Medicine

Your smiles used to be like medicine.


I take one,
and my illness
my pain
would disappear
in a few minutes.

Your laughter
was like medicine,
making me
feel tingly
all over.

And I'd always make sure
you'd get
a taste
of your own medicine.

But time
is told
to change everything.

You're no longer
medicine,
but a toxic concoction.

You're poison.
I can't take you anymore.

And I'll make sure
you get
a taste
of the pain
you now
cause
others.

The pain you've caused me.

Actually...
you know what?
You were
never
ever
my only medicine.
Why
waste my time
on you?
