Thank you Almab6 for being the first to make a suggestion. I hope you enjoy it! (There will be another part).

(The song above gave me villainous vibes that I thought suited this story, feel free to mention any songs you feel fits the story or characters!).

The ice clinked together as Rose tilted the glass to her lips. Throat burning as she held back a grimace. You never could get a good drink round this part of town.

She really shouldn't be drinking. Not on the job. And certainly not with the amount of customers and contacts that relied on her. But this wasn't for pleasure, she quickly chided herself. It was rather cruel really, but necessary. It was the only dirt they could find on their new client. One dark smear on her otherwise spotless record. Rose swirled the foul liquid, lost in thought as she recounted all the information on her. Apparently, the woman's father had passed, leaving her the honour of running the family business. Some business indeed, the best firearms money could buy. During the expansion period of the business she had gone off the rails, alcohol seemed to be the womans only weakness. Something she had struggled with in her teens, if her youth criminal records were anything to go by. Hence, the simple manipulation and power tactic she had set up. Rose had to show her who she was dealing with and that nothing remained a secret.

The drug lord couldn't help but smirk at the codename, printed neatly near the bottom of the contract.

 'Little Fox'.

Straightening her spine against the wooden chair, she closed her eyes as she inhaled through her nose. She desperately wanted to scream at the ridiculousness of her situation. A few run ins with the police had forced her to take up a new partner. She was so used to being a lone wolf, relying on nobody but herself. Yet, it was nice having someone to help out every now and again. Took the stress off of her for once.

Even if that someone would be an inexperienced drunkard.

Her ears perked at the sound of heels hammering against the linoleum floor.

The door slammed open. Cold air circling the room as the woman caught her breath, expression furious. There was her client. Hair tumbling from a hastily thrown together ponytail, face beet red and glistening with perspiration.

She wasn't what Rose had expected.

A briefcase was presented, the leather slapping against the table top.

"Sin Rostro, I assume."

Sourness crept into her voice as she spat out her reply.

"So you're the owner of Solano Manufacturer's?"

"Yup"

She popped the 'p' at the end, like a child would. Rose tried not to let any emotions seep onto her face as she bristled. How unprofessional...

The clasps were snapped open, revealing three different models. Light glinted off the cool metal as Rose examined each one. The serial numbers were expertly sanded of and branded with an intricate emblem. The Little Fox watched her carefully, eyes dull as she spoke about each one in detail. But facts were not what Rose was looking for.

"Only three?"

The brunettes shoulder's tensed, tongue clicking in annoyance.

"The rest are being transported."

"I see."

Blue eyes trailed over the woman. She was obviously making the Little Fox nervous. The woman's leg bounced constantly, head slightly moving as her eyes flitted around the room. It was honestly rather unnerving, not to mention irritating. She sipped tantalisingly, studying her intensely as the woman glared at the glass. Her fingers itched as she slipped her hand into her pocket. Quickly finding her sobriety chip she grasped at it before promptly standing up.

"First your men roughen me up. Now this?"

So, she was emotional. Interesting. Rose could work with that. Bend it in her favour.

"Sit back down-

"I'm not a child. So don't speak to me like one."

"Maybe if you didn't act like one I wouldn't have to."

The woman deflated, sulkily lowering herself into the chair.

"Have we got a deal or not."

Ouch, this Little Fox had claws it seemed. Rose wouldn't lie that the change in tone and demeanour was attractive. The woman herself was rather appealing. The fitted suit cinched in at her waist. The material clinging in all the right places, accentuating her curves and fit build. Rose knew even sitting down that she would tower over the woman. Even in her heeled shoes she wouldn't come close to her height. Something about that made her heart race.

Black nails drummed against the table top. Tapping out a tuneless song. The motion made the Little Fox squirm. The drug lord shifted in her seat, focusing all her attention on the woman. Whose head nodded whilst she read over the contract, lip rolling between her teeth. A fountain tip pen was produced from her blazer pocket, she pulled the lid off with her mouth before signing her name. The script was elegant, hand curving as the ink flowed onto the paper. This woman just seemed to be full of surprises.

"Looks good."

"Does it?"

"Don't test me."

"Do I make you... uneasy?"

There was a pause. Dark eyes locking with steel blue.

Rose leaned forward.

"You don't feel threatened by me, do you?"

"O-of course not."

"Then stop reaching for your gun."

Her hand froze, the muscles and tendons quivering at being caught. Rose noted the slight flinch as she rested her palm upon her hand.

The next few moments were a blur.

The table was viciously flipped, sending the briefcase and glass clattering to the ground. The paper floated around the room as Rose was brutishly shoved against the wall. A tan forearm pressing hard into her throat. Forceful enough to feel the thrum of her pulse beneath her wrist. Pale eyes widened as the Little Fox glowered up at her.

The elastic band had snapped, copper hair curling sweetly over her chest and down her back. Rose's gaze lingered on the woman's collarbones, moving lower she could just make out the start of a black lace bra peeking out from under her shirt. Heat radiated from her cheeks, their faces now inches apart. Rose couldn't help but think how lovely her eyes were. A rich brown that promised amber flecks in the sunlight.

If only she wasn't so... immature.

Rose must've touched a nerve. All those offences suddenly made sense. The Little Fox had a temper.

The hilt of a knife pressed against the smaller woman's ribs, fiercely enough to bruise. She risked a glance down, the pressure over her throat lessened. This gave Rose all the time she needed to knock her balance and pin her face first against the wall. Positions reversed. The comedic yelp she gave wasn't lost on the drug lord.

Rose lived for the thrill. The adrenaline that coursed through her veins filled her with glee and elation. It made her line of work worth it. But to be challenged so abruptly and by none other than her future partner. Well, that just made her day.

Loosening her grip, she let the brunette stumble forward. Unsteady legs nearly whacking into Rose as she crouched down to pick up the papers.

Strong arms steadied her.

"I'm sure you have other-ah-clients and b-business stuff to attend to so-

Rose cut her rambling short, detecting the awkwardness and nervousness that oozed into her voice.

"Do I need to show you the way out or do you remember?."

The smaller woman's brows furrowed, she opened her mouth to say something before quickly shutting it, settling for a curt nod instead.

"I do hope to see you soon... little mouse."

The woman growled, stomping her feet as she stormed down the hallway.

Rose smiled wickedly, white teeth gleaming in the low light.

Oh, she would surely have fun with this one...
