soon okay?"

He weakly shook my hand and nodded, not really wanting to converse with me.

I straightened myself out.

"He's shy." Ed glared at his smaller version, annoyed that he didn't bother speaking.

I laughed. "It's alright. See you around." I sent the pair off.

I now stood with Riza who guarded Roy's office.

"Are you tired?" She turned to me.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh not you too."

She chuckled lightly. "The Furhers always a mess when you're sick, I'm just making sure you're healthy."

"I'm fine." I reassured her. "No ones getting sick."

"Has Miles come home?" She changed the topic.

I thought a moment. "Not since last month. Why?"

She shrugged. "He's usually home at this time."

"Oohh." I leaned closer to her.

She sighed, knowing exactly what I was implying.

"If you want, I can set something up." I teased her.

"No."

"Miles and I best friends. It won't be hard to convince him." I winked.

She laughed and pushed me away lightly. "No, I'm fine."

I laughed with her. "Well alright, but don't be shy to ask."

"You're ridiculous, Madam Furher." She shook her head.

I groaned loudly hearing the title. She knew I hated it and used it to tease me.

I walked back into the room and made my way back to Roy's side.

"Are you still trying to set the Major up?" He flipped through the report.

I nodded.

"And how's that going?"

I pouted. "Not well."

He laughed at me.

He guided me to sit on his lap. "You're not a very good match maker." He kissed my cheek.

"How dare you? I am." I argued back.

He chuckled.

I wrapped my arm around his shoulders and relaxed my head against his. "I am tired."

"You should go home then. Philip will be happy to spend the afternoon with you." He grabbed my hand.

I hummed. "Maybe I should."

He ran his hand up my thigh. "Orrr... you could stay.. just a little bit longer."

I laughed at his gesture. "Maybe I should get going."

I moved off his lap but he pulled me back. "No. No. No. No. No. We already started." He kissed my ear.

I chuckled. "You mean YOU already started."

He chuckled with me. "Exactly."

He hummed closely to my ear. "You know I was thinking about my proposal to you."

"Ya?"

He hummed quietly. "Ya, I was thinking about how I was so nervous I almost threw up."

We both chuckled at his confession.

"But I felt calm when you looked at me." He smiled into my ear. "Plus, you were already mine."

Just then the door opened and Breda and Havoc walked in.

Havoc stopped. "Woah, are we interrupting?"

"I didn't know being the Furher had perks." Breda joined him.

Roy and I laughed, I slid off the Roy's lap.

He sighed in disappointment.

"I can't sit on your lap with them here."

He gaze up at me, all innocent like. "But you can."

"Oh ya, don't mind us." Breda spoke sarcastically.

The pair visited a while before leaving again.

I ended up staying at the office for the rest of the day.

I talked to Fury over the phone for a while after I got home. He was also happy to find out about my pregnancy and promised he'd come down in a few days, apparently he had news for us too.

I found Miles and Philip in the sitting room. I plopped myself down beside him. "I didn't know you made it back home."

He placed Philip in between us. "I got in this evening."

"How's Ishval these days?" I watched as Philip played Miles' dog tags.

"Fine. Even better than when you left it." He smiled.

"Hey that's great!" I cheered, pulling Philip closer.

"And how are you? I hear you're expecting again." He smiled at me.

I chuckled. "Let me guess, the Babins told you?"

He nodded. "They did. They're so excited they couldn't keep it to themselves."

I laughed lightly. "Of course."

"Well that's wonderful, I'm happy for you." He congratulated me.

We continued talking until one of the wet nurses came and got Philip. I parted ways with Miles and walked back to my room.

I laid back on the bed and glanced at the clock. 7:30.

"He's late." I growled.

Suddenly Falman busted through the door, he was visibly out of breath.

"You're late." I looked at him.

"I know, I know, I'm sorry." He walked towards the bed.

I shifted to the other side, making room for him.

He sat down. "I was getting Saar settled in at the house." He explained.

"How is Saar?" I asked as he laid beside me.

Turns out Buccaneer had a sister no one knew about. They lost touch with each other. We only met her because I had to give Buccaneers stuff to her when we found out she was next of kin.

She was nice enough to let me have a few of his things after founding out how close we were. I was grateful for that.

