The second part! Again, hope you all like it. I wanted to write it very in character for Luisa, fingers crossed it translates well enough (Also I felt like the last chapter was very 'enemy' focused so this one will be more 'lover' focused).

The song above gives me villain's/enemies to lovers at a masquerade ball dancing with each other vibes.

(The next story will be carterwood! Sorry for the delays, uni has been HECTIC)

Luisa stared in utter disbelief at the email on her laptop. Surely Sin Rostro couldn't be serious. She had only just managed to recover from their most recent caper. Which, by the way, had ended up with both women covered in various cuts and bruises. A particular nasty gash on Luisa's thigh had even needed stitches, which the drug lord had seemed all too keen to help with. A shiver ran down her spine as she remembered the way the red head had ghosted her fingertips over her knee, cradling her leg whilst she expertly sewed the wound shut. Sticky blood trickling down her pale arms...

The curser hovered over the decline option. Luisa glared at the Gala invitation, quickly scanning over the details.

It was tonight. At seven.

Meaning she had two hours to get ready.

Her mobile phone rang, disrupting her displeased grumblings.

"I'm not going."

She didn't even need to look at her phone to know who it would be.

"Don't be like that little mouse."

"No, I mean it this time."

She could hear the mirth in the other woman's laughter.

"Wear something practical darling, I'll see you tonight."

The call ended.

A frustrated sigh left her lips.

What does THAT even mean.

She was always leaving these little clues as to what they might get up to. Misleading crumbs that Luisa fell for every time. The last couple of times she had stuck out like a sore thumb. It was a miracle they hadn't been caught. The brunette buried her face in her hands as she recalled the time she had worn a yellow sundress to that awful funeral. That had to be the worst. 'Wear something bright' the drug lord had said. Luisa was starting to believe she had gullible written on her forehead.

Yet.

Seeing the red head smile like that had almost been worth the haunting stares.

Almost.

She looked down at her watch.

Of course she would leave this until last minute. Fuck spontaneity. She was staring to rethink the deal they had struck already. And it had only been two months. Luisa couldn't tell if Sin Rostro was malicious or if this was just her special way of including her. Either way it sucked.

Pouting, she accepted the invitation.

Convincing herself it was for the good of the business before running herself a hot shower.

Encompassed by the roasting hot water she couldn't help but chuckle. Yeah right, sure, it was always for the good of the business. Soap and shampoo mixed together, circling the drain. The hostility of their relationship had turned into something... more. Their estranged banter with each other seemed to grow every time they met. Quick wit and jibes that started out as a game had become bizarre attempts at flirtation.

And Luisa slowly found herself craving more.

She wanted to trace those shapely lips, tangle her fingers in her hair, kiss her until-

Her head thumped against the tiles. The drug lord seemed to be completely immune to the effect she had on Luisa. Even the way she looked at her. Cold eyes sparkling with something she couldn't quite place. A certain fondness that she didn't seem to hold for anyone else. Warmth pooled in her stomach just thinking about it.

She grabbed her towel, feeling her heart beat in her face.

Sin Rostro could be spotted a mile away. Luisa rolled her eyes. That woman ALWAYS had to be the centre of attention. Her signature colour was red, after all.

Nearing her she couldn't help but think how beautiful she looked tonight.

The dress was tight around her lithe frame, highlighting her slight waist and long legs. Luisa's mouth ran dry as she walked towards her, a blush creeping down her neck as the drug lord looked her up and down. Her face fell as she realised just how underdressed she was in comparison. Tugging sadly at her black slacks and silk shirt she looked away. At least her heels dressed it up a bit, right?

Sin Rostro was suddenly by her side, lips curling up into a small smile.

Her otherwise porcelain complexion had freckles that she hadn't noticed before. Peaking out from beneath her foundation. It reminded Luisa of the all those summers spent at the hotel. Her own little patch of sunny paradise that just screamed rose tinted glasses. She fondly recalled her brother, the two of them as children playing idly in the sand. Ice cream sticking to the roof of their mouth's, the raw sunburns and her fathers laughter. Salty sweet memories that she would much rather forget.

She was dragged back to reality by a loud crunch. Before her was a sight she would never forget. The notorious drug lord that was feared by so many was tucking into a huge plateful of shrimp.

Her mouth fell open in shock.

"Do you want one?"

Luisa blinked.

"Here, open wide"

The brunette flushed up to her roots.

"A-are you r-really gonna stand here and eat all of that-that shrimp?"

The red head shrugged, a cheeky grin on her face. Hand still outstretched, offering Luisa a shrimp. The way her eyes flickered across her face made her sweat.

"That's so... shellfish of you."

The brunette mentally kicked herself, face smarting as soon as she said it. She was so desperate to take the attention away from herself she had made a horrible pun.

Who the fuck even makes puns nowadays?

Rose snorted, shoulders shaking up and down as giggles poured from her mouth.

Luisa started, hands gripping the fabric of her trousers. The usually snarky woman's exterior melted away. In awe, she noted how genuine and lovely her laugh was. Like wind chimes in a cool breeze.

She shook her head. She should not be thinking about how adorable her laugh was, or how nice she looked in this particular lighting. She needed to focus on the task at hand.

A careful finger wiped away an unshed tear from the red head's eye, pleasantly surprised at how soft her milky skin was.

Sin Rostro remained smiling, finally calming down to murmur.

"Sorry, I do love a good pun"

***

"So a chip?"

A pointy elbow nudged her in the ribs.

"No, a flash drive."

