Rome was burning
As he played his lyre
Hungry for more
After lighting the fire.
Enchanting the masses
By promising more
As Nazi's and fascists
Broke down the doors.
Place all the blame
On the traitors inside,
Hide behind fame
While vomiting lies.
Divide and conquer,
Let the casualties rise.
The mad man, the monster
Behind grey-blue eyes
Is burning it down
And blaming the others.
Give him his crown
Or more will suffer
At the hands of this man
Who proclaims law and order,
While leading his fans
To disgrace and disorder.
The poor man, the rich man,
The neighbor next door,
To him, NO lives matter,
And he's sent them to war
Against fellow humans
Against family and friends
To fight against "tyranny"
As the tyrant pretends:
"Your freedom's at stake
You are under attack!"
While the tyrant put targets
On all of their backs.
As the ship goes under
Good women and men
Drown while they wonder:
Is America
great again?
