I was late to class because I had to go to a meeting with my dad to discuss pack matters, I wasn't really paying attention to what was being said because I couldn't stop thinking about my mate.
Why was she trying to kill herself?
I almost ended up not going to school but I'm glad I did because when I walked in class the beautiful scent of my mate calmed the dizziness my wolf made me feel ever since I met her.
When she looked at me she had this cute shocked expression even though her hair was covering half of her face I still could tell she was shocked.
My wolf purred clearly pleased at his mates well being. I ignored him and handed Miss Brown a piece of paper paper with an excuse to why I was late.
After giving her the paper I looked at my mate and frowned. I could tell that there was something bothering her. She looked tired and not just physically.
"Hey over here Chase" Alice said with her high pitched voice which made my ears bleed.
All the attraction I felt for her disappeared the moment I saw my mate but I was gonna resist the mate bond for as long as I can even if this caused dizziness.
I ignored the urge to go towards my mate and headed toward Alice instead.
I sat down next to Alice and Miss Brown continued with the lesson. I couldn't help but eavesdrop on my mate and sisters conversation.
I was shocked when she said Alice was her sister they looked nothing alike. I decided to stop listening on their conversation because I don't want to strengthen the mate bond and by thinking about her I'd be doing just that but when I heard her giggle I couldn't help but look at her. The urge to go to her got stronger. To touch her.
It was finally lunch and i was walking with my friends to our table.
"So how's your girlfriend, is she good in bed? She must be i bet she's had lots of practise". Jake, my beta and friend said.
"Are you calling my girlfriend a slut". I said chuckling not even slightly bothered.
"What do you think". He asks with a 'are you stupid' look I just ignored him and sat down at our table.
Our conversation was cut short when my mate showed up in the cafeteria with Adeline.
I should really find out her name. Calling her mate feels intimate.
I could tell that they were coming to our table because her scent was getting closer, stronger making my hands twitch. The need to touch her was becoming overbearing.
"Hey guys this is my friend Gem" she said.
Gem huh, for some reason I didn't like her name. It didn't fit her.
"That's the girl who is named after a rock you keep blabbering about" Jake said earning a few chuckles.
I growled at what he said but low enough for only werewolves to hear. Jake just looked at me with curious eyes, I bet it wouldn't take long for him to put two and two together.
I couldn't help but stare at her and i blame the mate bond for that. After a few minutes Alice came and sat on my lap. She looked at Gem with such venom it had me wondering if they were really sisters.
"What is this slut doing here" she said pointing her finger at Gem.
"That's priceless coming from you" Adeline scoffs earning whistles from the boys at the table.
"Not that it's any of your business but I brought her here, got a problem with that" Adeline said shooting daggers at Alice.
"Ooh I did not know you allow prostitutes at this table, did she tell you that's she's a prostitute, did she tell you she slept with one of my dad's friends just yeasterday" she said with an evil smirk.
"Is that true Gem?" I asked her, i wont lie that hurt me slightly i quickly replaced that with digust.
She started panicking.
"I...I, H-he wouldn't stop" she trys to say but ends up bursting into tears.
I remove Alice from my lap as her touch starts hurting earning a glare from her. The urge to comfort Gem makes me shift from my seat as I nervously watch her cry.
She runs out of the cafeteria. Alice just laughed as if she didn't just make her sister cry. Adeline left, probably going to help her.
I kept glaring at the cafeteria door. My wolf kept urging me to go after her. I felt dizzy.
"Dude can I talk to you for a sec" Jake says breaking the uncomfortable silence. "Um sure" i said still feeling dizzy.
Stupid mate bond
We went to go stand outside the cafeteria making sure we were far from the hearing rang of the werewolves that were in the cafeteria. I leaned against the wall so that I don't fall because I'm still feeling dizzy.
"What's up" i said.
"She's your mate isn't she".
"Who Alice" I knew who he was referring to but I would avoid this conversation as much as possible.
"You know who I'm taking about".
I sigh.
"Yes, Gem is my mate but don't tell anyone just yet".
"Why?" he asked looking rather confused.
"You know I don't want a mate. My priorities have always been towards being Alpha, not having a mate.....you know this. But i need her in order to be Alpha"
"That's messed up, you are being selfish you know that right. So when are you gonna tell everyone" he said looking disappointed.
"I'll tell them soon enough just not now. Gem doesn't even know werewolves exsist. I have to first tell her that before I tell everyone she's my mate and-" before I could finish Adeline interrupted me.
"Oh my goddess Gem is you mate" she screamed.
"Adeline keep it down will yah and yes she is my mate" I said glaring at her.
"So when were you planning on telling your one and only sister".
"The day I tell everyone else". I said rolling my eyes. This is why I didn't want to tell her now she is gonna bother me about it.
"He doesn't want her as a mate Ad so don't bother getting excited". Jake said rolling his eyes at my sisters reaction.
"WHAT!! Why would you reject her" she said looking at me straight in the eye with a straight face.
"You know i can't reject her Ad. Im not suicidal although i dont want her i need her to become Alpha unfortunately" I said calming her down before she explodes.
She walks closer to me and slaps me.
"How could you use her like that. Why are you being so selfish you are only thinking about you and how you will become Alpha. What about her, she is your mate for goddess sake. Loving her is what you were made to do." She screamed angrily at my face.
"You don't have the right to tell me what to do especially when it comes to MY mate. She is MINE." I say coldly daring her to go against me.
I growl warning her to shut up when she makes an attempt to speak.
The bell rang so I went to class ignoring Jake and Adeline.