"Ahhh okay, sure, got it"

"You didn't read the memo did you"

"You gave me like no time"

"I gave you plenty"

"Agh, look, just fill me in"

"Alright champ, we're looking for a..."

Luisa squinted at Sin Rostro. Her face was screwed up in annoyance.

"What happened? Why did you sto-

A strong arm yanked Luisa onto the dance floor.

"What's going on?"

The drug lord lowered her head, breath tickling the shell of her ear.

"We've been compromised."

"What?"

Luisa tilted her head, eyes searching for the unknown.

"It's okay, I have a plan"

The brunette scoffed.

"You always 'have a plan'"

"Trust me, alright"

"Fine"

The redhead bit her lip.

"That's my girl"

"Ugh"

"We're going to waltz around this room. You will create a diversion and I'll get my flash drive back from that slimy bastard"

"Wait how-

"Ouch"

The two looked down.

"You're stepping on my feet."

"Yeah, well, you're not giving me enough space."

A perfect eyebrow arched.

"You know what they say... keep your friends close and your enemies..."

The hand on Luisa's back gripped her, pulling her even closer.

She tried hard not to notice how close they were. How easy it would be to stretch up and kiss that bemused look off her face-

Instead, they waltzed around the room. Sin Rostro glided elegantly, lightly guiding Luisa through each step without making it look awkward or forced. The brunette was thankful for that, admittedly knowing how clumsy and ungraceful she could be in heels.

The drug lord squeezed her hand twice, signalling for Luisa to prepare herself. She was quickly spun outwards, with enough power for the brunette to slam right into their guy. The man stumbled back, grunting as Luisa kept a hold on his jacket. She managed to topple him backwards, at the cost of whacking her head off a table. The man sat up, utterly dazed.

Luisa's head thumped, she watched as the drug lord helped the man up. She had never seen anyone pickpocket as professionally as her. It was so fast and smooth that you could miss it in the blink of an eye.

Sin Rostro heaved her up onto her feet, face filled with thrill and concern. Yelling could be heard over the orchestra.

"Cmon time to go"

Luisa managed to choke out a reply.

"Aw, already"

Sin Rostro snatched her hand, linking their fingers together as they made a run for it. Footsteps echoed behind them as they reached the hall. Fumbling in her bag the drug lord whipped out a grappling hook. Luisa wheezed, lungs burning with the sudden exertion. This night just kept getting better and better. It was like something out of a telenovela.

The red head looped her arm around Luisa's waist, firing the weapon high into the air. Her side was pressed hard against the drug lord. She was warm, chest rising and falling rapidly. Breathing in sharply she noted the light smell of vanilla and honey that radiated from her.

She could feel the drug lord smirk into her hair.

"You know, I could get used to this"

"Spare me"

***

"Here"

A small bundle was thrown at her face.

"What is that?"

"Get changed."

Luisa unfolded the clothing, running her hands over the soft material.

"I guessed your size"

Sin Rostro looked at her as if she saw something wonderful. Gulping, she turned her head to look out at the moon, face burning with the intensity of her stare. The drug lord started the car, driving calmly through the city.

"You're impossible, you know"

"Come on, hurry up and change Luisa"

The name rolled off her tongue, the way she pronounced it was soft and delicate.

"How- how do you know my name?"

"I have my ways"

"Stop the car"

" I-

"STOP THE CAR. I can't do this anymore"

The drug lord pulled over, twisting fast in her seat to catch the feral and betrayed look on her associates face.

"I'm so sick of this. Of all the games. The chasing. Nearly getting caught. It's hard enough as it is I just-

Sin Rostro gingerly placed her hands on either side of Luisa's face. Thumb gently caressing her cheek.

"You've hurt yourself"

"What"

The drug lord dug in her duffle bag, pulling out a mini first aid kit. She clicked it open, pulling out antiseptic wipes and gauze. Switching the car's interior light on she critically examined the long cut on Luisa's forehead. A deathly silence filled the car. All that could be heard was Luisa's frustrated sigh as she allowed the woman to clean and bandage the wound.

"I didn't think you'd be this upset over your name"

"Yeah, well I am"

The red head was quiet for a few moments before speaking again.

"Okay, I'll level with you. Ask me anything"

"...Really?"

"Well, to an extent"

"Fine, I'll bite. What's your story?"

The drug lord let out a bark of laughter shifting in her seat uncomfortably.

"Another time, maybe"

"Knew that would be a long shot. How about your real name?"

The drug lord pursed her lips together, tilting her head to one side. Just when Luisa was about to drop the question altogether she whispered.

"It's Rose"

Their eyes met. Something dangerous began to spark.

She hates you, Luisa scolded herself.

The two instinctively leaned forward, eagerly meeting one another for a tender kiss. It was short. Far too short for both of their liking.

The thing with violent delights is that they often have violent ends. Gambling away at love and hate as they mixed together was a risk Luisa was more than willing to take. It looked the same for the redhead, who looked at her with those hungry eyes. Sinful smile sharp with need.

Would it be worth it? To forget herself in the obsession and want. She needed to take a leap. Make herself a lover out of this enemy. This enigmatic woman who revealed herself to be in fact, a lamb. Not a wolf. Was she foolish for wanting her? Luisa know's it'll end in flames, like everything does.

The second kiss is molten and suggestive, all loose lips and velvet tongue. Luisa bravely weaves her hands through Roses hair, tugging on it enough for the other woman to moan into her open mouth. The redhead rests her palm against her neck, painted nails scratching tantalisingly at her skin.

Maybe she liked the burnt feeling.

The high of it all before it peaks and everything turns to ash...

THE END.
