❪ 𝐎𝐃𝐃𝐋𝐘 𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐋 ; 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐍𝐄 ❫
A BOY SAT IN THE MIDDLE of a garden. his hair swaying slightly as the midnight breeze hit his pale skin. he slowly peeled his eyes open, staring at the stars that lit up the sky along with the moon.
a contented sigh left his plump [red/pink] lips, enjoying the tranquility around him. his [e.color] eyes gleamed at the sight of a shooting star that zoomed across the sky.
'make a wish.' he mentally told himself. "i wish for..something that can make me feel.. excitement, to happen." he doubts it was gonna come true though, but at least he's seen a shooting star tonight.
"young master! madam itsuki is looking for you." a small voice yells out, catching [m.name] off guard.
[m.name] sighs, running his slim finger's down his face. "kaito, how many times do i have to tell you to call me [m.name] instead of young master?"
kaito, the eight year old who serves [m.name], blinked owlishly. "apologies." he says sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck.
"i'm still not quite used to having you be so nice and brother-like to me.." a ghost of a smile appeared on [m.name]'s face. patting the space beside him, he invited the small boy to sit beside him.
kaito silently gasps, excitedly waddling over to him. "so..what are you doing here young- i mean..big brother..?" [m.name] chuckles at the hesitance in kaito's voice.
"simply enjoying the peace." he says, staring at the moon. "the..peace? sorry but i don't really get it. i mean, you get peace in the manor everyday, right?" kaito asks, confusion written all over his cute little face.
[m.name] chuckles bittersweetly, "no." in fact, i've always felt trapped in that cursed place. he adds mentally.
kaito flinches, noticing the bittersweet tone. "ah! did i annoy you?!? did i get too comfortable?? i'm sorry!"
[m.name] pats kaito's head, the young boy leaned into his warm touch almost like a kitten rubbing itself onto its mother. "it's alright, kaito. oh, we seem to have forgotten that mother was looking for me."
kaito nods, taking note of the fact that [m.name] said the word "mother" with such hatred. he didn't want to push [m.name]'s buttons.
they never knew this would be the last time they'd see the world so peaceful.