I introduced Falman to Saar, seeing that he was sad that night he visited me in the hospital. They hit it off great and they ended up together shortly after he transferred back north, he now works at northern HQ.

"She's doing great." He answered.

I turned my gaze to the ceiling. "We should have dinner together while you guys are here."

His face lit up. "Oh! We'd love that. She's been wanting to see you."

"Aw, I've been wanting to see her too. I missed her." I smiled. She wasn't Buccaneer but they had similar personalities.

There was silence between us.

Since Falman transferred back North our Friday ritual turned into a phone ritual, but it wasn't the same.

We agreed on him coming home or me going up North at least once a month to visit each other.

"So.." He broke the silence. "You're gonna be an aunt."

"What?!" I sat up, surprise on my face. "Seriously?!" I looked at him.

This big goofy smile grew on his face, he proudly nodded.

"Vato! That's great!" I threw my arm around him.

He laughed. "Thanks. I'm excited."

"I am too!" I shouted. "I'm so happy for you two!" I laid back down. "Now I'm even more excited to see Saar."

"Did you tell Roy?" I looked at him.

"Nope. You're the first one I wanted to tell and I was too excited to stop by the study to talk to him."

I smiled, feeling honoured that he wanted to tell me first.

"What about you? Thinking of having any more kids?"

I patted my stomach. "I'm actually two months."

"What?!" He turned to me. "Really? Why didn't you tell me?"

I chuckled. "I wanted to tell you in person."

"Huh. So Philip's going to have brother, or a sister." He smiled. "That's great."

Silence fell between us.

Until he spoke up. "Do you remember what you said about you and Roy? When I asked you how you felt about?"

I thought a moment. "I said a lot of things about Roy."

Falman laughed. "After the promised day, you said, when you're in love, like really IN love. It's this experience where you don't need them but life is not as fun or as amazing without them around. And when you're not together, you feel numb, but when you are together, you feel everything."

I smiled remembering my own words.

"I get it now." He looked at me. "I still remember that, after all these years."

I chuckled softly. "I'm glad you found your person."

"Well, she's not my person, you are." He held up his hand, showing me an engagement ring. "She's my one."

I smiled even more. "And you proposed." I chuckled. "You're just full of surprises."

He laughed. "I guess I am."

"You're my person too Vato."

He visited for a while and then left to meet up with Saar.

It was now 9:30 and I sat with Philip in my lap, I rocked us back and forth in a rocking chair.

I watched as he sleepily played with my Buccaneer necklace.

I spoke softly to him. "You would've loved him. He would've been your favourite uncle." I hummed in between sentences.

"Your older brother would've love him too. I'm sure they keep each other company."

I adjust my arm underneath him. "You would've loved your uncle Hughes too and your grandma Ruth. I'm sure Greed and Fu would've liked you as well." I continued humming.

I chuckled. "You're very likeable." I watched as he fell asleep. I kissed his forehead gently, not wanting to wake up him.

I rested my forehead against his. I love you so much.

Roy walked in just as I put Philip into his crib.

He stood next to me, resting his arm around my shoulders. He took my hand and whispered. "Our boy."

I glanced up at Peter's picture, Philip's picture hung next to it.

I followed Roy out of the room, he closed the door gently behind us.

He grabbed my hand and guided me back to our bedroom.

(Roy's POV)

I woke with the sun hitting my face.

I squinted as the harsh light entered my eyes. I glanced at the drawn back curtains, I groaned resting my head back on the pillow. Why did I leave the curtain open?

Suddenly I felt movement next to me.

I glanced and found Hunter nestled to the side of me, head rested on my chest.

A look of peace and content on her face, followed by a bit of drool.

I chuckled quietly, not wanting to ruin the moment.

Love filled my eyes the longer I stared and I smiled. A sense of peace washed over me and warmth wrapped around us.

Finally everything was fine.

Everything was as it should be, as they should've been from the beginning.

No more Homunculi, no other enemies.

No Rebecca.

I had a family, a family I had always wanted.

And we were married, finally.

Our love story was messy and long, and confusing and very very infuriating, but here we are, together. Against all the odds, we were here and we were alive, together.

I had the family I always wanted and I was Furher.

Hunter was fine. No more running, no more leaving and no more hospitals.

I felt nothing but gratitude.

I tightened my grip around her and pulled myself closer. I took a breath in and slowly let it out.

"Finally."
