"Spencer" you grabbed on to the fabric of his thigh as watched the traffic ahead of you begin to flow heavier
"If I go any faster we will crash" his grip on the wheel got tighter and his knuckles began to turn white
"Spencer" you said in the most soothing tone as you could and rubbed your hand lightly up and down
"Yeah"
"We are in a government issued vehicle" a very condescending tone left your mouth. Your nails dug into his skin as another wave of pain came across you "Turn on the god damn siren and get me to that hospital NOW"
"Right I should do that" he whispered a panicked voice under his breath
You pulled out your phone and looked through your contacts until you found Emily's. You stupidly forgot to save your doctors number but gratefully had Emily to save the day
"Y/n where did you and Spencer go"
"Call Ally and tell her that my water broke" you groaned in pain "Tell her that my contractions are five minuets apart"
"Wait wha-"
"Emily NOW" you hung up your phone and threw it in the back seat
"Calm down we are almost there" Spencer's eyes widened when he realized that he told you to calm down. There was a long pause of silence, he knew you were giving him the death glare "Please don't kill me"

You were now laying in a hospital bed and holding on to Spencer's hand while your doctor checked how dilated you were
"Y/n it's time to push" she began to page some nurses and started to prep a table sitting next to her
"But she isn't due yet"
"Well this baby decided to meet her parents earlier than planned" she flashed you a big smile but all you could do was panic
"No I can't push yet" sweat was dripping down your face and you turned to look at Spencer
"Baby I know your scared but it's okay we got you" he took the washcloth in his hand and lightly dabbed it across your forehead
"No I can't please no" you begged
"Yes you can" he grabbed a chair and sat besides you
"She's not safe out in the real world. She's safe in here where Cat can't get to her" you looked down
"Y/n look at me"
"What if someone takes her" your voice cracked and tears were about to trickle down your face
"Look at me"
"You out of all people know the statistics what if-"
"Y/n" Spencer looped his fingers with yours and lifted them to his face
"No one is taking anyone. I will make sure that Cat will never lay a finger on you or this child. I promise that I will do everything I can to keep my family safe. Okay" He kissed your hand and wiped your tears
You whimpered and took a deep breath. "Okay"
Hours passed by. Everything felt like it was going in slow motion and the pain was endless. No amount of mommy books or blogs or classes could have every prepared you for the hours of intense pain and labor.
"We can see the top of her head" a nurse called out
"You are almost there baby just breathe" Spencer's eyes were away from you and trying to look at what was happening down below
"Don't tell me to breathe, you breathe" you held onto his hand as you pushed
"Shit" he muttered under his breath when you squeezed his hand
"Spencer I swear if that was a complaint I will kill you" you threw your head back into the hospital bed "And I will make sure it's real this time"
"One more big push" Ally encouraged
With one last push you felt ecstatic but something was wrong, Ally's smile quickly turned into a frown "What's wrong"
She hadn't said a word
"Why can't I hear her crying" you begged for an answer once you felt the energy drop and silence was the only thing that filled the room"Doctor Taylor what's happening" you cried out
"The umbilical cord is wrapped around her neck" you could barely see anything when she took your baby to the small station with supplies
"What" you lifted you head and tried to move but it was too painful "Spencer what's happening" you looked at him for answers but the grip on your hand loosened and he was now standing trying to see what was going on without leaving your side
"Okay this is your time to speak what's happening" you pulled on his hand
"I-I don't know" He let go and ran his hands through his hair
"Spencer" you pleaded for him to give you an answer you knew he didn't have
"I'm here" he leaned over the bed and pressed his forehead against yours "I'm here"
You wanted him to promise you that it was going to be ok but you knew that he couldn't. Neither of you knew what was happening and all you could do was wait and watch as multiple nurses and doctors surrounded your baby. Touching and holding her before you could. That was until you head a faint cry.
"There we go" Ally cooed as she walked over with your new born. A sigh of relief left your mouth and you held your arms out and finally got a hold of your baby girl
"She's beautiful" You could feel your heart leap out of your chest when you saw that your baby was healthy and alive. The tears that rolled down your face were now happy tears. You had the greatest loves of your life with you. All the fears you had just faded away and all you could do was focus on this moment.
"Hey pumpkin" Spencer cooed as he lightly stroked the little girl in your hands
Despite the pain you felt you scooted over to the side and let Spencer sit on the bed with you. He quickly wrapped one arm around you and the other played with the baby's little fingers
"Wow what a strong grip" the tiniest hand you had seen was now holding on to Spencer's finger
You turned your head to look at Spencer. You watched his eyes glow as they moved from the baby to you. Smiles and happy tears now filled the room. He leaned in and kissed your lips softly.
"Here" you said as you pulled away and handed Spencer his daughter.
She cooed and Spencer opened his mouth the speak "I missed watching you grow these last couple of months" he kissed her small forehead and whispered "Just know that I will never leave you. Ever again"
You rested your head on his shoulder and enjoyed the feeling of your family laying with you. That was until more family came.
"Is that my new angel" you heard Penelope whisper and she stood in the doorway
"Come in" Spencer stood up with your little baby in hand
"She looks just like you" she tip toed over
"I know" both you and Spencer announced
The both of you looked back at each other and raised a brow but then looked back to Penelope. Before you knew it one by one the team had come in to say their hi's and congratulations. Rossi was the last to go but before he left the doorway you asked a favor.
"Tell Hotch to come meet his god daughter"
Rossi gave you a nod and moments later Hotch appeared in the doorway with a snooping JJ lingering behind
"JJ come in here too" Spencer called out
She looked at you for approval and you gave her a small nod. Once they both stepped towards the bed Spencer handed your newborn to Hotch and watched a rare view in front of you. He smiled and JJ watched the sleeping baby over Hotch's shoulder and turned to look at you and Spencer.
"What's her name"
You reached out and took a hold of Spencer's hand. He looked down at you and smiled. Then returned his glance to JJ.
"Melanie Diana Reid"
